See, i would be scared that 2010's fashion is coming back but if you compare actual 2000's fashion with 2000's fashion that's popular today, there's a pretty big difference and it's more of an infulence from the era with some specific trends resurging then an actual revival, so im assuming what's happening with the 10's as well. Excited to see where fashion takes us in the next couple years

That's such a positive way to look at it, instead of complaining that everything is coming back way too soon! I'm also always happy when the trends are changing because I just generally enjoy fashion so much. I also find it interesting that there were a lot of trends in the 2000/2010s that I didn't like at the time and now I strangely am not opposed.....maybe if I had worn them all I wouldn't be so keen, who knows.

My issue with all post 2000s fashion is you can really tell when fast fashion starts to come into play. There was also a recession. The fabrics are all cheap and synthetic but it's over-designed with micropleats and ruffles and sequins and all these little embellishments that do nothing to hide how quickly and poorly it was assembled. They're clothes that look cheap. There are some ideas worth resurrecting, but I worry that if the wrong stuff becomes popular again, it's going to be so easy for fast fashion companies to lean into it.

As someone who was born in 2000, all the cool girls wore clothes like this and at the time we couldn’t really afford to buy a lot of clothes, so I got a lot of stuff from garage sales. So it’s kinda tempting to dress how teenage me wanted to dress now that I can, but I’m not sure if I want to 😂

I was a so confused when I started hearing people on the internet saying that 2010's was the worst fashion decade, when just a few years ago we were all saying that about the 2000s (which I still think they are worst). But I think, since I wore very basic, twee or 90s inspired outfits, which I still like, I kinda forgot about the most infamous styles, which weren't great IMO. Especially the ones cheaply made by fast fashion. So many mass produced items looked all the same and were very basic and boring, because the companies didn't want to spend a lot of money in the production. If there is something that the 2010s were the worst about, in terms of fashion, was the rising of fast fashion and poor quality clothing.

I feel like it’s so soon for 2010s fashion to come back, seeing as it was barely 10 years ago. I still see people in my (relatively small) town wearing 2010s clothes. I feel like fashion trends are moving too fast!!

  • @alabamaslammer3921

I think there's a generally big difference between trends in real life clothing and trends on the Internet. The Internet has trends every five minutes which is not attainable for most regular people which makes sense as to why most people in real life seem "behind" or have different trends to what is shown online. So online, yes, trends are going way too fast but in real life, they're kinda going at their regular pace.

  • @internetexplorer6304

    @internetexplorer6304

    10 ай бұрын

The internet can artificially accelerate the trend cycle. Fashion media needs to be just faster than the communication system so that there's always something new and you're never caught up, so you keep buying. The internet is instantaneous so the trend cycle moves at the speed of lightning, a pace most normal people can't/don't care to keep up with. Also the internet makes trend burnout (the natural process of getting sick of something onec you've seen it enough) faster due to over Saturation. So people who are into fashion get bored fast and move on quick

Also, I always had at least 2 ballet flat (and still do, currently I have black, nude and bright blue!) and I'm kinda surprised they actually CAN get out of fashion because they're just timelss... And bow ties can be a nice thing to return too, I'm trying to add them but it's tricky at 30+ years old... I have minimal hair ties with bows that I sometimes tie my hair with, I wonder what other subtle uses can be for them because they're so cute!

My hope is that all jeans continue to be acceptable for the foreseeable future. When I was a teenager in the early 2000s it was all about a low-rise flare, and then when I was in my twenties the skinny jean had a Chokehold collectively 4 over a decade. And that was a mid-rise skinny jean until high-rises became popular around 2016. So I hope, that we don't have another decade-plus of one specific style of pant being the pants, cuz I really like right now where everybody is wearing whatever they want! I'm mostly seeing a lot of high-rise straight-leg pants still, but because I live in a rural area we still see skinny jeans and then a lot of the trendy girls have low-rise flares from the thrift store period I hope I continue to get to pick from a smorgasbord of denim styles for the foreseeable future!

