It’s alright I guess, what do you think about American nightmare? I feel that the narrative on that one was a bit weaker, but the gameplay and enemy variety was certainly leagues above the original game.

We need more games like this but no we have only cash grab companies with micro transactions

Every videogame is a cash grab.

Alan Wake is one of my all time favorite games, I bought the collector’s edition at launch and I replay it often. I live in Washington where the game takes place and they did a fantastic job with the environment, so that aspect makes the game even more creepy for me. One thing to note is the original wasn’t intended to be a horror game, the developers said it was a psychological thriller, while the sequel is going to be an actual survival horror game.

I love this game and the dlc. Its a classic.

A lot of the night springs TV episodes explain themes that this game goes through. Even gives you hints on what they want to do in the future. It's pretty cool!! Love this game ever since i first played it!

The title is really clickbaity for the amount of praise you gave. I would have said "BETTER" personally to keep with my true thoughts and words used in the actual video. My only complaint for the game was there is no replayability and no secret costumes or guns or anything. Other then that. Its a good one time playthrough game with a grippingly confusing story.

I haven't watched this vid all the way through because I haven't finished the game yet (wasn't sure if there were spoilers). I'm really enjoying it so far. I will say, it took some getting use to because it's been a while since I've played anything other than RE games tbh. I love all the references to old shows and movies such as Twin Peaks, The Birds and other classic horror movies. Looking forward to the new game (if I can get my hands on it). Also, I promise to come back and watch this vid all the way through once I finish the game.

Calling Alan wake boring is insane to me 💀 it’s not perfect but it’s so different especially for the time it released. Twilight zone meets twin peaks what’s not to love

Now I know we all have our own opinions and I can see some of your reasoning behind your thoughts on the game. However for me, I'd often find it to be a sort of hidden gem (I had played it on the 360 back in the day) Now I do agree, the 1st DLC, The Signal, was quite slow, however the way I undersyood is that it was not supposed to be action oriented like it was throughout the base game. Rather it's more of a psychological struggle for Alan Wake as he is literally trying to defeat an Edlritch/Cosmic entity (Same with the 2nd DLC, The Writer) While there is combat, it's more spiritual in a sense (thats honestly the way I could best describe that xD). Of course this gets further explained in the games, Alan Wake's American Nightmare hich details more of his war against the Dark Presence, as well as Control which focuses solely on a war against resonance based entities (i.e. the Hiss, but also the Dark Presence if you got the AWE dlc [Alan Wake Expansion]) Now again, these are simply my thoughts/opinions of the game and counter-arguements are most certaintly welcome. But in either case, it's nice seeing the game being talked about again especially with Alan Wake 2 having just released.

I’m playing it for the second time and enjoying it more this time around, I really enjoy the small things like the radio, tv, and Barry , I’ll just smoke chill and listen to the music pretty chill time. I can’t wait for the second game I hope it feels like re2 remake and I’m excited for it to be gorey

As a Stephen King fan and Twin Peaks enjoyer I loved Alan Wake. Is it perfect? No. Do I care if it is? Hell no. Music was great. I have Old Gods of Asgard in my playlist and listen to it almost every day. :D And Remedy are masters of having one crazy scene that everybody remembers. Alan Wake has Farm/music stage, Control Ashtray Maze, Max Payne had the crazy dream scenes. And their world building is out of this world. Don't know if they have a plan or they just take unresolved plot points from older games and use them in another games but it just works. :D BTW: Before AW2 you should play AW: American Nightmare and Control. Rest of the Remedy games should be mentioned only in easter eggs but AW: AM and Control are in the same universe and there could be stuff you should know.

It is a good game 7.5 all day long

Flaws and all, the story has grown on me some. The combat though can get tedious though. Especially during harder encounters.

ALAN WAKE 2 HYPE 🔥

I never understood the hype for this game. 99% of the game is just Alan flashing and shooting enemies for 20 hours. It has no enemy variety and no changes of pace. That being said, I am so excited for the sequel it will be more Resident Evil-ish. Why would anyone need a sequel with the same pacing as the first game? This is the right direction.

I feel like we both played a different game. The game is not that hard the way you descibed it. How did you even ran out of ammo? My biggest concern through out the game is how to spend the ammo I have before I get the next one😅 Also, you might feel the first dlc not important, but the purpose of it is to show how strong the Dark Presence is. This is one of Alan Wake manny attempts to beat it. You'll relise that more if you play the American Nightmare.

Controls were very weird and clunky. But the story is great! I hope the combat gameplay is improved for the sequel

I just pre ordered Alan Wake 2 today and I’m actually looking forward to it. Remedy said the sequel will be more of a survival horror game than an action game like the first one. They said they want to focus less on u taking out enemies and more so on resource management, environment, and the atmosphere of the game being more horror which is why I’m more interested in the sequel. The first Alan wake is the only game that Remedy has developed that I don’t like. I love all their other games so I hope Alan Wake 2 fixes the problems I had with the first game which are pretty much the same problems u had with the first game.

I just played it for the first and beat the first chapter. To be frank, I was not a fan. Alan Wake is a moody little tit baby. And it annoyed the hell out of me. Wasn't even scary either.

Most videogames have you fighting the same enemy type. Ever played a single call of duty?

I played this game when it came out, all the way through, and I extremely hated it. It was boring as hell, the flashlight was a gimmick that felt lazy, it's narrative plot was tired. It got WAAAAAYYYYY too much hype for what it was, every reviewer at the time of launch I swear was a paid prostitute from how bad they were on this game's balls. This game was NOT a horror game in the least, at best a suspense-thriller if I'm being nice. I hated the game, I hate Alan the most, but I finished the game entirely to give it a chance and ensure I wasn't just being a hating douche bag, but it was underwhelming, hyped the f/(% up; like to the extent I thought either reps from the game studio were screwing staff for good reviews, or being paid well to speak well about it, all in all, everyone feels one way about this game and to each their own, it's their money after all, but at least for me, fuck this game to hell for all eternity, next.
