I work at a Toyota dealership and I do like the body lines of the vehicle but it did get over shadowed by the C8 Corvette especially since they are asking close to $80k for a sports car when there is alot of competition at those prices for faster and better vehicles

D3ATH 16 ill just grab a R35 GTR around this price range. The supra is just the new “hotness” and it aint even that hot. Looks great but ehh engine is good but yea alot of other better cars out there

To Alex and Dakota: The problem here is that it is NOT JDM. As soon as they put that BMW engine in there, it was over. Forget Economics and Business 101 for a second. What did we want? Anybody who shells out this much money for a Supra, better not get just a shell! Nobody likes the shell game cause we know we always lose. That’s the WTF moment when customers put their wallets back in their pockets. Furthermore, we are hip to these KZread influencers. Anybody with 90,000 USD discretionary income is smart enough to know that the influencers tried countless ways to help Toyota push this car out. This car is gutted. It’s a Supra shell on a BMW platform. If I wanted a BMW, I’d go over there and get an M-Comp. All in all, this is a sad story. They didn’t have to be the fastest, but at least they had to put their heart into it.

I forgot where I heard this from, but I agree with the statement: "If you want sports cars to be kept alive, accept the fact that manufacturers will collaborate." I'm really happy that Toyota actually went through with the idea and are making fun cars again.

Harshal shetty If it’s “just a re-skin” they why is nobody interested in the Z4 compared to the Supra? SEMA 2019 is a good example where the Supra was the most popular car, if you don’t count the Jeep Gladiator.

I think they will in the future. Toyota intends to sell the same number of units each model year for the Supra, which means a big improvement every year to maintain interest levels. So I think as soon as they need a sales boost they’ll drop the manual option.

Even though Toyota collaborated with BMW to make a sports car like the Supra, I’m glad that they still kept it to its roots as a straight six RWD sports car and it’s probably one of the best new cars on the market A manual would be so nice but the ZF auto works so well

Once you get over the fact that people constantly call it a z4 it’s an amazing car. I’ve owned mine since November and it was the greatest purchase. Non car people love it and it really stands out. Mine is tuned by Afe and Toyota collaborated with them so it’s still under warranty. It’s now pushing 650 on a stage 2 tune.

Cars depreciate value differently, but yeah this ver.1 MkV might depreciate alot in a few years lol

What’s awesome about the mk5 is you can swap over a manual from the z4

now someone finally understand my love for the mk5 supra

The BMW part about the new Supra isn’t necessarily a bad thing plus they make some of the best straight six engines out there and it suits the car very well

I'm a simple man, I see a Malaysian number plate, I like the video.

Supra: I don’t know man. Everybody calls me a Z4 and Toyota is planning to release a better version of me with more options already. Am I even worth it? Doctor: Ahhh. I see the problem. You have a severe case of depreciation.

This channel is the only channel where i never skip the intro beat. Love F.I channel.

Supra is still testing the waters to even see if there’s a sports car market. The Yaris GR will be their first true sports car produced independently (without the help of Subaru or BMW) and Toyota is going to become a sports car powerhouse. It’s rumored the MR-2 will return with a collab with Porsche which I think will be amazing. The snap oversteer problem will be gone and I think they will use the next gen STI motor and 6sp to make it happen + using the sti motor will keep costs fairly low. Toyota is coming back on track and the Supra was a test to even see if there was an i6 rwd coupe market and in a few years, the Supra will ironically be BMWs new competitor. But hell, I hope people keep hating on it because they will depreciate more then I can do some crazy builds with em.

Usually a bigger turbo, 4inch downpipe with a single exit exhaust would do the trick. Im curious to hear one with upgraded Cams.

My first truck was a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider. ❤️ I totaled it 2-3 years ago, but I still miss it.

I remember I went to odaiba and saw the FT concept and fell in love instantly, dream car to own a 22 or 23 mk5 supra

Someone in my town has a red new Supra and man they look so good in person. I'm sure lots of non-car people think it's like a Ferrari or something though.. It's a bit of a weird colour to produce them in imo. Love them in white or yellow!

As a Toyota tech I can say that the 2021 does show have a fuel small changes as in the headlights and front bumper have changed some. There is now an exhaust manifold instead of the turbo bolted to the head. And now the calipers say Supra on them as well as having 2 small braces in the front of the engine bay

I love my LE Mk5 and always get asked if I'm pissed about the next year being "better". Most of the fixes they are doing to the 2021 I have done to my 2020. Plus being #424 will help with the depreciation. I just wanna see more on the road. I have yet to see another other than a buddy I live next to and car shows.

One of my first car guy memories was in a black MKIV doing 135 down the 101 freeway to catch puck drop for a Coyotes game, I had wanted one since, and was never able to afford it, now that the car has come back I want the MKV so bad and all that is stopping me is the color options. If Toyota would sell it in Lava Orange to match my TRD Pro Tundra, id have one already. Toss on some black Rohana RFX10, and call it a day.

There’s one of these sitting in a dealership near me, it was the 2nd one brought into Ireland and well still hasn’t sold. If I ever get a spare 60k well I’m gonna have one good second car, my mr2 do be projecty
