"Cry Havoc" is one of my favorite stories from A Vox in the Void. The tales of Loyalists from the Traitor Legions are always heart wrenching.
The emotional sting is worse when you consider how intense the gene-induced sense of brotherhood and instinctive loyalty to their primarch is; it's almost a biological need. That's why they were so desperate to have any connection to him.
The companion peice to this, called "abuse", gives further insight into Angron just before he gives the order for the Nails to be implanted.

A sad fact about Angron. The butchers nails that were driven into him robbed him of some of his primarch powers... namely the one which exudes a kind of aura of majesty where space marines and mortals are driven to want to kneel before the primarch and do as they bid..... as well as a kind of unique healing power which was Angron's alone. Before the nails he was able to (almost like the dude in the green mile) take away people's pain and heal minor wounds... the sad thing about Angron, is that he was most likely designed to be a gentle and healing figure, but fate and the nails had other plans.

Yep, if the primarchs were designed with the idea of redundancy in mind, then Angron was probably designed to be the mirror/ partner for Vulcan. Had he lived free from the nails then Angron may very well have been one of the most humane and noble in the brotherhood. A Devine healer and mender of worlds, rather than their devourer.

@@cappinjocj9316 I'd never though of that (who was Vulkans simulacra). Another f'ed up thing about Angron is that he was on the border of Guilliman's 500 worlds, the Emperor swung by to collect Guilliman, basically passed Angron and left him for unnecessary decades on Nuceria. If he'd looked, big E might have gotten to him before the nails.

@@cappinjocj9316 Personally I always liked the Idea that Angron was meant to be paired with Sanguinius in that originally the Blood Angels were always meant to be the terror legion of berserkers to put the fear of the emperor's wrath in the Imperium's traitors and enemies alike, and feel like the red thirst/black rage were intended as a design feature rather than a flaw. With this in mind I believe Angron's original role was that the Warhounds were meant to be paired with the Blood Angels, keeping them in check while preventing them from being lost to their rage.
Angron: “F*** them kids, yo.” The best summary of the World Eaters I’ve ever heard.
Before Horus betrayed the emperor, he must first destroy the loyalist contingent within his forces, and his allies to ensure total commitment to the cause. They killed 1/3 of their forces in the ensuing conflict. The Istvaan 3 atrocity is such a tragedy.
The Amber king makes amazing long but detailed videos about most legendary individuals in warhammer
Funny story about Cry Havoc. I was talking to someone at my local gamestore about how the first army I was building was WE and he recommend this to listen to. On the drive home I did just that, and by the end I was die hard loyalist demanding death to all traitors! So in the end it did the opposite of me loving them more and loving what they could have been. 40k is very tragic but that is part of the charm. I did end up finishing my army and it is fun to play (despite being filthy chaos haha).
You heard it right, Hya, hearts plural. Space Marines have a bunch of extra organs grafted in as they are moulded into astartes, including a second heart and a third lung 😊

2 hearts, 3 lungs, 2 stomachs, extra kidney and spleen..... they're loaded up.
The best comment I heard about this video, just as Angron said *he* would ask the questions: "Ohhh.... Angron is about to make a lot of sense here and it's going to make me sad."

The Old Man Reacts; You have good taste
Vox in the void is awesome, especially when he goes full GRIM dark, things like the Prey Sight series, or “the gods are dead” series. For stuff that leans more towards dark humour, I highly recommend Baldermort and his Ork narratives about Kronan Da Kunnin, and his inquisition narrative.

