0:40 The lightening bolt S on the tang stamp indicates Case's stainless steel, vs. their other option: the wonderful CV carbon version.

Not true. The lightning bolt indicates 2010 through 2019. Flip it over and ss is stamped on the other side for stainless steel. Also cv is "chrome vanadium" not "carbon version." It is high carbon and you are correct that it is wonderful

nice collection. thanks for sharing it with us. i was looking at a sodbuster type queen cutlery knife called the "country cousin" in d2 tool steel. i'm gonna have to pick one up. love those red handles.

Great video of what is obviously only a small piece of your collection . I have the Imperial you show here and I have put that knife through everything except taping it to dynamite and it still has Zero blade play . None . I've owned a triple handful of pocket knives in my 60 years and I use them hard and daily and that China made knife is one of the most structurally sound knives I've owned .

I believe the red handle one is either a 80s or 90s vintsge because I dated one with the same stamp a while back.

I have a Clauss, pruning knife, its very "sodbuster like". Actyally prefer it BC it has a diff blade shape. great collection man. Chuck

So a few years ago I was down with my 2 horses and I had one Apple so I broke out my sod Buster to cut it in half It cut the Apple beautifully and cut my thumb down to the bone Wound up getting 6 Stitches The SV steel definitely can be sharpened to a razor moral of the story

What is the name brand on the Chinese one you mention towards the last part of the video_?

The first Sodbuster knives were made in Germany but they didn't have a name.Case called them Sodbuster and S Jr and other knife company's had to search for a different name like bull buster or Scout (Maserin Scout)I love the design

Schrade makes a copy cat sod buster. Any experience with them? I wonder how they compare to Case.

The imperials he showed are the schrades
