+The DrAgOn FiNdEr are you playing on hardcore or normal? Players on normal on PS4 are fucking shit and easy to beat but when you play on hardcore like me.. man; this guy aimed down sights for about 4 seconds, fired and headshotted from 800 metres. Don't think it's luck because he did it a few times. People on hardcore ARE hardcore.

Every time I see someone using a sniper in close quarters matches I use the jeep stuff on them

Hardest gun to unlock? No, the hardest for me is the UMP-9, 50 repair ribbons sucks when your usually Recon and Support.

Galvantula1 Actually, I find many people that let me repair their vehicle, my problem is not having someone that's a good driver/pilot, resulting in the vehicle being destroyed before I get the chance to repair.

Uh, this gun is NOT worth the effort. At all. The SRR-61 also has a 6/ms drop with only 10 less velocity, 50 less range 14 less RPM - BUT it has that nice minimum 59 damage which means it'll OSK on a headshot at any range. So yeah, while this gun is slightly more accurate it's not worth it over the SRR.

I can see someone who plays more aggressively liking the FY-JS more. Most aggressive fights won't be over 100m away. FY-JS min dmg is 36.6 at 110m. With a multiplier of 2.35, you need a minimum of 42.55 damage (100/2.35) to kill someone with one headshot. You can still kill someone at anything 100 or less meters away.

jamvng Honestly again you're better off with the 338 Recon probably if you want to go "aggro sniping" (that is, RDS/Holo + Suppressor & Straight Pull Bolt) as you really don't want to be using a low damage rifle close up - you need to be able to get that 1-hit chest shot. The recon also has the best accuracy while moving of all the snipers by a wide margin (good hip fire too surprisingly) so yeah I would take that instead (otherwise why not just use a DMR?)

i wish this game would get some extreme longrange maps where snipers actually have a point and are fun to use. if anyone remembers BC2's Heavy Metal map, that one allowed you to sniper people 1000-2000meters away when you were sitting on the hill tops. fun times!

Can't people see this, or am I the only one with this opinion? The reason BFBC2 was good, wasn't because of the small weapon customization.. It was because the maps weren't New York or any of the big cities.. It was out in the wild... in the jungle, in the russian's militybase out in the nowhere! It was outside.. it wasn't in a tightpacked city.

I get sick of playing any game mode like rush or obliteration where the are so many useless snipers not PTFO and i end up with 5-10 or so kills and maybe 20-30 or more deaths because I'm trying to take on 3 or more squads at once with no support from snipers looking right at these enemies.

This is what I hate about what dice has decided to do with sniper rifles bolt action only for "balancing" give me a break! The hardest way to play is recon in this game! WTF should we NOT be rewarded?! Every other gun has a time to kill way faster cuz this u get 1shot per reload extremely difficult to pull off especially at long range! Especially when things don't render and suppression starts it's ridiculously hard. What made badco2 the best online sniper game I've ever played was bolt action acted more like it WOULD in reality! They should treat these guns only bolt action like it's in reality. For one the only way to spot a guy beyond what 300ms is using a high power optic due to the game not rendering that distance without it. Plus there's literally almost no real good positions for long range fun realistic engagements it's like an after thought that's gotten worse over time not better. If I am forced to reload after every single shot then I should be rewarded with a kill if it landed within the kill zone center mass and especially the head. It is useless to get a hitmark on a guy at range he's just going to move away it happens even if u miss! They know it and will move. It's incredibly frustrating beyond challenging fun it's an extreme challenge with very small reward. They need to make it like a sniper simulation! Not gameplay balanced cuz all that's managed to do is nerf it. Why a bullet has drop off damage at range boggles my mind as that's the fastest it's traveling it does NOT loose speed no matter the range not to mention the exit wound being the size of a human head. And why are most bolt actions firing 762&556 rounds with only a few capable in game of having a .338 .50 or magnum?! Most of these guns in real life fire 30-06 .308 .45-.50cal not an AR 556 or 762 by only a slight bit of extra grain, but the damn scar-h fires the same round as the m40a which is what looks like a Remington .308 as does scout elite but the rfb looking gun gets .338?! WHY DICE WHY?! recon can't be over powered if they're bolt action I can see the semi auto being weaker but honestly the game will not be broken or unbalanced if sniper rifles were made like a simulation! Why, due to the bolt action reload time the ads time then trying to aquire a target often on the move and if ur not in close enough To be in danger or in a fire fight then the range is the enemy it's not like every shot is landing a hit at least 50% or more are misses, that's being extremely forgiving really it's closer to 60-75% will miss or hit non lethal which equals a fail. I can go entire games getting maybe 1 kill or zero several in a row if I try to play realistically and it's all due to missing, suppression, or getting a hitmark that doesn't kill at 150-300 meters! It's broken and has needed to be fixed since badco1! Please at least try it dice if it somehow manages to break the game then Fix it but why start out doing what all of us bolt action players have been begging for for years now?! This is why my k/d is a 0.50 cuz I can't play the game how I want and how it should work if I were to take these guns to a long range field set up targets and hit them. Also why don't we have a 50-150 meter zero in range like in single player mode? Since that's where 90% of the action takes place I never have to use the zero in feature since it's at almost impossible 200m range on 360 things don't even render that far, beyond 300m is all map till optics are used and the laser designator has what 50m till blackout can we have some filters please? Like thermal that can see farther than 100m it seems to be less than that. And Maps being all in dense cities and nearly no wide open in the wild fun mix of both like badco2 had is Exactly I can't stand trying to dogfight in jets or snipe since the maps are not made for it only maybe 1-2 are possible but not on xbox360 we get better jets but no where to dogfight it's as if they slapped jet lovers in the face I knew it to soon as they released that trailer of the carrier being attacked and the jets fall into the water that jets were an after burner nothing would be designed around them. Maybe 360 is only 1/2 the game or something cuz why is CQ the only mode with "massive" maps almost all of which are smaller than badco2 rush is medium and everything else is COD like close quarters yeah we get it BF can do CQB but we don't play BF for only CQB or 80% of the game! We loved it cuz it was huge. And don't even get me started on hardcore mode is now broken and butchered it tries to make the game more "real" but ends up making itself redundant since 1/2 the equipment doesn't work or is useless thanks to no map. Call outs enemy to the west ok well where's west I'm not always facing north!

