Ice House Road. Going up to Loon lake back in the late 90's. July afternoon. We came around a corner on the switchbacks going up from I50. A logging truck crammed into the inside bank coming downhill lost his brakes. Trailer flipped over. The dust was just settling. Driver was OK... We stopped to see if he was OK... He was good, just enough room to squeeze by. One minute earlier and we would have been on that same stretch of road...
Just did big bear Wheelin in snow this past weekend in my 80 series Bronco she did great!!!

Sierra Cement... Snow with high water content. That now has been melted and refrozen. It only gets worse when its warmer.

I had a bronco like that old one but way more built, I was constantly stuck in the snow because they are so damn heavy.

Yeah we have Dodge Ram in our team on 37s Diesel he does not bad in the snow, but I know what you mean when in sinks it sinks!

Hey! I was that other white XJ with the rtt you guys passed on the 50 on the way down! Don't know if you remember, but you hooked me up with an oil filter adapter back in 2020. Would love to head out with you one day (if I could keep up!)

the Chief XJ always is the best to make the tracks - awesome ! And: I can hear the infamous knocking noise on the 4.0 engine at around 16.30 - sounds very similar to my engine - piston slap, rod knock, flexplate ?

No clue it’s a new crate motor 1996 gen, my other motor had same noise, my 2000 didn’t

@@4WDAdventureCrew well - it's said the knocking noise belongs to the 4.0 - happens sooner or later - not sure if new pistons & cylinder honing entails an improvement in he long run.
Did that beautiful Bronco so dirty. That hurt my heart.

Yeah not having recovery points Sucks, but owner said he does not care about the bumper because he has new ones ready to install, but it was sad to see it bend out like that

What are you supposed to do in that situation, where they are shooting from the road? Because that is so not cool. And can be intimidating if you were driving by your self. Or if I had my wife and children with me.

It's extremely normal in this area to come across people shooting. As a regular shooter myself, I usually stop and talk with them, and I have never had a negative encounter. There really is nothing to worry about.
