I use Delano pickups in both my precision and jazz basses. They are premium pickups so that factors into your tone and the overall quality and price of the instrument.
It did come across how much you liked that bass. You often had a surprised look, as in "Wow. This thing is amazing!"
I have a Sandberg TM 5 UltraLite with all Bartolini electrics and pickups I put in and love it
Their basses have definitely grown on me in the last two years, my buddy has bought two of them and absolutely loves them and the light weight of them, and he’s owned a ton of basses
Great review, mate. Never thought I'd sell my Dingwall, but I might do so to get one of these comfortable bad boys.
Man your Amp sim tone just does it for me every time, no matter what bass you are running into it.

Love to see this, love the video
Love Sandberg 48. Awesome style with all of the same/similar features
Really enjoyed the review. Been thinking of getting one maybe… Came into a small bit of cash and still trying decide if I should use responsibly or on a new bass. I’ve watched a few Sandberg demos already of the past few days and yours has been one of the more informative ones for sure!

Glad to have helped!! Thanks 😊
I just got a 2024 Sandberg California TT Goldburst Hardcore Relic with Delano pickups from Chicago Music Exchange and I am loving this bass so much in every way! Plays great, sounds great, feels great, and looks great! The bridge saddle adjustment is very unique and takes a moment to understand. Overall, I’m totally digging it and my band mates have commented in how good it sounds. I’m already planning on getting another one, just because!!

Amazing!! Congrats 🥳
Hey Jonny. Much preferred the sound demo approach - usually listen to a couple and then skip ahead, but was great hearing your running commentary of what you’re experiencing that perhaps my iPhone speakers are not accurately replicating the tone of! 🤙

That’s great to hear. Appreciate it pal!
Im a sucker for Sandbergs except their new body shapes. I have a pre 2018 TM5 with the classic jazz body which I love but damn is it a heavy bass. I liked the tone demo Johnny! Its better to comment the tones straight away than to just roll all the clips imo. Feels more “integrated” into the review. Also Im very happy how far your channel got. I found about your channel when you reviewed the electra sandberg couple years ago so this video feels kinda nostalgic.

Look at the Ultalight it’s a game changer for sure
Delano pickups are so awesome I have a set in my p bass that gives it the punch of a p bass and the grind of a music man gives the bass a lot of character been wanting to her a jazz style for awhile now that thing sounds sick!
Id like to get a Californian ( German made ) bass , ive got 2 Electra series ones ( Korean made ) ones . I like them alot. I really do like their neck profile and zero nut .
Bro just the DI sound makes the cut for me. What a beauty, I mean, everything about it, construction, premium parts and incredible sound, which seems really versatile. 2K it's a lot, really ain't for me, but for someone who makes music music as a living, this could be it. Nice review once again :)

2k isn’t a lot when you consider it‘s built in Germany and has build quality on par or better than the fender custom shop for example
I'll just put this here before watching: Yes, they are worth it. Edit: Just coming back after the video to say: Told you! ;)
It will only be a matter of time till I have a Sandberg bass. Maybe a VT with a humbucker in the bridge position. 😎 I only see and hear good things about these basses. But I am not sure if my Ampeg PF500 head will like the active bass signal.
I was wondering does anyone know the difference between their Blacklabel TT pickups and the Delanos
@MadMagicPaul
28 күн бұрын
The Black Label are stacked humbuckers.
The best Sandberg by now is the tm 4 with a humbacker in the back
I had a long, LONG gas list with tons of Fenders, Lakland Skylines, Charvels, Sires, Squiers, Epiphones. Than I‘ve stumbled over a Sandberg California TT and was relieved from gas. Maybe another Sandberg will do. Johnny, how would you compare the Electra to a german Sandberg?
@JonnyDibble

I’ve not tried the TT Electra, but I’ve had the M4 and V4. I reviewed the T4 and I wasn’t impressed with the sound. BUT everything else was absolutely amazing. I think the Electra jazz bass one would be really good as it suits this pickup/preamp style
Those sandbergs are weightless !!
❤❤❤❤
You couldn’t make a tone I didn’t like. Excellent instrument.
Jah!
great review that sounds awesome really farted my speakers out
Would love this without the zero fret.

I always thought zero fret to be a sign of quality - no reason to do it apart from consistency on the open strings....
Sounds good but too expensive. I think my Stingray sounds as good. It's a Sterling with Seymour Duncan pup and pre-amp.
@PorchBass

Stingray every time.

They are pricey but as far as first-world manufactured jazz basses go they are an amazingly good deal, especially used. But I agree, why would you want to play any jazz bass when you could play a Stingray instead.
@PorchBass

@@57precision I always come back to 57 style P basses after the fancy ones.
Love the chunky sound and general looks, but the hooked head stock is no for me.. Well out of my price range anyway!!
Consistency can be expensive
my 75's Japan Almirez with Crel pickups sounds much better 😁
It sounds like every other active jazz bass on the market. Slap the electronics into a budget brand and you'll get the same sound. I'm not seeing a justification for the price tag.

I think the attack response is much better than a budget instrument. The playability is definitely an improvement. I’m a huge advocate for affordable instruments though!

Also you really need to get a sandberg in your hands to understand where the money has gone.

This. Sound can be dialed in with amps/preamps/plugins/pedals, but handling, balance, hardware, fretwork, woodwork and fit&finish of Sandberg basses are unrivaled in their price Tier (excl. Sadowsky NY).

I was in shop today and I got to try and Electra VS4 and a California VS4 35th Anniversary British Racing green. The Elettra felt really good nice weight and sounded great too... Super low action and was really nice to play. The California was a step up, in terms of overall quality workmanship feel and sound. The Elettra VS4 punches above a MIM vintera fender any day of the week. California's have quite a price range depending on finish and materials... With Masterpiece aged versions at the top of the price range. I honestly don't think I would consider a fender again... Unless it was something very specific.

I have basses... A Harley Benton JB62 that I'm very fond of .. I also have more expensive instruments including a Sandberg VS4 and I can tell you that while the HB is fantastic Value it feels and sounds quite far from a Sandberg. Also if you put the same electronics and pick ups into a budget bass and have a proper professional set up (don't forget all Sandberg basses are factory PLEK'd) add this on top and you easily reach 50% of a California but without the neck/bridge materials etc. You pays your money you takes your choice
Its paulownia body, pau ferro fingerboard...

The Delano aren't even the best pickups for this bass. The Sandberg Black Labels sound better. Not sure why they sent the one with the Delano.
Your premier came at a bad time... The Donald Trump "hush money trial" jury just came back with guilty on all 34 felony counts.