Dear LevelCap, I found a attachment combo from which I doubt you ever heard before. Maybe it is not meant for competitive gamers, but it cetainly is something incredibly fun, especially on hardcore mode: 1) pick you favorite sniper rifle (I used the M98B for this, awesome bullet velocity) 2) put an IRNV scope on it 3) put a variable zoom on it (yes, this works!) 4) further customization of your choice! If you use the regular IRNV (1x) scope, you can scan the area for targets. If you use the variable zoom (14x), you'll lose the IRNV-effect, but you'll zoom in to pick off the identified target. Also, you'll still see through the IRNV scope, which looks awesome in 14x zoom! I think it would be awesome if you would make a video out of this. Honestly, I stumbled across this combo, I've never seen anyone use this other than me. P.S.: Probably also works with the FLIR scope, haven't tried it yet! Kind regards, x666xGamer

The shot itself may not be that hard, but also consider that not a lot of maps provide you with the opportunity to make those shots in the first place. This means that opportunities for those shots will be scarce. Also, if you miss, your target will be alarmed and move. You rarely get a second chance, so your aim must be dead on to make the shot.

***** what do you mean? i had this gun when i unlocked the recon-338 while playing aggressive head hunting and with a controller not a mouse before the patch came out and let me tell you that sniping is not about statistics it is about how the gun feels and gets used,i used the M40A5 most of my time and had some really good shots but now i use the SRR-61 and it is not the best sniper rifle statistically but i was killing many people that had the SCOUT ELITE and i had a 44-18 k/d so it is about how you like/use a gun,not the stats of it

Man I don't know how console players do it. I know they have aim assistance but that's not the same as aimbottish lock on like people assume it is to be able to pinpoint a person's noggin from across the map and get 50 of those Marksman Ribbons. I try to play on both console and PC but I simply can't fathom how they are able to play the sniper roles in games like this so well. Control sticks are not great for precision. I applaud the effort they have to learn and do so as well as they do rather than bitch about it.

Using the Aim-assist feature is actually more detrimental to your accuracy than not using it. I personally can't stand using Aim-assist to be honest, it bugs me that the computer will try to adjust for tracking and target lock, it really screws with my accuracy so I've never used it. Then again, I've never used Aim-assist in any game be it PC or Console. And yes, going from two separate hand controls (i.e mouse & keyboard) to a thumb controlled movement/aim controls is drastically different, and will take some time to get used to but not as long as you may think it would. I think it took me a week of playing BF4 for a couple hours at a time before I had become highly adept at my gameplay and accuracy. Yes it felt weird the first few games/rounds but didn't take long for me to adapt my playing style to a console.

