sorry I was late, had to get a new laptop. My baby decided to go with the great computers in the sky. In all seriousness I'm kind of sad to lose that laptop it's been with me longer than this journey on KZread has been. It got me here and well, it matters a lot.
music: twinkle park : connections and feelings ( its on bandcamp)
Kevin Macleod - its on incompetech
thank you for watching and good luck in all your endeavors.

Original Vash lived in desert and looked like weary traveller, new Vash just spawned in the middle of desert, clean washed and shaved he looks fake.

The original Trigon was my first Anime I watched front to back. I liked Stampede well enough but I'd describe it as better animated than the original but it lacked the layers of mystery in the world that the original had. The new one gives you details about Vash and Wolfwood and everyone with a lot less satisfaction. It feels like it suffers because it knew it couldn't keep that same level of mystery after the original already happened and told all those secrets.

I still havent gotten a chance to watch Stampede but right off the bat, I really like the animation. Studio Orange does not miss with their 3D. One thing I'm not a fan of is the idea of Vash using karate to solve a lot of his problems because one, he's a cowboy and two it takes away a lot of creativity when it comes to winning a gunfight without killing your oponents and by having him easily melee his opponents into submission is kind of a crutch.

I feel like Trigun Stampede is a show that would greatly benefit from a second season. Like you, I saw the original 90's anime first and loved it. Funnily enough though, I feel that both iterations of Trigun capture a different type of magic. The original is more episodic and mysterious, which makes the heavier moments stronger. Having watched Stampede twice now, I can see where you're coming from in terms of feeling like the narrative is a bit rushed. Even so, I think I prefer Stampede presently because of how it showcases Vash and Knives' conflict. That aspect of Stampede far exceeds the 90's anime in my opinion and makes me want to read the manga. The 90's version is a certified classic and I think if Stampede can get a second season and develop some of its messier aspects, it can be a classic too. The heart and soul of the story is still the same in my eyes. It's interesting to compare them to each other though and I definitely agree with some of the points you made. The animators and composers are giving their all while the storytelling is...stumbling a bit. It's not bad by any means, but certain moments we remember from the original don't land as strongly as they could have. Stampede has great potential though and I want a second season so bad. Anyway, nice video. Enjoyed it. Best wishes and God bless you.

As someone who LOVED the original when it first premiered in English, and still rewatches it to this day, I really freaking enjoyed Stampede. I loved the pacing, I loved the world and its aesthetic, loved the villains, and I was really happy at all the easter eggs. I love that Vash's personality and morals were still accurate and present. I did not love Meryl at all, and Robert was a disposable unlikeable character to me. That's my only nitpick. Also, Knives is a lot more sympathetic and relatable in Stampede compared to the original. As if the story was justifying him and his reasons.

oh yeah and NO FANSERVICE! How often do I see that in this genre? As well as removing the creepy perv-tendencies from Vash, I was quite happy to NOT see that

there was definitely some changes to the story that were positive. I just think they lost some of the moments that made trigun stampede a hallmark of a show for me.i couldn't for the life of me figure out, why they took the direction they did with certain choices. thank you for watching.

It should be noted that Stampede pulled A LOT from the manga, which is the original source material. While the 90's anime is incredible, it deviated very much from the manga (not really its own fault, the manga got cancelled and repicked up later on after the anime had gone on for a while). And I think that a lot of the people who dislike the changes in Stampede haven't read the manga. Also a season 2 has been confirmed.

To start, I enjoyed Trigun Stampede. I think to get the most out of it, you shouldn’t compare it to the og, as doing that is when the cracks start to show. I think you practically summed up my thoughts on it perfectly. The only things I can say is that the character designs were pretty hit or miss. While I liked from the get-go, Vash’s design grew on me as time went on and some changes were either not big enough to matter or were a welcome change (they somehow made Monev go from having a solid design to having one of the bests in the show), while others had much to be desired. While it worked for the setting, I wasn’t entirely a fan of Knives’ design, and Legato had one of the worst downgrades I’ve ever seen, but that’s just me. Good job on the video and I’ll definitely be checking out more of your content!

@@FeministCatwoman I get that point of view. The way I see it, og was focused on the characters while Stampede was focused on the story. Each have their flaws but neither one is bad, at least to me, it just boils down to preference

I'm with you on this one in general, although I'm a bit more critical about the animation. While this wasn't the dumbster fire I was afraid of, it didn't supersede the original.

Yeah, it's not meant for you. I don't mean that to be rude, but I think having such a fondness for the original of something, is often going to make you like a remake less. Your brain automatically makes negative comparisons that don't exist in a new viewer. It's a damn good show for what it is. Maybe there's a few wonky bits in the animation, but overall the fidelity for a CG show, the cinematography, style, set pieces, they are excellent. Basically everything you describe the original made you feel, I got from Stampede. The couple of people I got to watch the show also thoroughly enjoyed it.
