Bought my first home at 59 y.o., three months before the interest rate hikes. Lost my home and will never have the chance to buy another. Me and my wife left for Turkey where we were granted automatic permanent residency upon purchase of a 75k condo. Food is cheap and tasty, people are nice, services and health are great. We do not speak Turkish but we are slowly learning. We don't ever want to go back to Canada who has done nothing for us except sucking us dry for 35 years and helping everyone in the world except us.

I was born and raised in Canada. Did 20+ years in the military and security services. After what happened through 2020-22 I had it. I will no longer support this utterly corrupt, totalitarian regime. In early 2022 I sadly sold our primary residence which was supposed to be our forever home, but I paid off our debts and converted much of the gains into precious metals. I escaped during covid tyranny with my wife and children and have been living in the rural countryside of Japan for the last 2 years. Plenty of ups and downs but every day we are grateful to not be in Canada, to have done what we did and made the sacrifice to our lives so our children can have a wholesome community and upbringing, and a future.

@@afrivox We tried homeschooling for a while back in Canada. We invested in several thousand dollars worth of Waldorf educational materials that would keep them going to high school. It wasn't easy to homeschool especially amidst all the craziness that was going on. In Japan we found an excellent Waldorf / Steiner school and community that aligns with our values so that's where they go now.

Canada was not worth it for me. During my last year, my landlord evicted me to turn my appartment into an AirbnB and I had no choice but to live in a roaming house... Maybe some other immigrants leave wealthier than they arrived but I rarely came accross those lucky people.... Everyone seems to be struggling if they 1/didn't buy a house 2/ Don't have huge amount of debt.

The positives are : - clean streets, no camp cities - no fent zombies - no Red tape/ excess regulations - Affordable houses and luxury homes more beautiful than Canadian houses - Cost of living 1/10th of Canada - Actually Safer - Beautiful Weather - Beautiful Scenery - Salary is catching up to Canadian Salary, especially with low taxes - Don't need to travel for Quality Vacations since Tourism is Booming - Economic growth - Faster Access to health care. - Better & Fresher Food - Younger population, get to see more kids and life outside - More varied market, can buy an iphone as well as a chinese phone which works perfectly fine for 1/10th of price - Better sense of community and belonging The negatives : - Health care of less quality - Can get too hot in certain regions - Dense cities, with a lot of motorcycles and continuous honking - Motor vehicle accident is number one cause of Death - Salaries are weaker - Drought and water crisis - Less access to social services

My husband is a senior Canadian military officer who has, and continues to express deep concern about the political trajectory of our country. We continue to stand and embrace the traditional judeo Christian values which created Canada, one of the greatest countries in human existence. Unfortunately, we have also realized the reality of our political situation here in Canada, which led us to down the pathway of seeking a second citizenship, shifting assets out of the country and preparing for a new life in the not so distance future. This decison has been challenging for my husband as he has devoted his entire life in the defence of Canada, only to find himself at odds with the 'new Canada'. Unfortunately, this battle is not one that can be fought and won by the military as it is an ideological war which has captured the Canadian institutions while indoctrinating the Canadian population. Each morning I watch my husband proudly prepare his uniform, head to work, and serve our country, while concurrently watching over 100 churches burn without consequence and complete apathy from politicians and enforcement agencies, toppled statues, a morally depraved public education system hell bent on indoctrinating/radicalizing children, political demands for individuals of european decent to be abolished from positions of authority/hand over land/personal assets, profound levels of political censorship and propaganda, increased hostility towards Christians and Jews, DEI/CRT employment standards for maintaining employment or being hired, politically classifying parents as 'threats' to their children, unreguated abortion, the extension of civil rights for certain groups (i.e. leftwing) and erosion of civil rights for others (i.e. conservative), increased taxation and cost of living, illegal seizure and freezing of bank accounts, iIlegally shutting down peaceful protests, erosion of freedom of assembly/speech/religion among many, many other factors. The Canadian Armed Forces, just like all other Canadian institutions, is ideologically compromised, and not just defends, but also advocates for this 'new Canada'. This is not the country he fought to defend. This is not the country or culture we will allow our children to grow up in. However, until our departure we will continue to fight and stand firm in our beliefs while petitioning our MPs, participating in legal and peaceful protests, joining like minded causes and educating the public. We contiue to pray to God, while concurrently organizing a life raft.

