This attacking overloads session develops an understanding of when to pass and when to dribble and teaches players the principles of fast-break counter-attacks.
This challenging opposed practice encourages players to play with a quick tempo, to make clever movements and to break lines i.e. try to get beyond the defender. It also tests players' decision-making as they are challenged to make the most of an overload situation.

The life of a soccer coach. Love working with the kids. Good drill mate.
Will try this! Thank you 🙌🏼
This is a fantastic drill. The d high press and the counter attack quick to the wings r huge things my team can't c but r vital things we r missin
Used this with my under 8s last Sunday and it really helped. Thanks for sharing this
Could this be adjusted to help with the offside rule for the attacking team?
Very nice 👌
Do you disregard offside in this drill to encourage the attackers to get in behind those defenders?

All activities should be realistic to the game. That's what they'll teach you in USSF Coaching Ed 101. Of course, sometimes you have to suspend the rules of the game for a certain period of time so players can have success. But if you are doing this activity and letting your attackers make offside runs, you aren't doing them or your team any favors.
