I like this, but transitioning from one group to the other is always the area in these 3v2 counterattacking drills where communication breaks down. I'd love to see a brief clip of this drill conducted live.

player nr 9 should not move away from the ball, but try to get between the 2 defenders for a open run - otherwise its a good drill

Thanks for watching!!! This is just one example but there are so many coaching point that could be made depending on what the coach is looking for and situation of the player. You are not wrong that he could try to get between it all depends.