Sold my condo and moved here with my boyfriend who`s from here. Now have a 3 bedroom unit (renting) for half what my 2 bedroom in Ottawa was costing me. My bf is opening a small bar soon. It is easy to say it than doing it. If you are young and single don’t think twice just do it. I am thinking about this thing daily. However, i am not that young anymore and have no time and money to start over again. Having 3 kids that counts on you on everything in life makes it harder and harder. I miss smiling, i miss relaxation, i miss sleeping!! Maybe I can’t do it now but i am doing my best to make my kids ready for the future. The world is fucked up, fight or die.

@@D33Lux Not that I’m aware of. Lots of people leave and still collect their pension. One of the ways of getting permanent residency in some Central and South American countries is through their Pensionado programs. That is, you can prove you have a certain amount of monthly pension income. However, I’m no expert and there could be rules or conditions that I’m not aware of.

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become a North Korea style dictatorship in the western world. Their are many reasons why Canada has fallen apart. But the number one reason is ‘multiculturalism’. My friends, multiculturalism simply does not work. Different cultures do not come together and mix, different cultures come together and clash. The world is divided into different countries for a reason: because people hate each other and only want to be with their own kind. The number two reason for Canada’s demise is ‘socialism’. In this modern era of aging populations, it is mathematically impossible for socialism to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions and the various other benefits, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. But the last 4 years taught me that our church, friends and family will most definitely call Gestapo on us and have zero regard for bodily sovereignty and human rights. I expect it to be those who we love that will turn us in round two. I’d feel safer in a country that respected human rights the past 4 years, and challenges the WHO treaty and money printing.

actually, 3 generations of our family felt exactly the way i do they fought in world war 2 and believed that this country was not only worth living for, but dying for. not the politicians we have today, not the people who retain a address here when they "relocate" and continue to draw on our social programs and health care system. my love for this country and my fellow canadians far out-way any contempt i feel for the goverment , crime and corruption we are presently experiencing. i choose to stay, stand and fight!!!

In Toronto we have new Vacant Home Tax. Owner of a house have to report to the City if they didn't leave their property for more than 6 months in a tax year. If you were absent, city will charge you a huge amount of money. If you wouldn't report, they will consider your property vacant and will send you a fat bill. They started it two years ago. It's a violation of privacy to start with. Canada goes down the drain.

@@viaseung Hey there. I really, really like Tucson. It's a very humble place, which I like. Nobody will ever accuse Tucson of being pretentious lol. People here are pretty relaxed on the whole. It's not a go-go-go city like Toronto. It's VERY affordable. Now, home prices have gone up the past several years. but that's the case everywhere. So it's still a relative bargain. When I first moved here 9+ years ago I felt like I died and went to war-mart :) What I like about it: - GREAT weather. I have seasonal affective disorder and arthritic conditions. There is no better place for someone like me than a place that is sunny, warm, and dry. Well, I'm 3.5 hours from literally the sunniest place on earth where people live (Yuma, Az). And it's warm and try. Yes, it's hot in summer, but don't let the numbers scare you away. Dry heat is far more tolerable than humid. I'd rather been in Tucson at 40 than Toronto at 28C. - very reasonable commute times. It's a small-mid-sized city. Here, a 30 minute drive is a hardship. In the GTA, by comparison, that's just plain normal - or good! - literally (LI-TER-A-LLY!) EV-ER-Y-THING costs less here with only 3 exceptions: healthcare (but the wait times are less and doctors actually have to earn your business because, unlike Canada, it doesn't take 2 years to find a new one), education, and sushi. In many ways, Tucson is exact opposite of Vancouver. Vancouver: mild, wet, and unbelievably expensive for everything but healthcare, education, and sushi. Tucson, hot, dry, and unbelievably cheap for everything but (wait for it) healthcare, education, and sushi. If you want to hear something crazy, it's literally cheaper for me to order Tim Horton's coffee bags to here on Amazon than it is for me to walk into Tim Hortons in Ajax when I go back to visit. Not a joke. - great natural beauty - mountains, cacti, palm trees, and beautiful desert flora. - If you're adventurous, there's lots of places worth visiting that are roadtrips away (e.g., Sedona, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, San Diego, LA, Bisbee, Tombstone, Rocky Point Mexico). On Scottsdale. I've visited there briefly a few times. It's the nicest part of the Phoenix metropolis. Having said that, I never get good vibes when I go to Phx. And whenever I talk to people with much more Phx experience than me, they all agree with my assessment that it feels to me like a soul-less concrete jungle. Traffic can be bad there, and it's significantly hotter there than Tucson. If it's 42C in Tucson, it's probably 45-46 there. That matters. I have shared my assessment of Phx with probably 10 people, several of whom have lived there. Every single one of them has agreed with me without caveat. A friend of mine who is from Scottsdale and came to Tucson for several years for school and is now back in Scottsdale living in an absolutely amazing apartment tells me he misses Tucson. But yeah, I love Tucson and would probably sooner shoot myself in the face before moving back to Canada. I wish that weren't so. I've always been a proud Canadian and will always consider myself Canadian first. While I'm in a luxurious situation, insulated from the crap going on up there, I can tell you that it brings me no pleasure seeing my country becoming a leading cause of depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