Yo guys, if you need help to unlock this, I just did a few days ago. I'm not a good sniper, I was never that good at sniping and I thought this challenge was gonna kill me. So, if a shitty sniper can get it, there's hope for you. Go on Conquest Small, go to Rogue Transmission, arm your favourite sniper rifle, good for long ranges. Mine was the SRR. Equip the variable zoom, the PLD and Spawn Beacon. Go onto that big tower that you can climb on up right in the beginning. Place the spawn beacon in the middle on the first floor/area after you climb up the first ladder. Go to the corner of that platform and crouch. You should be facing "C". A lot of snipers like to get comfortable in the hills surrounding it and a lot of action at "C". Just take out your PLD, try not to spot if you see a prone camper so that your teamates wont kill them, and bingo, take your time, but don't be too slow either. This was one of the easier challenges I've accomplished. The one that's killing me the most is the stupid 50 Melee Ribbons. Fuck off with that haha. Anyways, hope this helped!! That's how I got a lot of my kills. You can always go up the different levels of that tower so it's easier to get marksman ribbons, as each level is a lot higher.

This is one of a rifles I was REALLY looking forward to unlock... Took me like... forever?! :D Anyway - I loved L96 in BF3 and used it a lot in BF4, then switched to a better one - SRR-61 and did not thought any rifle can outperform it. So after I have started using SRR-61 - I became really skeptical about what FY-JS will be like (haven't seen stats, or game plays before), but when I first tried it in Metro - I was like: WOW... I it was rifle and very accurate. After switching from SRR-61 - I was getting a feeling - some of my shots - that would normally won't hit with SRR-61 were killing enemies like flies... Love this rifle... Love how it feels, shoots, speed of consecutive shots... everything... Well worth unlocking it!

The FY-JS is really hard to unlock on PS3. I got a 974m headshot on Lancang Dam. 5 minutes later I get a 1,189m headshot. 23 out of 50 marksman ribbons

I just got this today and had a kobra sight from a battlepack already, and I think that this is one of my favorite sniper rifle. I for some weird reason get crazy headshots with this in CQB but not other sniper rifles

Just unlocked it a few days ago and still progressing through. I generally stick to the SRR-61when I'm in need of some serious sniping, but the FYI sniper lol is my casual sniper rifle when I'm enjoying the game.

I didn't know you could add up the distances on head shots..... but I also didn't have any trouble landing long range shots :) my channel is mostly sniping.

dude my aim is horrible in BF so watching you get so many easy headshots like that is blowing my mind. for me, its hard to aim in BF but you're just making it look easy. nice video!

I got my Marksman ribbons through conquest with the SRR-61, range finder, and 40x/20x scopes, hung out in the outskirts so when I got a kill about 500 meters distance I got two marksman ribbons.

It's shooting a lighter bullet. That's why it dips less and it doesn't hit as hard at range.

An objects mass doesn't matter on the gravitational pull that earth has on it. The velocity that an object falls only depends on the resistance that air has on it.

Still easier to unlock than the M-TAR assignment in BF3.

Some amazing headshots man very skill

I love my FY-JS! I found the quickest way to get Marksman Ribbons was by playing Silk Road. I have a 1,045m headshot on there and a few 900m+. You can still be useful and countersnipe to get the 250-500m headshots on the southern side of that map. I used an L96A1 with the Range Finder attachment so I could hit the first bullet. I think it's worth the grind personally...

You can get 200kills with any sniper rifle, not with one specific...fail

***** You can get the kills with any sniper rifle. I checked on battlelog. I have 148 sniper rifle kills toward unlocking the fy-js but I don't have that many kills for any one sniper rifle. It's a combination of a few. Hopefully this might clear things up.

FY-JS is actually a wrong name for this gun that stands for "FeiYangJunShi". It's the name of a Chinese military fans forum. Probably the production team found a picture at this forum and misunderstood the forum logo at right bottom as the name of this gun LOL

I finally unlocked this gun. Thanks for the tips, Level.

Rush on Paracel Storm and Golmud Railway is how I unlocked this gun. I was getting 6 and 7 marksman ribbons per game with the SSR-61.

The accuracy of the FY-JS is practically pointless, for a simple reason: The range where that bullet drop starts playing a role, is past 200m ranges. At that range the FY-JS can no longer 1 shot kill. Meaning the accuracy is all but useless for the ranges the FY-JS is effective at. If you want an aggressive sniper rifle you might as well pick up a Scout Elite for max fire rate (small as that advantage is); or even better go with an M40. You keep the 1 shot kill factor, still have very high RoF and the bullet drop and lower muzzle velocity don't matter for ranges you're gonna use it at.

You're wrong LevelCap. It's no more accurate than the SRR-61, has the same bullet-drop, and essentially the same velocity. But it has so much less damage, that you must only ever hit headshots, or try to land a second shot. But if you hit the body with the SRR-61 it only takes 1 pistol bullet to finish the enemy at all ranges - as opposed to 3 or 4 bullets if you were using the FYJS.

Level, I got about 15-20 marksman ribbons in one round with the SRR-61. I kept going 1v1 with another player and the distance was about 300m so every time I got a kill, I got a marksman ribbon.

