I got stung again today down in Santa Monica/Will Rogers..in the same spot I was stung last Summer. I'm taking notes.

"our beaches" you mean part of their home???

And that’s why I’ll NEVER go swimming in those waters. I can’t even believe I managed to go into the water at Imperial Beach without getting stung.

I got stung by one on my foot yesterday

So they render them defenseless by removing their barbs? Wow. Humans are the worst.

@@bramsonbambival7901 that makes this endeavour even more stupid and painful for the Stingrays because it does grow back in a approx 2-6 Months, but and you've already damaged them their defenses against predators during that time and it grows back anyways so why are you hurting them? it's not a permanent fix like this is ridiculous! It's like torturing these beautiful creatures for absolutely no reason whatsoever!

@KirstiStephenson Yes, while that is true in the video it says that the population is higher than in previous years, so it doesn't hurt to give predators a helping hand to balance the food chain. At the same time however, it is wrong to send a majority of the caught rays back out defenseless and it probably hurts them more than likely though they should keep a few of the rays that have no barbs so they make a full recovery and to study them and to see their health. Really with things like this there are huge grey areas dude so there really is now right or wrong there are just the facts u and I presented.

@@KirstiStephenson removing the barb doesn't hurt the rays - it's made of keratin, like nails or hair.

No, not at all. Steve Irwin was killed by the short-tail stingray which is native only to Australia, NZ and southern Africa. These are round stingrays.

That’s a lie the stingray capital of the world is any beach in Baja California Sur. You name the beach Mulegé, La Paz, San Felipe, Loreto. There way more stingrays over there than SoCal.
