Growing up in Canada, my brain just cannot comprehend this.. I’d have never guessed in a thousand years that it snowed in Australia, never mind ski resorts..

​@@UstashaMe84 Yes it was a bit of a harsh comment, but besides the point, I would love to go to Canada some day and see some real decent snow there. It's good enough for skiing a few months a year here, but only at the very highest altitudes (Australia is not a very mountainous country to say the least). I'm from Canberra and it's certainly cold enough for snow, but there isn't enough latent moisture in the air, so it seldom ever snows here unfortunately. All the best!

I go Mt Buller every year and it is just the best place to go within your budget and the community up there is just amazingly nice!! and it has lot's of skiing or snowboarding opportunities!

There's a myth that Australia only consists of sunny beaches and the desert outback. However, there is a vast alpine region on the east coast in the states of Victoria and New South Wales! This is another version of the bush in Australia.

Season is near - cant wait to head to Buller again - this will be my 51st season there skiing (started age 5) - if anyone wants to see what the runs look like skied at a reasonable pace my KZread channel has videos covering most runs at Buller - Ill be doing more this year.

I was a late starter started skiing at 28 but squeezed in Bulgaria, Austria, Italy, France, Switzerland, Slovenia, then back to Bulgaria....... then i got fibromyalgia, no more skiing for me. it broke my heart. I loved the feeling of being free gliding down the slopes. I had so many more places i wanted to ski but my health put a spanner in the works!

I started teaching that year with Orange lifts and the season ended in late August, was a tough one, but still had fun!

Its so weird for me to See snow and bush in the Background it feel unappropriate :D

i love this vid because i went skiing at thredbo in winter and mt buller i couldent have done it without the vidoe i didnt do ski learning i lived in the eurpean alps i went skiing there i did the advanced run thxs so much ps i love skiing

Canada is way to hot for me, most don't know but we hit 40C for weeks in summer, but this is the only place I'd go in Australia

+Ondrus21 It snows quite regularly in parts of New South Wales, the ACT and Tasmania during the winter. Don't always think Australia is desert and bare. Google "Australia Snowy Mountains" or "Mount Kosciusko".

SuicideFixated We only have a few small resorts and they are all in one area so most people who go skiing do it for only 3 or 4 days a year. Which is probably why they 'suck' in comparison to the Swiss who can do it all the damn time. PS if you want to see people that REALLY suck check out the Swiss and Austrian tourists trying to surf at Bondi.

SuicideFixated I know I was only being tongue-in-cheek, sorry if that didn't come across. I don't think many people come TO Australia to ski... only from within Australia. Anyone serious will obviously go to Europe, where the snow season is much better. :-)

false advertising, the conditions shown here have been filmed in conditions that at the most would feature on maybe 10-20 days in an entire season. The base elevation is on par with thredbo , except Buller tops out at below 1800 meters and Thredbo goes up to 2100 meters. The Main Range in NSW and the Bogong High Plains in VIC . do not have fake snow in Winter & early spring. Two people died in an avalanche on Mt . Bogong in 2014. Their bodies were later found under six metres of snow.It was not fake slurpy machine snow.You have no idea!.
