I just scrolled past this video & as I was still recognizing the words I haven't yet passed full or fully comprehended what was read I had to confirm the title cause I have strong core memories of the very different experience with going to Myrtle Beach for the weekend to discover it was the black bike week as well as the same mistake to be attending the white bike week as a young kid going with my parents and then continuing to be at a whole them weekend or weekend completely by accident by not checking out anything before the parents randomly took us & any other time that me or friends with the car decided to go spontaneously & having to go to the stores once we arrived damn near every single time I have ever been!!! s. Child I don't have any kind of judgement on the experiences outside of the having to be in with a sitter for the after sunset festivities however I have had a few.... I'm being generous to the past here for the sake of hindsight being young and the same memories thru adult eyes!!!**** However I do have a feeling that the reason for freaknik" is the best synopsis of the cancellation for the different experience at least from a young 20/mature looking Minor!!! I can say that these implications of the black customers being charged more than the white customers from my every summer experience in MB SC was not a specifically racial move but it was an attempt to get the bad apples who would be boycotting the price of admissions per se, but it's a little complicated cause the Bad Apples were ABSOLUTELY MANICS HYPING THE PHYSICAL DANGER & THE LOOSE CANNONS TO GET EXTRA WILD & THE WOMEN WERE IN DANGER MAN OR NOT BUT THE GROPING & THE WOMEN ASSAULTS THE FIGHTING CONSTANTLY ACTING OUT THE DRUNK & The same TOXIC DEGENERATES OUT OF ALL THE PEOPLES EMBODYING THE SAME GROUPS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE THE SAME TYPES IN DEGENERATE in all of the different culture/race/the worst of the worst no . Matter what color would thrive so much just hyping the registration people who are not trashing rooms or robbing people at the ATM I but it's hard for them to be cool calm. & Collected by the way the last time a large group of people cost more money than the group brought it after cleaning the place & repairing the massive damage done to everything the eye can see,. & I Remember that the one time I heard that the same people are responsible for it and banning people who have been already caught up or something was caught on film But it's still not reviewed yet.... .& THE UPROARIOUS Anger THE ENTIRE TIME mere solutions are being tossed out and the same ones demanding dignity order clothes be Enforced are the same people in boycott going until it gets fixed fighting the entire time they were asking about what should we do? I know several people who are taking advantage of the depravity reputation though as.. asif It's The purge which I have been unintentional witness to as Well as the full intended snitch to be able to sleep at night but it's still I Full agree with that clothes/indecency rules for the people as a whole since I have witnessed a change over the years when a confident woman wore a whole entire dress or coverups to the beach and the thong to get tanner not to attract attention yet now I have witnessed too many people let it all go walking around the shore nothing hiding in front of a kids the family the elders and not be the least bit of shamed to be the laughing stock wherever they go . cause of the same people who are bullying the people who are unable to gain weight from the body at . Any size dribble Sorry I didn't mean to say that it's cancelled by the pushing it to be done is what surprised me with the video start but it's still not going to be easy to get a bad Apple out to stay out without a hug pushback and the supporters are good to have to go harder for the downside to worth more than the upside

You really don't know what you're talking about. I lived there with my parents back in the 70s. That place is racist as hell. We're you living under a rock when Chris Rock was speaking about his hometown as a child. Conway SC is right next to the dirty water beach. Mrs. ROCK HAD TO VISIT A Animal Doctor to get her dam tooth pulled. Nobody would pull this woman tooth. I'm from the South, go live in the town of Myrtle Beach now, clearly it hasn't changed we were the only black family residing in Seagate Village, it's a nice community across the street from Myrtle Beach State Park. I nolonger vacation there now I cruise to the beautiful blue waters of the world😊

Three observations: 1. Stop forcing ourselves in spaces where our business is not desired/wanted/welcomed. 2. Obey the rules of the spaces we choose to visit and 3. Keep that same energy for the 10% (the knuckleheads)of us who purposely show up with ghetto intentions, her bent on wreaking havoc. We have to hold ourselves accountable and not just express outrage for the real or perceived racial sights. 🙄 I swear it's exhausting.

🤔unfortunately there are studies that expose "bias". Two children, one white and one black engage in the "same" behavior and the teacher will describe the black child's behavior negatively. (This holds for black and white teachers). They want to penalize the black child and overlook the same behavior with the white child. University of California at Berkley....institute of othering and belonging...excellent resource to a deeper understanding of racism on many different levels.

I'm from Myrtle Beach and also worked at the hotels and I agree that the Black Bikers were treated differently but to physical live there and see you would understand. The black bikers would leave Myrtle Beach in a hot mess. And I could write a book on how nasty they left the hotel rooms and how nasty and disrespectful they treated the staff. I'm not saying that all the black bikers were like that but the event as a whole is a hot mess. I'm not mad that certain business shut down when black bikers came.

I had a friend who had a store on the boardwalk near the gay dolphin gift shoppe, one year, I believe 2014, he was flash mobbed. Almost every shirt in the store was stolen. I am so glad to look on these comments and to see that so many people have come to the realization that a lot of times black people are the problem. Nine times out of ten when there's a large group of black people something bad/violent is going down. It's good not to see people making excuses for bad behavior. For those that are saying they should go somewhere where they are welcome and support black businesses. It does not matter where some black people go if something is going to jump off it's going to jump off. Any place any time. I would be scared to take a risk opening my establishment also. It doesn’t matter what we do or how we do it they will ALWAYS have an issue with it. What we need to do is understand that these things are rooted in their DNA and that some things will never change. At some point we need to come to reality with that. At some point they need to kind their own business and stop needing us and hating us at the same time. They only do what we allow.

