Thanks for playing this one. I had forgotten it till you played it and I LOVE your reactions. I was born in 62 so I am a baby Boomer X Gen. It was so perfect. My sister sang backup for Capital Records and her manager was a most awesome rich black dude with the most 70's round apartment ever. All the 70's vibes with the round waterbed and sunken living room, wet bar. He even had a purple Cadillac Limo. I grew up with so many cool bands from Beatles to Funk in the 70's and on as it progressed into 80's stuff like this one and some great 90's ones too. Lenny Kravitz is still amazing! I have so many songs I would love to recommend. Will send u some suggestions. I just cannot relate to rap. I liked some hip hop but I love horns and other cool stuff on Rock! Motown is a big love of mine too. Even got to go to Sun Records for my sister to audition. I was a VERY blessed kid! I didn't have it easy but still feel sorry for anyone not checking out Rock and R&B stuff from the past. It is a huge part of my life and always has been. I hope true Rock and those amazing vocal harmonies singing come back and on VINYL! The way it was described to me is that the groove of a record plays deep!!!! You pick up all that depth. Mine are still unscratched cause I use a good needle and gently wipe the diamond tip needle with a soft velvet puff and the album before and after use. 0% hiss or static after decades. They are not expensive. Just get some good speakers. Digital loses so much in translation. I have said that since the first time I heard it. It's flat. I will be singing this song you played all day now but this time it will be a fun thing to have stuck in my head! I will send you guys some suggestions. Start off with anything Motown and 70's Earth, Wind and Fire. I also loved Chicago and ELO back then. Maybe check out Earth Wind and Fire's "September." Great intro song and on the other end Carol King who wrote so many songs for others before putting one out herself. Try her "So Far Away" and "You make me feel like a Natural Woman." Oh and PLEASE listen to the actual lyric's version of "Vehicle" by the Ides of March." The words make that song! It still gives me chills! Start singing and harmonizing again everybody. Join in to the human condition not just the anger. These emotions are more effective when expressed in R&B.

I was a student in Florence Italy when this song was out, along with George Michael and Aretha Franklin's hit I knew You Were /waiting and Jody Watley's Looking for a New Love were all on European MTV in rotation along with MJ and Prince. When I'd come home from classes, Id watch an (Dubbed into Italian)episode of Batman or Rocky and Bullwinkle(Which actually helped me learn Italian a lot faster) and then I'd watch some MTV and dance like no one was watching, cause they weren't! Ahhhh Good Times!

Great trio of songs tonight; THIS was my favorite. Thanks for the 80’s memories! Jay, being that you’re a hip hop head, on a local rap/R&B station back in the 90’s/00’s, they’d play “C’est La Vie” on Throwback Thursdays. It was a reverse crossover hit. ✌🏽
