GUMPAAflux Alice is iconic fiction wise (I knew who she was before I even got into Touhou), she's also in the modern games so she is still relevant along with Yuuka(Reimu and Marisa are the protagonists they are always there so they don't count). Another super underrated girl is Yumeko(Prototype Sakuya as I call her at times), which is sad since there is little reason for her to be like that(I mean people like Sakuya even when she lacks much to make her stand out).

*[Samurai]* MEIRA Meira (明羅) is a mysterious female samurai that attacks Reimu Hakurei on stage 2 of Story of Eastern Wonderland, being the boss of that stage. She'll fire barrage of danmaku from her sword, where her last attack is shooting some purple and red bullets that reflects five times of the sides of the screen. Believing that by defeating the Shrine Maiden in battle, she'll gain the powers of Hakurei, she attempts to beat Reimu, but she fails and escapes, where Reimu wanted to bury her. She hasn't been seen since. (from TouhouWiki) ZUN's comment about the track: "The stage 2 boss theme. I tried making something cool, but it's really short, isn't it?"

@groudonsbest This unfortunately does not hold true for their names in Kanji. 明羅- "Mei Ra" 靈夢- "Rei Mu," as it appears in the PC-98 games. The closest you could get is Ramei, which honestly sounds like some kind of Indian food more than a name.

I'd guess it's a God Shrine Maiden situation for them. Konngara is a paraell to Hakurei, and Meira is Reimus', but is trapped in Gensokyo for some reason.

But rearranging it in Japanese, you'd get: -めらい, いらめ, いめら, らいめ,- らめい ( -merai, irame, imera, raime,- ramei). Ignore what I just said. I've found a comment with a kanji name of Meira (明羅), so you'll only get Ramei.

Why?

The biggest hurdle when playing SOEW Her first and last phase are so annoying

So, the title is やみのちから in Japanese. Quite explainable, as PC-98 wouldn't have enough screen space and pixels. But, if it'd have a Windows style rearrangement, I'd like the title to be ダークネスパワー (Darkness Power in katakana), for example.