I lived in North Myrtle Beach in the 2000s. I don't blame businesses for shutting down during Black Bike Week. Enough people refused to pay for food or gas and skipped out so that businesses LOST money (what's the point of having a business). There were tons of fights, murders, and that special kind of "harassment." I know it's loud and annoying during Harley Week, but there was not NEAR the crime, violence, and stealing (not paying restaurants).

My thoughts: •some people in the comments are offended by just ONE part of the issue instead of including all the pieces • Yes, the brought ratchetville to the event and probably brought a whole new kind of chaos that didnt sit wel with the city or the locals. This includes, for some reason, hypersexual activity •at the same time, there were more accidents from Harley than Black Bike Week but the city did nothing. The fact that they took tougher action on BBW is a strong indication that the new policies were racially motivated but at the same time its NOT like black people helped to diffuse their reputation •One of the issues that initiated this whole fiasco was black people segregating and creating a “league of their own.” They put a flagpole on top of a biker event and from there it was all ab domination and “this is about and FOR US.” We do this ALOT and shit always goes down whenever we do this. Not only did they ruin businesses and the welfare of other ppl but such domination and wildness does nothing but cause racial tension. Other people feel like they cant hang out with us so they will do any little thing to get rid of Black Bike Week bc its proven to be an unruly, exclusive, business-crushing, hypersexual event. I’d love to know more ab Harleys consequence(s) on the city tho •i would NEVER attend a BBW event. Seeing the dance party made me feel nervous and thats sad. But it looked dangerous to me bc i know they’ll be jamming to aggressive music that contains the N and B words, somebody got some weed (and other things), another person got their glock somewhere concealed, and the ladies will be twerking, getting f^^^ked, or getting felt up on unwantedly. Future fatherless or neglected babies will be made. Not to mention gang activity and recruitments. If its not a black tie Black event, trust me Im not there. And the really sad part is you cant tell our ppl sh^t when it comes to our behavior. Any form of correction is called “sounding white.” Im not even gonna bother with it no more

Bro I’m a Black Biker and wouldn’t touch that week with your hands. White people in this area built a haven for them selves and don’t have to share Harley Week had more accidents because they get drunk and ride which is dumb on their part however the bike community as a whole is community minded if some one is causing a disruption everyone steps in to diffuse the situations I step to a fellow black sister or brother about doing stuff that would cause a stain on the image of us getting together will be received negatively and turn into a problem that may turn violent because of ignorance and that is brother to brother so bottom line we do this to ourselves no accidents but lude loud obnoxious behavior ratchet disrespectful behavior nobody wants to be apart or associated with.

You gotta hold people accountable for their actions. Especially when it comes to an event like that. You gotta understand. You're bringing the event to where people live and have families who are out and about. Imagine going out to eat with your family and kids. Who see someone half naked, smell of weed the music and language being uses. Not to mention the shootings, stealing of bikes and cars. Then when it's all over those people go home and the community has to be prepared to see another year like that.

I stopped going to BBW after 2015 because of their shenanigans. I pivoted to Daytona and Panama City Beach Bike Weeks which have been very welcoming to bikers. The Holiday Inn in Panama City Beach actually towed 2 cars parked in the Bike parking area and had security walk the area all night as a theft deterrent. I was actually impressed and asked for a meeting with the hotel manager. He appreciated me taking the time to acknowledge his efforts.

I was born in Myrtle Beach in 1984. I've lived here for 39 years. If people who don't live here would come here for both weeks to compare the "festivities", you'd see a difference. And to be fair to the Atlantic Bike Week Bikers, it's not the motorcyclists that cause the problems. I actually enjoy talking with them and checking out their bikes. The morons who follow them in their cars, block traffic, and don't allow emergency vehicles to get to injured parties (and trust me, with all the alcohol and drug use those weeks, there are a lot!) who I have a serious problem with. Besides, the bikers are usually really good at policing their own groups. If one of them get out of line, their friends will reel them in. The reason some businesses choose to close is due to the amount of "dine & dashers" during Black Bike Week that has, historically, been higher than the rest of the year. Then, when the owners of the businesses confronted the thieves, they were accused of being racist. So... they're racist if they open, and they're racist if they stayed closed. Better to be called racist from afar than up close, I guess. As a native of the Grand Strand, I would welcome the Knight Riders, and their creed, back to Myrtle Beach with open arms. As an aside, though, it must be stated that the entire "town" of Atlantic Beach, SC is literally 2 city blocks that is completely surrounded by the city of North Myrtle Beach (yes... it's a different city. Not to be confused with the North end of the city of Myrtle Beach. 2 cities with really close names.) There is no way that Atlantic Beach could ever host what we now average to be around 315,000 people during Memorial Day Weekend. So, the city of Myrtle Beach is expected to be the next door neighbor who opens their home for a party they didn't throw. I can understand why the residents of Myrtle Beach get frustrated. It's grown way bigger than I think the Knight Riders ever thought it would become, for better or for worse. Also also... I'd like to thank Leroy for helping to pump drugs into my hometown. Thanks, DICK. He has no sympathy from me. But then again, I guess he is a perfect parallel as to what Black Bike Week has become. Started out wholesome but deteriorated into a drug-infested, rip off of its original self... Just like Leroy.
