Something else you can do but need about a 3/4 inch thick sole; grab a screwgun, grab 2 packs of drywall screws & you can zip in all the screws you need into both the upper toe to the heel. If you do it right, it takes about 12 screws per shoe. WARNING- if you do this & you have hardwood floors, DO NOT WALK ON THE FLOORS WITH THEM where you will ruin your floors. They can be ok for linoleum although you may feel some slight slipperiness & if you are outdoors & some across a concrete styled side walk, be careful ( even the shoe grips will make it feel like a black ice situation) The drywall screws to use would be about 1/4- 1/2 inch & go for about 1.40$ over @ Aubuchon's per pack

Lisa, if you see my comment, try that. If not, as long as you got over a 3/4 inch sole, a screwgun & a way to grab 1/4 to maybe 1/2 inch screws, you can screw in the screws to the bottom of your shoes / boots & it works better & lasts longer. Just don't wear them if you have hardwood floors in your place where you will mess up your floor really fast. You can, to a point, use them if you have linoleum floors, but eventually, you may scratch the floor. Also, for outdoors, if you come across a concrete surface whether icy or not, don't try walking on that with this idea or the grips shown, it's just like walking on black ice & you may fall quicker just because. PS- Get about 2 packs of those drywall screws. If you have a Aubuchon's or Home Depot nearbye, they're really cheap. You end up using about 12 screws total per shoe / boot. A pack has 13.

Ice climbing will probably require full ten point crampons; but one can certainly try my posted previous reply potential idea and thought.