I appreciate the introduction to so much content I haven't listened to before. I also enjoy seeing people's reactions to the stuff I do know. So thanks for sharing your journey into the hobby

Thank you so much for coming along this journey with me 🤍
This is by far my favorite from Vox. Abuse gives a good insight to Angron. Also Waking Dogs is more world eaters by Vox in the void
The Horus Heresy can be summed up as daddy issues. Like 49K might have been avoided by a few well-timed hugs.
“What would you know of struggle, perfect son? When have you fought against the mutilation of your mind? When have you had to do anything other than tally compliance's and polish your armor? The people of your world named you "Great One". The people of mine called me slave. Which one of us landed on a paradise of civilization to be raised by a foster father, Roboute? Which one of us was given armies to lead after training in the halls of the Macraggian High Riders? Which one of us inherited a strong, cultured kingdom? And which one of us had to rise up against a kingdom with nothing but a horde of starving slaves? Which one of us was a child enslaved on a world of monsters, with his brain cut up by carving knives? Listen to your blue clad wretches yelling courage and honor, courage and honor, courage and honor! Do you even know the meaning of those words? Courage is fighting the kingdom which enslaves you, no matter that their armies outnumber yours by ten-thousand to one. You know nothing of courage! Honor is resisting a tyrant when all others suckle and grow fat on the hypocrisy he feeds them. You know nothing of honor!”

Angron was an empath. For an alternative storyline look up the 30k story of Anon.
yes more world eaters!!! i saw you did "broken chains" on stream, but the vod didnt have audio, and i still think the best ones are "waking dogs" and "wrath of kharn".
As a world eaters fan I hope you enjoy the tragedy of the legion

I would like to request the character deep dive into Corvus Corax and Konrad Curze by the amber king. He's has Vox voice both primarchs. He even got Warrior Tier to voice Ferrus for his deep dive

@@TwentyTwoHya well, thats pure Lamenter luck, what do you spect.
Vox's videos waking dogs and broken chains follow one world eater that starts remembering who he was before the nails got put in his head. It is very good.
I have been listening to Vox in the Void in my sleep overnight lately 😅 It's just enough weird and satisfying voice-acting to give me comfort. The one that has truly terrified me, however, was ABOMINATION. If you like anything horror, I strongly suggest you listen to that one. The acting is SO good. The story is INSANE!
The tragedy of Angron is that he just wanted to fight and die with his friends. And he was denied seeing them die or even getting vengeance. They died not knowing where he went or if he'd return nor last words. He still retains that and that is what drives him even now.
It's worth noting that it's highly likely that the World Eaters are NOT Angron's legion. The War Hounds were one of the oldest legions in existence, having even taken part in the Unification Wars, meaning they potentially predate the Primarch Project, and were always bloodthirsty killers. To add to that, by the typical rules of primarch gene-seed, they should have been been more gentle and healers, since thats what Angron was supposed to be. Instead, they were already like he was post-nails and a lifetime of suffering. It would go a long way as to explaining why there was no connection between Angron and the legion no matter what they did. Chances are, he was given lefotovers from the 2nd or 11th, or the War Hounds did in fact predate the Primarchs.
The issue with Angron is he was the most fucked over of the Primarchs and after he joins Lorgar during the Shadow Crusade he basically becomes a tool …
This is an amazing story. I can't wait till you learn more about Astartes and about Angron so you can understand why even after he was betrayed and left to die, his hearts still fluttered when he saw approval in his dad's eyes. This is also why, again, I highly recommend only listening to "Abuse" only after you've learned about Angron and the Legion. Daddy issues are a theme that's way too prevalent in 40k lmao
Vox in the Void. A gem💎 🤌🏾

Awesome video!! I would say i still recommend weshammers video on the world world eaters civil war. He covers a story that focuses on the first time the nails were used in battle and how some of his legion stood up to Angron
To get a better grasp of the Emperors actions I highly recommend 'Mistakes of the Emperor' by Old Man Reacts it really frames The Emperor's actions why did the things that he did and we probably get the best look into the character of The Emperor himself.
If you'd like more World Eaters stuff, you should listen to parts 1 and 2 of Waking Dogs narrated by Vox.
The Istvaan 3 massacre. The point of no return.
why not watch dont go from vox?? better then this one