@@cardiogirl798 hey :) So, I *hear* about this water crisis, but haven't noticed it affecting my life in anyway. Maybe my water bills are higher than they would have been 20 years ago. As for the heat, don't let the raw numbers fool you. Dry heat is - for most people - FAR more bearable than humid heat. I would rather be in Tucson @ 40C than Toronto at 28C. I personally have only seen one snake in over 9 years. Maybe 1-2 scorpions. However, I'm not someone who's super outdoorsy. Were I a frequent hiker or camper I'd see them more often, I'm sure. I do sometimes see javelinas (small hairy boar-like things) in my neighborhood. I see roadrunners semi-regularly. There are small little mountain lion type things around here - I saw one in my neighborhood once, and my neighbor saw one, too. Probably like 30-40 pounds. Anyhow, yeah, none of those things have bothered me. I expected the heat to bother me. I just figured that I'd live in Tucson in summer how I lived in Canada in winter - limit my time outside for a few months. But it'd still be better, as there'd be no snow on the ground messing with driving, nothing to shovel, and I wouldn't get SAD. But, interestingly, it has not been that bad. You limit your time outside during the day. But once the sun goes down it's much more tolerable and you can go out. And even during the raw heat of the day, it's not sticky so you don't feel like you constantly need a shower.

Sadly im to poor to leave this country. I just throw majority of what money i make into bitcoin

I was poor before 2019, we become poor when we give all our money away. Start saving, stop buying coffee, ordering food, going to restaurants, and shopping. You have to build your own wealth, start with saving $3 every week, after a few weeks, save $3 every day if you can. And don’t trust anyone else with your savings… no one else is going to help you, they are going to try to get it off you. While you are saving, educate yourself, learn about investing, economics, and business. In 3 years, you won’t be so poor.

If everyone became an investor/digital nomad who moves from country to country, then who's going to do the real work? Without people doing the real work, a country falls.

You find out a lot about a country when you experience their health care system, regardless of your age. Ask yourself "If I get really sick in this country how will I get treated and what will it cost me?" This should be "one" of top items in the check list when choosing another country.

@@gold707786 The región does have a history of political instability, but Colombia has shown a lot of improvement over the past several years. Other possibilities are Uruguay (very stable), Paraguay, Chile, Peru, maybe Ecuador, Argentina, or El Salvador (now the safest country in Central/South America.

Been looking at leaving to the US, want to move to a coastal city in a smaller town. It's not easy to move to the US without employer sponsorship, healthcare is still an issue but once you get it sorted quality of care will be much much higher than Canada as long as you can get insurance. Housing is much more affordable in the US. I don't want to be stuck in Canada when the housing bubble pops and a divided and now angry population is out of home and looking for revenge.

I’d be careful about that one. I’ve been in the US 10 years now due to marriage after the vast majority of my life in Canada, if you think it’s cheaper in the US good luck I hope you find a good job with great health insurance and I hate to tell you, but some of the best hospital systems don’t do any better than the Canadian ones too. You wait And their hospital staff is not more burnt out than they are in Canada. There’s nothing wrong with Canada. Trust me.

@@manbtm1 It really depends on where in the US you decide to live. Some states are much more affordable than others. However, the US in general has also been on a downward slide the last few years. I’m originally from Canada and moved to Tennessee two years ago. I love it here but may have to consider other options if things don’t turn around in the next year or so. Looking at South America where my limited income will go farther.