Because to me, all these looks remind me of something a middle-schooler would wear. I didn't dress like that in 2010, so I sure as heck am not going to dress like that now. Some of these looks seem somewhat 1990s to me - Marc Jacobs 1992 & the movies Singles and Reality Bites, but then maybe we’re just on the 3rd go around of these style elements.

A band tee and those "festival" distressed shorts are like my staples in the summer since then XD but to be fair, I am into the rock/metal music scene. it never went outta style for us and was only in style for a min haha i like the shorter shorts because it doesnt make me look as short and the mom jeans can make me look bigger than I am. though i always make sure my asssh aint hanging out :P

omg so many memories. i had a pair of super distressed shorts that were ombre from mint to coral lmao. i also had a pair of lacy shorts and i literally wore them out. (i was still wearing them regularly in 2017 when the lace finally came apart!) i dress so differently now but the prospect of dressing like the cool girls i saw on tumblr really floats my boat

Also I understand the struggle, I have platform holo sandals that I wear like once every 2 years but idgaf im keeping them 😭 I hope holographic comes back in style because it's so gorgeous but I'll admit that I feel kinda silly goofy wearing it rn that's its out of style, I wish I wasn't like this lol

@@rutealmeida3331 I unfortunately bought them from Dolls Kill (this was about a decade ago), the brand is t.u.k. It's so funny because i regularly leave the house dressed full-on like it's the 70s (a stranger once told me my outfit looked like something out of scooby-doo and i took it as a compliment), but the thought of wearing something only a few years out of date is somehow so much worse! What's up with that?

I was a teen/college in the early 2010's, so this has been what i wore during the time i started gaining some fashion sense. The thing i dont like about these styles is that its al so .. cheap looking. Cheap rusty necklaces, thin fabrics for the tshirts and leggings.. it was the peak of fast fashion. Im curious to see if these 2010 trends will be a bought brack a bit more sophisticated/sturdy! 😊

This is exactly how I feel!! What I like about fashion in 2020s is how much it encourages thrifting. Cottagecore? Thrift a grandma sweater, Y2K? Find a cool bag for 5 bucks. Meanwhile I hate hate hateee the mismatched, weak stitching on the galaxy print pants and cheap patterns on everything

  • @emilyrose9518

I was a FIT student during this Era. Look 2 needs opaque tights. Look 1 would have bright purple tights (galaxy was typically just worn with an oversized muscle tank/tee) with wedge sneakers. Look 3 is on point. I legit wore this done to the plate and bow. Look 4 was too maximalist. The original look 4 would be accurate with a maroon or mustard colored chiffon top. With a focus on the top- it needs to be paired with a coloted pencil skirt. A Tight one. With heeled oxfords. It was fun seeing this current interpretation! Honestly I wasn't big on the fashion at the time as it wasn't really bust friendly and much of the clothing was cheaply made (recession core). However I love the Tumblr soft grudge vibe and I'd love to see you style that too! Honestly Tumblr soft grudge to me is so classic. It may have started at a particular time, but it was such an amalgamation of aesthetics, it still Is very relevant. :) loved this video! Would love to see more decade / period oriented takes!

I remember it so well. I started making outfit pictures around that time for a blog that i had. I didn't have too many followers, but i really love that blogging time of 2010. I never stopped loving ballerina shoes. I have been buying them since around the 2000's i guess. They just looked good with many outfits and didn't make me taller. The peplum tops are still cute, but i have seen them so much that i think it's to soon for me that they are coming back. But maybe in a bit different way or styled differently. 2010 was also the ankle boot/motor boot time and i just read this week that they are coming back too. I always love ankle boots and i haven't stopped wearing them. I was also wearing my converse/All Stars a lot in the 2010's. And t-shirts with a longsleeve under it.

Studded shorts were my favorite!! I really miss the pair that I studded myself. I studded upsidedown crosses on the back of some thrifted cut off shorts. 😂 tbh I really want to thrift another pair and stud up some shorts again, but just haven't felt as crafty lately.
