What a gorgeous scene. Snow, dogs and a fire, what more can you ask for.

Having moved to a much more tropical climate I sort of miss the snow, super jealous!

I have to admit i prefer the colder climates rather than the hot ones, more cosy and beautiful

I used to live near Seana Bhraigh, by near, I mean about 15 mikes away, it is an isolated mountain. It’s probably one of the coldest part of Scotland

I love the area but it is wild in winter, when I started the drive home within 5 miles there was not the slightest sign of snow, it was like I had driven through a portal

To be honest it was the perfect escape, snow drifts between three and four feet all round so no one could reach us. We had three bothies to ourselves

I always plan for the worst scenario, carry in extra food, make the portions larger so if we get stuck somewhere then I can split the food to make it last. The down side is pack weight is crazy at the start. But better safe than sorry. Atb Bill
