Chuck was the best drummer for every band he ever played for (DOA, CIRCLE JERKS, BLACK FLAG, DANZIG, SOCIAL D)

agreed, hands down! What a performance, and white light, white heat, white trash was their best album I think. Biscuits was their best drummer...wish he stayed.

I was super lucky to have been born 2 weeks after Biscuits and, like him, to grow up in Burnaby and, to also get involved in the Vancouver punk rock scene (although I didn't start a band until late 1979 at age 14 while Chuck joined DOA around a year earlier at the tender age of 13...and, TBH, he was "special" from the get-go. He was also a cocky fucker...with the skills to back anything he said or did x 1 zillion. I saw him play drums with DOA/Bludgeoned Pigs/Wasted Lives/filling in with No Exit/Randy Rampage's solo band gigs/other fill-in and one-off party bands plus a bunch of "fuck bands" as well as playing guitar with his brother Dimwit (Rude Norton) on occasion. Oh yeah - his RAP thingy with Dimwit (hilarious) I was there for his last gig with DOA and I was at the West End Community Centre the night he got in the van with Black Flag with whom he would replace Emil. The 1982 demos he did with Black Flag are outstanding...maybe his best recorded performances...however, he was booted from the band because he refused to rehearse 7 days a week for up to 8 hours...which Dukowski later told me was Chuck wanting to work "banking hours." He was also incredible during his time with the Circle Jerks. As with BF, a freaking shame that the Liberty/Biscuits era only recorded one song...the acoustic version of When the Shit Hits the Fans (Repo Man). THAT BANDE WAS FUCKING AMAZING His brief (but actually recorded/released) time in the Floorlords was awesome too. His times with FEAR and the Chilli Peppers were blips in space really,,,foggy memories. Danzig really kicked him in the nuts. He was treated lousy by GD at the end and, financially burned too. That started him drinking heavier which ruined his time in Social D too, They fired him for his drinking. He actually didn't even play on most of the album theat they were touring here...a fucking shame. Last I saw him was when I was working in the Costco Canada Head Office and went on a road trip with my boss to a location in Washington State...I walk in and the 1st person I see is Biscuits...working as a department manager at Costco. I walked upo and said, "Howdy Mr Montgomery...aint this a treat...a long ways form working in the kitchen at Mr Mikes and drumming for DOA!" He tossed his pen at me Awesomeness Freakin drum prodigy I was lucky
