I have had an FS91r for years, usually using the string head and the metal blade (when its wet enough out to not worry about fires). I have a polycut head for it that has some german writing on it and in english it says "Grassbuster". Its been a while since I've used it, and I can't find the manual for the head. I went to put new stihl polycut blades on it and it is nothing like any of the videos I can find. Every video I see for similar heads on a Stihl just have the polycut blades sitting very loosely on the bolt. My old polycut blades that are still in the grassbuster head have metal bushings pressed into them; the bolt goes through the lower half of the head, then through the bushing in the blade, then there is a "threaded washer" on the bolt, and finally it goes into the retained nuts on the upper half of the head. So I had to tap the bushings out of the old blades using a large socket underneath and a smaller socket on top. Of course the bushings won't press into the new blades easily. I tried tapping them in but they are impossible to get in. So I was able to get the bushings seated into the new blades by assembling everything in the right order and tightening the head together which got the bushings seated in. I then had to take the head apart, and tap each bushing in further with a hammer. Now when I put it together, the threaded washers can thread all the way down the bolt until they drop off the threads and just float on the bolt shaft next to the bushing/blade. I am not going to spin this thing up with these washers rattling around loose on the bolts inside the head. Why did a Stihl dealer sell me this head which makes replacing polycuts nearly impossible when every head I see online, you just open the head up and drop new blades onto the bolts?

Very nice video. Thank you. I am repairing 2 of these that are owned by my neighbor. "They don't run worth a XXXX!" PROBLEM: He leaves them on his trailer and they get rained on. A lot. Less than 2 years old and every part that can rust, has rusted. Yes, the air filters were soaked with water and indeed, they were growing MOLD. I have NEVER seen that before. I cleaned them up and replaced air filters. Absolutely awesome machines. I wish the idiot would take care of his equipment. -- North Central Florida

There's no warranty left on it and the owner can't find the bill of sale but it does look like it's in great shape. Not sure if it would make more sense to go that route to save some dollars.

Oh yeah...by the way, I can wear down a plastic bump head in about month and a half. It is impossible at some of the places I cut to avoid running it over buried/partially exposed lava rocks/boulders down to the small lava cinder bits. The metal disc that you load two strings manually is the best for longevity, but not speed🙄. The brush blade is BAAAAD to the BONE!! Can't work without Stihl Products!!!
