Definitely... I understand not all boxes are gonna be good and have hits, but this is about 3 times the price it was around 2018. You just don't get enough out of the boxes anymore to justify their cost. Opening wax really only makes sense for the breakers now

Yes they are.. Do better collecting Bowman & going to the Minor League’s & getting autographs in person. I got Julio Rodriguez to sign 3 pre-rookie cards in freaking Rome GA. Won’t pay those high prices, I got to eat & pay bills…

Good to see you back! Did one break of this opening night (Friday) -- 4 hobby boxes, 3 teams for just under a hundred, got 2 autos including Gavin Sheets aqua /199, and that will be my 1 break for Chrome this year. ... I've had more Chrome fun this summer with the delayed '21 Platinum Anniversary -- I''ve hit a few real nice autos and color and it's made for set building. That set will have legs.

Great to see you uploading again phil’s-osophy. Love the editing. I opened one box of jumbo like yourself. 4 vet autos and 1rc auto. No big rookies even of base. Blessing in disguise actually. Topps is so watered down now I opened my last box… at least for a while.

Man I always look forward to Chrome. Topps is really bumming me out this year.

I did a break with Cardsmith Breaks on Friday. They were doing mostly randoms and drafts. About half a case in, they realized that SPs and SSPs weren't showing up. At the end of the night, they refunded 40% of the cost to each person in the breaks. Super cool of them, but that's a big loss considering the price of Chrome. I hope Topps does something to make this right. Chrome is a major product that a lot of people look forward to all year,

@@casey4432 well, some people (breakers) I know have "inquired" with Topps and gotten no reply, soooooo...... Also, Juan Yepez only has an auto, no base rookie cards so far. This is a super wierd set for sure, probably never will know what actually happened, just hope they don't make it out the old "back door".........

Boy they got real stengy with the color too. Higher print run, less color, crappier autos twice the price. Gotta love it

I have one of your autos from Topps I forget what set but it's in my PC

Its funny how people are complaining about the price of chrome. Panini charges 4x-5x for Prizm/Select/Optic football and basketball. As long as they keep the Stadium Club Chrome hobby box under $160, I will ok. I think the SC chrome has much nicer photography.

This why i mainly buy single cards from my local store the prices for boxes are ridiculous now it just doesn't justify paying 400$ for 4 or 5 good cards when i could just buy a handful of autos

I feel your pain. That's why I can't buy hobby anymore. Instead I grabbed 3 blasters and in the first box I hit Jake Myers pink , green speckle trey amburgey and. BOOOOIOM !!! Redemption for blue auto spencer torkelson. Out of the 3 blasters . 2 Wanders , 6 negatives, 3 numbered color cards plus the Redemption. I'm stoked.

I dont care if Phil opens 90's upper deck, I'm soooooo happy your back. And I'm a Red Sox fan and I hate the Yankees. Phil your the man!!!!

Yeah I love Topps Chrome I'm glad the product is finally out for this year but it's not worth $600+ for a Mega Box for that kind of money you can get a nice Carson City Morgan dollar

Agree it’s insane. My LCS was doing 2 for $180 hobby boxes in 2019. That was an absolutely loaded product too and not just in hindsight because Vlad, Pete, Tatis, Hiura (at the time) amongst others were huge chases. I hadn’t been following what the MSRP was going to be and when I saw Topps list them up I was excited, expecting to pay like $175 which I thought was a little high but I still would have bought. $300 no way.

I bought 3 blasters from Target. Might consider returning when it comes in? I did buy a couple of Finest on the Topps web for over $200 - was a moment of weakness for sure!

This product could have been incredible. With the addition of the Vet autos. I'm not going to name the names of the players that we don't want, because they're still MLB Veterans, and they do deserve some respect. Why not have the Vet Auto checklist be a complete All-Star list? Could you imagine how sick this product could have been? Instead of RC autos, you're pulling Trouts, Ohtanis, Judge, deGroms, Max, JV, Trea, Jram, DJ, Polar Bear, Raffy Big Stick, Bryce, Mookie, Acuna...Does Nate Pearson still have his Rookie eligibility??? Come on!

I dont mind them adding some veteran autos to remove some of the really bad rookie autos. But Chrome is just so over saturated I cant even consider buying a box

$60 box of 2022 Topps Chrome update. Got about $3.75 worth of cards. :-) my best card was so off-centered that it's not even worth anything

How do we know the print run is really high just because there are so many different autos? Couldnt it be the same print run just with more people signing?

And that, ladies and gents, is garbaggio. MAYBE $200 (if you work for it) on a $600 + box.

Topps Chrome looks great. I heard through another channel that Witt, Dalbec, etc. are going to only be short prints. Nice to have you back breaking. Was beginning to think that you weren't going to be doing any more breaks.

Hey guys this is a none related topps fact given to me directly from a topps VIP. Did you know topps keeps a large amount of everything printed per year out of sale and in storage for replacement for any issues. Example of issues, missing deliveriee or damaged cards or what ever needed. At the end of the year every year there is a significant amount of packs and hole boxes left over. Instead of selling them they are destroyed. So you could be chasing a card that will never be in circulation because it was destroyed. It is crazy that they do that. Could you imagine destroying a 1 of 1. The boxes they hold back have no rhyme or reason he said, they just know how many they are supposed to pull and put aside.

This shit is so bad this year. Was in a reg hobby case break and a wander Refractor was the best card. Was in a jumbo case break had like 7 orioles autos and a Duran sp... Bet all the good ssp are in retail, topps messed up somewhere.

This is why I just buy the singles now and not waste money on boxes

Again this year they keep raising the prices. Topps of there are autos guaranteed they charge 100 per auto. So 5 autos 500 but now there charging 20 percent more so 5 autos 600.. absolutely ridiculous. Bowman is the way to go they charge half the price for autos .

Topps chrome definitely throwing some no hitters when it comes to the the bigger cards.

It sucks that they didn't put the sp rookies in the product. They lied agin to all of us
