I’m a social media marketing major, now I’m no professional, but i honestly want to exploit this problem to its bone. But how do I do that when these algorithms will not be in my favor as I try to exploit their very essence. It’s bad enough the system we are in is already hijacked from the food we eat, to the medicine we take, to the media we consume. But honestly it feels like there is no hope at all for change. It feels like I’m shooting through this impenetrable wall to have a beam of light shine through that I know will never reach its intended gain. The people he’s speaking of/ companies are ruled by people that won’t even let you get close to those truths, and even if you say you do get close, they will silence you like no other, but it’ll never be attainable. Feels hopeless

AK-47 was created for war so that soldiers won't be stressed out changing bullet and other things in the face of war,but look at it now the inventor committed suicide because people started using it to kill their fellow human being. Social media was created so that after the stress of the day people can watch it and relax and also advertise their products which are on sales but look at it now, people are using it to spread false rumors which are separating friends,couples,married couples too. And so on . So it's not the invention that is the problem, it's humanity

To all the people watching this: Our brains and dopamine receptors are fried. I used to be a chain smoker. And I don't see much difference between social media addiction and smoking. It feels like I have rich and wonderful memory of my childhood (pre-internet era) than the post-internet era. I got my first smartphone after I completed highschool. And I don't have much clarity and rich memories of my life after that. Possibly because of the mental clutter all these thousands of useless information created. Try watching social dilemma again. This is screwing up our lives and we know it. But somehow it's normalised. It's like the messages on the cigarette packets "Smoking causes cancer". People know it but the companies know they will smoke anyways. So that message is useless.
