I saw Good Burger 2. I had fun watching it. It's what I expected in a Good Burger movie. A good old fashion "Turn Your Brain Off" movie. I feel like today's movies and tv shows of 2023 don't do that anymore. They need to bring the fun and "Turn Your Brain Off" back into movies.

Good Burger 2 was nostalgic fun and i definitely laughed out loud at some parts but it felt like a cheap made for TV movie to me. You could tell the filmmakers loved and appreciated the material, but it could’ve used a better script to help anchor the good jokes that the movie did have.

I believe Ed 2 was to engage younger kids with the sequel. Since Kenan & Kel aren't in high school, Ed 2 was likely added to appeal to the younger demographic. Although Mia was there, she filled Monique's former role in that Dexter is attempting to win her over. While Dexter was in love with Monique during the first movie, he wanted to reconnect with his family in this sequel through a similar context (Though the backstory of Dexter's family between both films don't really connect). I liked the message conveyed on the dangers of an automated workforce, they still poked fun at human error. Overall, I liked the sequel.

Kel is actually a youth pastor now. His main focus is on his church since he gave his life to Christ. I just watched one of his sermons this week.

Keenan did this as a favor to Kel for sure but he really should have given it his all while filming because Kel did , Kel definitely took the opportunity very seriously and was almost identical to his younger self in performance , thats commitment.

@ChaosTheory9 and Kenan while I'm sure appreciates his routes, wants to move on Soo Many kel fan boys hate Kenan cause they feel he "abandoned" him.kel is a grown ass man though.kenan busted his ass to make it where he is now Kel maybe was more "talented" but wasn't able you dapt that talent to make it to where Kenan got to But nah I'm wrong cause the secret evil Hollywood lizard people made Kelly pay for not bending over for them lol sorry I just got into it with some conspiracy nuts 😂

I'd compare it to Dumb and Dumber To where they rode the wave of nostalgia and did nothing to warrant it happening. If you're gonna revisit a comedy duo in the vein of Dumb and Dumber, or this, you gotta go with the clever route that Beavis and Butthead are on with it showing them being funny to their core, not feel sad watching them play dress up over 20 years ago

You forgot the Yung Gravy. Also I'm glad we have Kate because I always wanted Kurt and Mondo Burger to return but Kurt having a sister who wants revenge also works. And Mia is poorly written. One minute she hates Dexter the next minute she loves him. She's like Kate Lang in the beginning of Quantumania.

Great Review. I think you brought up a good point about things not translating well with time. but I actually think that it might be something else. going back and watching a lot of 90's TV and Movies there is a certain charm and quality that is just not there in modern entertainment. it felt like writers and filmmakers were putting in their all to make the best product imaginable even if its something as silly as Good Burger. now because streaming writers and filmmakers are having to bang out products as quickly as possible and it affects the quality because it turns a labor of love into a product. Like you can feel the love and passion oozing off the screen from the art direction of the first film. The colors pop and have a lot of warmth. rather then the washed out digital look of the new film. and maybe its also modern filmmakers fears of seeming cringe? who knows but there is some element that has been lost over time that I don't think is easy to replicate.

I agree. Rewatching the original immediately after the sequel, there was a noticeable difference in how things looked and were executed. That deeper contrast when shot on film just feels more like a movie.
