I sang this song to my husband up to the day he died when hospice came after him he took my hand and said don't ever foreget the words to this song that he would always be right beside him even if l couldn't hear his voice or see his face. I still can't forget looking into his eyes knowing it would be the last time its been 10yrs and l feel his presense sometimes lncsn smell his after shave or smell a cigarette, and feel his hand on my shoulder, he's still with me .

Similar story is having a rough time in 2003 I was 22 years old. I went down to Florida just to get away from everything. I was staying in a condo on the beach. It was about 1 o’clock in the morning and I was sitting on the pitch black beach by myself, when a kid woke up to me and asked for a cigarette. I gave him one. He said thank you, and handed me a CD. I went back upstairs and my CD player came back down press play, and this song came on. I put it on repeat and listen to it until the sun came up the next morning. Expanse of the ocean meaning the pitch black sky with the stars is mesmerizing. times seem like it’s stood still and that one night eternity. I’ll never forget that night. And that song was burned into my soul.

I lost my birthday at 18 and my mom and stepdad at 23, 16 days apart. The first year or two is the hardest because of the shock, and living without them. Going back in your memories of all the things you wish you could change. I hope shes at peace and keep the good memories close.

I first heard this song in 2008, the year that my mum nearly died after a horrific and very bad car crash, she was in a coma for 3 months. Every single lyric felt like they were written for me and my sister, and we used to listen to this song together on repeat until we fell asleep. I still listen to it now and it holds a lot of pain and as well as peace. If you’re reading this and want to know what happened, my mum, against all odds, survived and is living a good quality life.

I discovered this song /Snow Patrol only a few years ago while working as a barmaid in a small local pub in Scotland. Many of the regular customers were people who had a rough life, been to prison, ect. Sometimes, it was really difficult working there but among the good memories I have is this song blasting on the jukebox and everyone in the pub singing

I bought this CD while I was in Santa Fe on a trip a long time ago and I blasted this song on repeat the entire way back to Denver. One of the most surreal and excellent road trips in my life.

I cannot listen to this song without crying. It reminds me so much of my grandma who raised me. She was my best friend and I watched her die a couple years ago....it was the most painful experience of my life to watch the life fade out of her eyes while trying to be strong for me...it was horrible. I miss her so much. She was my best friend. 💔 If I cried it didn't matter how old I was, she would make me climb into her lap as she rocked me...like at 25 years old lol. Did not matter.... God I miss her. This song reminds me of the last day we held each other...she was rocking me in her hospital bed when she stopped rocking me.... My heart broke and has been broken ever since. 😥💔

Samantha Conn i am very sorry i read this and it made a tear come to my eyes because i lose my grandma she raised me and was like a mom to me and the night before she waited at the screen door for me after i got home from work i saw her at the screen door standing there i went to head to bed and she said i am proud of you i love you. And the next day she was gone i found her that way.. So i know partly of how you feel its not fair. Im living life half alive part of me died with her.

@@iesha3703 oh man you're relationship sounds so much like mine. I'm so sorry for your loss. You know, whenever something good or bad happens I still automatically think to call her. It's kind of like when you wake up from a dream you have about them, wake up and have to deal with the truth that they're not there anymore. That's the feeling I get when I want to call and realize I can't. That will never happen again for the rest of my life and it is still so painful. She was the kindest person I've ever known. I miss her....I miss her every minute... I'm so so sorry for your loss. They are apart of us forever. That's the love I cling to just like you do ❤ it's nice to at the very least know that ❤ it certainly helps my days.

Samantha Conn, i know how you feel i feel the same pain everyday i wake up anytime i accomplish a goal in life i feel like she is proud and it makes me tear up, the days the hardest for me are my birthdays holidays and her birthday and death anniversary.. Its like a pain inside that never goes away.. I feel im stuck in a nightmare that repeats. But all we can do now is try our best to live on for them and remember all the good times eventually hopefully we can rebuild our own lives and keep going forward. 💓💛💚💙💜💪😊 we will never forget them they taught us right from wrong and raised us with love she was the most important person to me.

We have land both my parents and my aunt in grandma in a separate house on the property and when dad was dying my grandma and aunt were always there since mom was in the hospital with dad. He did receive a heart transplant but we didn't think he was going to so...I wouldn't have made it far. My aunt died not long ago...we thought she was going to be okay...we thought the chemo was working... I loved them so so so much. My heart will forever ache for those 2. The link is the last time we ever spoke. I was trying to get to her and was coming the next day...she never made it...💔😭💔
