@@dogeofgreatness2222 Well actually I am Chinese. And I knew "Khoomei" is one special form singing of Mongolian, but google tell me what Huun Huur tu performs is a form of low voice Khoomei... Wow at that swarm of Mangudai. Feels like a decent simulation of how the Mongol conquests actually went, although they were probably a tiny bit faster.

44:12 - the stats clearly reveal that the single mangonel shot at 36 min changed the balance of power for good! incredible stuff going on..

the single mangonel shot was excellent. but what changed the balance of power was his mangudai. they raided constantly (quick and with almost 100% accuracy) and they wiped out any seige the other dude brought. i've played mongols thousands of times. it's the mangy-dogs AKA mangudai.

36:58 - need an action replay of that golden Mangonel shot. Those things can put the fear of god into an archer ball.

Great video! I'd like to see *ITALIANS* ! They are very versatile in every map. Even if they aren't a top civ, they have good eco and water bonus. I'd like to know how to use perfectly genoese crossbowmen and condottieros! Incredible units, but rarely used! In my opinion there is a lot of potential.

speaking of incas, if they get to imperial they seem to kind of hard counter mongols with 10 pierce armor eagles.... especially when you're nub like me and forget that and tech into champs xD

@zonda_r2 If you watch pro games they generally 'play to the meta', because scouting is good enough that they'll know what their opponent is up to. Most pro games I've seen w Franks, esp in tournaments, they play scouts into knights.

@zonda_r2 That sound like a very nooby game tbh. No decent player would build 2 stables in the feudal age and not make cav. Too much of a waste. In the time it would have taken to build 2 stables the other player would would also likely have some military production and/or walls.

-Nnooooo you can't just ride in circles around my infantry and shoot them with arrows in an blink of an eye without ever getting hit -*HUURRRRMMMMMMMMMHHH*

hey Hera - love the series and all your content in general. It would be great if you could do something similar for maps - e.g. "So you want to play oasis". I love playing random maps in the ranked queue and not banning too many , but I wish I had a better idea of how to play some of the newer maps in the queue and get your thoughts on what the best civs are, different ways of playing the map etc. keep up the great stuff!

They help with tower rushing, also slingers is the best anti infantry in castle age

People always say try Byzantines, saying it is so easy and stuff. I think it can be hard since, most people attack from the beginning of the game.

Persians. Thank you for your videos, I really like your style. I copied a lot of your hot keys. Comsidering you use of "wsad" micro movement of the screen what how do you manage aggresive/defensew/stand ground and the formation in "milatery commands"

What do you think about about using stone walls instead of palisades right from the start? In my opinion in early feudal wood is more scarce/needed than stone and walling stone saves you some villager time later, as you don't need to add house-walls etc. Also more secure for remote locations. It seems to work quite well for me, but there might be some tradeoffs, ofc in castle age there will be some delay with castles etc.

I usually think if mongols first tech means you can make big walls with your houses early game where no one can get to you in specific maps and once you hit your castle age you gained the pop limit for a very big solid wall advantage " or some shit like that"

Mongol Hussars are ridiculously good as a meat shield. 112hp for an 85 food trash unit is tremendous. Their downside, that they don't get the last Cav upgrade, is largely irrelevant in the face of so much extra health; they can take an entire extra hit from a Halberdier, something that armor doesn't afford. Plus, Mongols is terrifyingly fun; faster Rams feel so natural to use, Mangudai/CavArch are easy for a beginner learning to use control groups, the comp doesn't have a hard counter, and they have useable options like Camels or Steppe Lancers depending on the need for counters and availability of gold. A great 'first main' Civ.

i just have done a presentation about the genetic lecay of Mongols... is this a perfect follow up

The cheap elephants can be really devastating in early castle age if you also go monks to convert back your elephants. Not something you want to make long term though.

Thank you Hera for the video. I never thought mixing champ' with Mangudais in post-imp cause never pay attention there were fully upgraded, hum. What do you think about cav archers in the game? They are almost never played in castle age (only Huns players really use them). I tried them several times as magyars or tatars and I really think they need a buff. IMO, the delay before the first shot make them painfull to micro. I think they should have the same as Mangudai to be more used. I don't think they will be overpowered because you can't mass them in feodal as archers and they need a lot of upgrades to start being anything else than a raiding pack. I'm curious to know what you think about this.

If you haven’t got it yet, it’s worth it. Includes all the expansions content that costs much more than $20 for HD, as well as better GFX (although you will need an actual computer if you were running on some integrated graphics potato). Larger community, and overall feels more clean

Utkarsh Sinha there are lots of civ specific build orders, have a look and it could give you and idea of how to utilise the eco bonuses

The most important question though... What is the best looking civ color for mangudai?

Would you be able to use your houses to support you defenses more since you don’t lose population?

No, its still a very bad tech. Houses are only 25 wood, so its not a big deal to just lose them.

@@MarianoGianni1 yeah meant like you don’t get pop capped so you extra don’t care about losing. I guess that only a thing for newer players don’t make enough houses in the first place

About no mad "africa one did not see the rest" i saw a million animal in the map and it made me wonder if mongols can stay for a very decent/long while without farms because of it since they gather food much faster from hunt it does feel like a mill is always worth dropping for 400-500 fast food and it can be done with a single vil for deer
