I used to own Guerilla War on my NES. That game was a favorite for my brother and me growing up.

Giving you the arcade and console version of some of those games made this a very appealing collection.

This compilation is fantastic and would love to see more of these types. From the front end, to the museum, to the emulation functions... all are great! Thanks for the video!

I just bought this for the Switch for $32.00 at Best Buy, and I'm SO glad I did. I haven't played it yet, but I didn't even know much about it until I watched this. I love the amount of games. I didn't even realize SNK made games other than fighting games. And I own many of these on NES.

RGT85, you just brought back a wave of memories with those screen shots of Ikari II. My brother and I had such a hard time with those little green guys, the jumping black/yellow spider things ,and the floating face. We tended to only spend a token or two on the game before moving on to something else in Aladdin's Castle, but yeah, totally forgot about this stage in the game until you just showed it. Thanks for triggering those happy memories of yore!

This compilation was from the era before snk was associated with neo geo that's why there is no neo geo fighting games on it

Guerilla war is nostalgic to me, and I got through it really fast and was one of the only games I beat on the nes

Dude... Prehistoric Isle brings back some memories. That arcade machine fascinated me as a kid. I'm definitely getting this.

I loved Street Smart as a kid. It was the reason I was good at Street Fighter II upon its release.

Ikari Warriors - Played a ton at Playcade on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, 1980's. Love it.

I remember playing Prehistoric Isle on the arcade in the 90's great game! RGT 85, find the button that allows you to rotate the module and you'll see you can fire different ammo in different directions.

I'm definitely really excited to pick up the SNK 40th collection on Switch! A few of the NES games I remember playing back in the day so having those alongside the arcade versions would be pretty cool (at least until I get the respective cart versions I do still collect for that!) Also one thing that wasn't mentioned that one of the developers included was for the rotary stick games (Ikari Warriors, Guerilla War) what he did was turn those games into a twin-stick shooter setup one to move and the other aims in all eight directions! obviously not a direct re-creation of the controls, but certainly beats the MAME method of pressing a button to change angles one click at a time! Some of the upcoming free DLC is gonna be great too I'm kinda hyped for Time Soldiers!

I played the arcade version of Ikari warriors a couple of weeks ago one night whilst drinking some scotch. It’s fookin solid. I died almost straight away.

Ikari warriors in arcade had a very unique joystick that you would rotate to turn character in 8 directions to shoot.

Pre ordered the collecror's addition. Looking forward to it! Nice review.

Great review video RGT 85. The SNK Collection is really cool but I might wait for a price drop tho before picking it up.

Street smart was dope. I rocked that game back in the days.

I currently have this on my eShop wish list and was going to wait for a sale, but I may reconsider waiting and get this day 1.

'85 was a great year - I was born in '72!

I’ve been waiting so long for this to come out. Played the crap out of most of these in the arcade. Really bummed that not all the games are on the card however. I did order the special edition from NIS. There is a nice book and cd with it.

Street Smart was supposed to be THE GAME when it came out. It just didn't age well since SFII reinvented everything. But when it came out, people talked about that game like ALL the time

Some people do pronounce it with a long i sound, (NEES America), since the i stands for Ichi. Never heard his short i pronunciation anywhere else though

Ikari Warriors, P.O.W. and Prehistoric Isle... fed tons of coins to those. Shame the other games in the collection doesn't seem too exciting. Sky Soldiers, Gang Wars, Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, World Heroes etc... yeah not all of them were SNK, but SNK has the rights to them now I think. Just adding 1 or 2 of them would have given the collection so much more value.

This is a well thought collection that gives us a chance to learn about the games and the history of SNK. I either played a few of them on the old NES like Ikari Warriors or their sequel on SNK NeoGeo like Alpha Mission 2, Prehistoric Isle 2 and like most of the guys here, I'm not familiar with all of the older SNK games in this collection. We love retro games because they're easy and simple to pick up for a quick play and those games looks like they're just that! However, it's kind expensive for the price and it's only 14 games with 11 more free to download later. If they're newer NeoGeo games like Metal Slug, King of Fighters,.... I wouldn't mind paying $39.99 (the upcoming Sega Genesis Classic has 50 games and it's only $29.99!) There are many good games coming out just in time for the holidays, so I'll hold off on this until the price drops to $29.99 or less

Athena is a playable fighter in a game called NEO GEO BATTLE COLOSSEUM on Atomiswave and ps2

I'm certainly gonna pick this up. Even though i have most of these games on the SNK Classics Vol. 0 for the PSP. It gonna be nice playing them on a bigger screen, also cause my PSP is dead and I haven't been able to fix it or replace it yet.

I am wondering how you manage your sd card being that you get so many digital review games? I know there are cloud saves now but so many switch games need additional download space.

I wish all the games were on physical not download later. I had the CE on pre order but I ended up passing. I might get this used down the road but eh.

Same but I still held my Amazon preorder for $31 and sticking with that because having the few games i really wanted on the cart is what mattered to me the most. Its a shame the Switch version of Heroines was kinda bad as well because I really wanted that LE.

I love SNK games. The NeoGeo AES was so expensive it hurt to see how great the games looked in the magazines. My only sadness is I wish SNK would have sold a tabletop rotary joystick to go with the games. It's like playing Street fighter with the old three button Genesis controller.

Hope they include SAR search and rescue in a future patch

The only reason I bought this compilation just for the game Prehistoric Isle in 1930 I I think that game was way ahead of his time really good i grew up playing that game honestly I don't care for the rest of the games

Been playing this lately myself and definitely ran into issues with the rewind. Hopefully the patch fixes it as intended. Could hurt the game quite a bit if it's not ready by release. That aside, the museum alone made this a pretty fun experience. And of course the Psycho Soldier Theme song!

Do you prefer to the Arcade version or Console version? My thinking is the Arcade version will look nicer, but have more "unfair deaths" due to the need suck you dry of your quarters.
