I thought the same when I discovered him 2 years ago. I will be going to my 5th concert of his in May (Budapest)… He is not only the most versatile singer from a range and texture perspective, writes his own music, but he also has a heart of gold, such a rare combination. Need to listen to it every day, at least a bit. Welcome to Dimash’s world. Love from a Belgian Dear (he calls us fans his “Dears”).

This song, originally written by Koji Tamaki, is about an actress of Japanese decent who was raised in China. She became adored by the Chinese public under a Chinese pseudonym but after the war she was discovered and her public turned on her. She was deported and did not see China again until shortly before she died decades later so this song is meant to be her singing about losing the home she knew. The year after this song was originally released in Japanese it was re-released in Chinese as "Autumn Strong" and that became a very popular cover; many people do not release that "Ikanaide" was the original or that they are even the same song. Dimash performed "Autumn Strong" on his breakout season of "Singer" on CCTV in 2017 and then was asked to perform this version when they were honoring Tamaki at the 20th Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. It's also worth noting that make native Japanese speakers have reacted to this performance and commented on the perfection in his pronunciation. I love that Dimash puts so much effort into respecting the different languages he performs in. Also... he goes higher than M.C., just saying. Example: his D8 whistle in "Unforgettable Day" at GAKKU.

And I have to remember that you have to take it all with a grain of salt. Some people are truly clueless and she is just one of those people. Still... Saluti from Italy 🇮🇹

It seems to me that you already understand this yourself - what kind of phenomenon you actually encountered. All the performers available today are a series where comparisons can be made. Dimash is out of the row.

Wonderful reaction as always. Suggestions for the next Dimash song: El Amor En Ti (in Spanish, he composed this himself) and The Pearl Fisher’s Duet (opera aria in French, in duet with the legendary Placido Domingo). Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪.

Loved your honest reaction. Dimash does that to all who listened to his voice/songs. His vocal technique is second to none. Quoting from one of the Dears who commented a while back, "Celine Dion + Freddy Mercury + MJ + Pavarotti + Mariah Carey = Dimash Qudaibergen." Dimash is all of them put together and more. He is so unique that you can't categorize him. You can't put him in a box. You can't define him by the genre of his songs, because he can sing anything and everything and be totally brilliant at it. He is the complete package. He is not a "Male Mariah Carey" Dimash is Dimash. The one and only. He actually produced a whistle high note (D8) and held it for 5 whole seconds, which was a note beyond the highest key of the piano. Dog whistle and dolphin range. yes, there are few artists who can hit those high notes, but most of them struggled to get up there and even when hitting it, the voice is screeching and brassy and not at all pleasant to hear, but not Dimash's voice. His voice is crystal clear and pure. Dimash also mastered the art of transmitting emotion through his voice and expression. You don't need to know the language, but yes, you "feel" it.
