In a way, Davie actually inspired Charles to run his KZread channel. Charles was the "pro" in every davie504's fiver related videos (where Davie challenges random fiver bassists to make tough baselines), and he got the well deserved fame after Davie challenged him in a base battle. Good times.
You've just got to love it when two of (probably) the best bass players on YT is challenging each other.
Both you guys are awesome. I love this challenge. you should have a Live bass off with a 3rd party judge just for fun. Try to match and then one up each other. in the end share a solo riff to top it all off
Both of you are very creative. Always find new ways to improve. And having fun doing it.
I was very happy to see For Whom The Bell Tolls at number 6. A metal baseline you can actually hear lol.
Nice that you have your own channel! I've seen you play at davie504s and you are always absolutely awesome!
I would love to see you and Davie to play a bass version of Tommy Emmanuel's instrumental Classical Gas (originally by Mason Williams), and see how each of you interpret it.
The level of talent and trained skill here is astounding.
I actually liked Davie's song selection in this one. Some of Charles were a little difficult to guess. But it love this DavieXCharles going on rn
Just found your channel. 60 year old arty-muso loving every minute of your variety, humour and virtuoso tomfoolery. Thanks old bean.
This is so fun. I love how you and Davie find the silliest ideas to poke at each other's channel.
Try the Good Bad and the ugly doing all parts on bass with 50 of you playing each part in the little windows. You are absolutely freaking amazing. Keep it up.
I got the first couple, could almost hear a bunch of those in my head... never heard of Fat Larry or his band but with the sound it was almost exactly what I thought it would be like. Fun challenge!

Finally a worthy arch nemesis. Gotta keep this going. Great vid...too much fun. Thanks, 🤘
Jamiroquai is great for funk bass players! A bit like the Chilis where the bass part is often a lot more than just supportive. I find stuff like Too Young To Die quite satisfying to play. 😎👌
This is so much fun to watch. Spectacular, entertaining and ingenious
This feud is so much fun 😂. Your channels are awesome music Thank you so much. PS Stanley Clark and Tony Levin. Above All.
Your musical spidey sense is astounding, I always get much pleasure out of watching your talent shine in different ways. Great idea for a challenge .
Respect to you for trying to help Davie504 reach his 11th subscriber. #helpingthelittleguys
Love the camaraderie and friendly rivalry between you and Davie.
OMG.. The two Masters of BASS!! God bless you two 🙌
Challenge: come up with a baseline you like that, with the same fingering in a "radically different" alternate tuning, is still musically pleasing. "Radically different" means at least two used strings are retuned by a different number of half steps.
Always love to see a Davie & Charles collab!
Both are incredible! Congratulations men!
I expected Davie to tune into some insane tuning like ABCD and play something ordinary on it, would have been both impossible and hilarious
Being subscribed to both channels: "I'm playing both sides so that I always come out on top."
I got the first three. it's really impressive how you figure out that he's using a drop tuning just by looking at how he plays!
Stuart Zender bass lines are class dude!!! 🤘🏻 He played the best hits, the first few albums 👌🏻 I mean, he not a soloist, slapper.... but really cool
You get an "A", Charles! Good to see your channel has grown!
This was a fun challenge, love when you collaborate with/threaten Davie!
You and I have a VERY different definition of “failed.” You did AMAZING!!!
this is great, davie really did a good performing recreating the sound of a bass in rock all the way to metal
7:06 that one made it in the early 90s through De La Soul's Ring Ring Ring, and later in the 2000s through GTA Vice City's OST (Radio Fever 105).
I love the Charles and Davie504 combo videos.
Lol the first 6 ones are propably also the first ones that any bassits wants to learn. The later 4 are usually the ones where beginners start to struggle and Nr. 11 is the one where they start questioning their life choices! XD
