Snoop was out of line in a big way. He not only didn’t include EM in his top ten. That was not the problem. The problem was that he went on the Breakfast club and was not asked about Eminem, but voluntarily brought Em’s name up to inform everyone that even though the majority of the rap game feels like Eminem is top 5 top 10, he doesn’t agree with that. And then when asked why he felt that way, he passionately expressed that there are rappers in the 80’s and 90’s that Eminem can’t touch. That was the problem. If Em went on an interview and voluntarily said that Snoop Dogg was not in his top 10 or top five rappers, without anyone asking him that question, he would be called a disrespectful hater. And Snoop would have taken offense. It’s OK for Snoop to have whatever opinions he wants to have. But if you feel so passionately about Eminem not being in your top tier of lyricists that you have to voluntarily bring that up, that sounds like hate to me. Especially when he said he can’t live without this hip hop thing. But he can live without Eminem’s music. That was just unnecessary.

I think the root of the issue is Snoop trying to push for racial equality and fair treatment of black people but at the same time is saying Em can't be the goat because he's white. Also trying to say Em is only successful because Dre got him there, mean while Snoop relied on Dre to get his career going as well. Dre has even mentioned that Eminem likely saved his career. He's unecessarily discredited Em multiple times, and even said in an interview once that he's the "greatest 'white' rapper of all time". For him to put emphasis on his race shows that he doesn't respect Em enough, and that Snoop was already on some bs even before his talk about top 10. *Crypt* No it’s not that he wasn’t in Snoop top 10 it was that Snoop was throwing shade at Eminem for no reason. Because in that breakfast club interview (which most of the time they talk badly about Em) all they asked Snoop is who is on your top 10 list and Snoop started talking about Eminem and basically dissed his whole life basically in the rap game by saying he could live without his entire career of music when nobody brought up Eminem at all. So that’s why Eminem dissed Snoop on this album because he thought they was friends because Eminem has never said anything bad about him so it came out of nowhere.

Yes, it is true Em likely wouldn't have arrived how he did and in way he did had it not been for Dre...and maybe Em wouldn't have gotten the break he needed for years to come, maybe his life would have turned out different, or maybe his work ethic and crazy mind would have led him to rap success regardless of who is mentor is. Who knows. But to act like Em's contributions to the rap game are meaningless is so dumb. Especially given he constanty is shouting out OG's and various other artists, trying to help the black community and issues using the giant megaphone he owns, etc..

I just want to say how thankful I am that there's a place I can come to that catches all of Ems bars for me to watch & read through comments. I mean I could probably listen to a Em song casually like 20 times & still find things that went over my head. He never ceases to amaze me. I think Snoop Calling Em the “great white hope” was far more hurtful, then not having em in his top 10. Hip hop was alive long before Em came up, and Snoop was there already... having his own roll models and idols. So it’s obvious Snoop will name 10 names before Em even makes it in the conversation. But calling him the great white hope was disrespectful,period! He didn’t have to do that. I guess Snoop was probably one of the people, saying NOT to take the risk on a blue eyed white boy to Dre, back in the day. I've never really cared about the whole "lists" of everyone's favorite rappers stuff so obviously when snoop didn't include Em it was no big deal, but to continue on to say that Em's entire catalogue did nothing in rap and the only reason he popped off is because of Dre and he's white.