A little too much of me me me to hold my attention. It’s nice I guess to be so enamoured with one’s own opinions, views, and lifestyle - bit it becomes really tiresome in a hurry. I could only stand about 8 minutes worth of that before I lost patience.

Canadian here (also a UK passport holder). I left Canada in 2001 to go teach in Korea. I never returned, and have spent the past 23 years in Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Germany, Scotland, and now Thailand. Canada is over. Get out if you can (maybe Costa Rica, Thailand, anywhere really). I actually went home to southern Ontario for xmas last year and was shocked at how far mass immigration has gone. Honestly, check out Thailand. You'll love it. For those of us who grew up in canada, but missed out on buying a house, or buying into the "real estate stock exchange", if youre over 40, the chances of ever owning a house are pretty small unless you receive an inheritance. Basically, you need to face a new reality. You will be working 40+ hrs per week just to afford to exist, for the rest of your life, until you die.

It makes the most sense for Canadians to flee to the US, if they can. Canada, or particularly Toronto, where I was born and raised, was hopeless and unlivable for me even over ten years ago. I had a chance to live permanently in the US, and it was the best choice I made in the last 10 years. Things in the US have changed for the worse since I've arrived but it's still much better conditions to progress and build wealth than Canada. I plan to make my wealth here and enjoy life in southeast Asia.

@@truckeraccountant I live in the US but I'd probably never live in California, unless I was making over 250k usd, which is very possible for many people moving there. same applies to ever moving back to my hometown of Toronto, but making decent money in Toronto and Canada as a whole is next to impossible, meanwhile having a comparable cost of living to Californian cities. so even I would have a likelier chance of living in California than the cold despair of greater Toronto.

I have lived in Belarus before, now I am in Canada you have done the right thing. I speak English and russian but my russian is not strong, do you think it is easy to find a decent job there which requires only English?

I’m finishing up work in the U.S. and was thinking of returning to Canada to retire. I’m not coming until Trudeau is long gone. Even then it will take a long time to fix the damage, if it can be fixed.

It would be interesting to hear what specific things have "gone downhill". Here are the GDP figures from 2019 thru 2022, a four year period within the last six years. Canada gdp for 2022 was $2,161.48B, a 7.67% increase from 2021. Canada gdp for 2021 was $2,007.47B, a 21.25% increase from 2020. Canada gdp for 2020 was $1,655.68B, a 5.05% decline from 2019. Canada gdp for 2019 was $1,743.73B, a 1.07% increase from 2018. To me that just doesn't seem like "gone really down hill". In fact I'd say that was pretty reasonable performance on the economic front. In that both of these presenters are interested in economics, one would think that's what they were talking about. Perhaps not. Perhaps they were referring to a serious decline in the number of available ice cream flavours. Who knows?

My husband and I are actively in the early stages of tossing the idea around of leaving Canada after he retires.

Think about this: people have been coming to Canada for decades in search of a better life. The same people can move somewhere else. I moved, my friend moved, I am glad I did. I asked at the shipping company that moved my car and two containers of stuff - their business is booming. It simply does not make sense to be paying these taxes, these rents and if lucky - mortgages. And the car insurance. Canada I grew up in is gone and now so is me. The obvious prime choice is US but I moved to Europe to a non-English speaking country. This country needs me and other expats. 4 weeks of paid vacation time to greet me. Good luck with the people who are coming now.

A lot of people are going to the place of their parentage...the same countries our parents escaped we're going back for a better quality life

Before going anywhere check their affiliation with orgs like WEF, UN, UNESCO, WHO, etc. If that country is involved you may as well stay in Canada.

More important to check their crime rates, government stability, and frequency of hurricanes, flooding, earthquakes.

I left canada 50 years ago. Now i have perfect weather, no property tax, no income tax .i pay 17 $ for power, 3$ for good and lots of drinking water. Free to do what i want on my own property, can fish and hunt no licenses needed. No car or house insurance need. My house is brick steel construction. Paradise here. Very friendly people. Viva México.

1st of heard of anyone LEAVING CANADA other than to return to their homeland for the winter eh......

My family is heading to Central and South America. Looking at Nicaragua and Paraguay. Low cost of living.