I find TDM quick and easy way to grab marksman ribbons with the sniper. Sticking to maps like floodzone and dawnbreaker which suit the snipers range advantage.

SRR-61 has the same drop rate 6m/s^2 620m/s muzzle speed SRR-61 still is the best LONG RANGE sniper

God i finally unlocked this sniper after playing many rounds of paracel storm rush sitting at the back of the carrier and sitting on buildings in floodzone , this gun feels like it also has nearly no sway at all i was hitting guys from pretty far away without the need to even hold my breath

To get this rifle I found that the 40x scope really helped an to help with getting straight on to your target use the pld then press triangle on your pad if on console an the centre of the scope will be on your target...my longest head shot is 924m using the srr

I think you're dead on. I feel like they wanted a close and quick bolt gun, but they didn't want it to be "too good" so they neutered it at range.

I would suggest using this on the more compact maps, and you can also use it as a long range sniper for hardcore. due to the damage decrease though if you hit them in the chest from more than 100m it won't do much so yes it does require headshots buts with the guns accuracy it isn't that hard.

I don't see how it is possible to grind marksman ribbons. You get them basically from headshots and you need headshots to kill with a bolt action effectively... SO how does "grinding" differ from "naturally" getting the ribbons. Maybe by grinding Level means playing nothing but recon with bolt actions, but that is really really stretching the definition of grinding. If playing the game is considered grinding, the game is either really bad or you have a sick mentality towards that game.

I love this sniper .. just got it and doing quite well with it running around on tdm .. definitely a headshot machine

The way I've been trying to drill out Marksman ribbons is by using the M98B (40x, Variable Zoom, Bipod) to shoot from about 600 meters away (my longest shot being 655 meters). Not too hard if you can find some campers that are standing still.

use svd : laser sight - red dot - silencer secondery : 44 mag with + ghost ring + flash light for grenades use smoke grenade gadgets : spawn beacon - c4 ..............suprize you enemys from behind please like

This gun has hit detection problems for me. So many times, a guy is standing still, I shoot a headshot, and the guy flinches and there is blood behind the wall, but no hitmarker.

That is most notorious bug in bf4, that is NETCODE!!!

Unlocked it a few days ago finally, so fun to use.

Actually, on the bullet drop acceleration, bullets do generate their own lift due to the Coandă effect (not 4m/s^2, but still enough that 1g does not accurately model their flight).

2:59. 6m/s² is ACCELERATION of this sniper, not gravity. Acceleration meaning that, for example, sniper shooting bullet at 3070,8km/h speed, 3070,8km/h=853m/s. So it means after one second, speed will be 859m/s, and after another second, bullet's speed will be 865m/s until it will reach a point and will fall. Take a note that I'm not an expert, so I can be wrong about the speed of the bullet etc. I was just saying that that's actually acceleration, not gravity.

It's acceleration due to gravity. So that means everything accelerates at 9.8 m/s towards the centre of the earth. However dice has altered physics for some guns so that they actually don't accelerate toward the ground as much therefore it falls at 6.8 m/s which is actually impossible. So what your saying is right but the only thing is that gravity actually accelerates

No, it's gravity. You're thinking bullet velocity. Most guns fall at a rate of 9.81m/s2, so the FYJS falls slower at 6m/s2. The grenade launcher falls at 15m/s2; that's why you see such differences in the trajectories.

Tony Ling Levelcap already explained it - it's the gravitational pull (freefall acceleration, actually). What the guy above wrote is completely false - the bullet doesn't accelerate after leaving the gun, it decelerates.

Since you are Agressive and right in their face you wont even notice it. Even on 50m shots. It has incredibly fast bolt in speed so its great for multiple engagements :)

I don't know if anyone has noticed but the marksman ribbon requirements, although it says 250m it is actually 150m idk if it is a bug or intended but I just thought I'd put it out there.

About 45 of the 50 ribbons I had to get were all 700 meter plus headshots on Silk Road, I'd sit in the back of the map and pick people off. One time I got like 26 ribbons in one game it was amazing

1 marksman ribbon away from unlocking this gun. I found the 338-recon, hunter scope and a bipod works pretty well at getting those long head shots.

Rush on Paracel Storm, while attacking and on first set of MCOMs, I always just laid down on the spawn point ship's deck and got most of my marksman ribbons that way. 400-500 meter headshots are boss.

I finished this assignment in no time at all. Was it worth it? No. I had the SRR-61 by the time I got it. The L96A1, M98B, and M200 are worth the time.

The FY-JS is quite a lot of "Sniper-Work" todo. So if it's so hard to achieve it, we should get an awesome Sniper-Rifle too for this hard work. I really like the rifle itself (colour and looking), but the damage level is really low. So I stay on my good old friend, the M98B ;)

If using the srr-61 with x8 scope, the first notch down is 500m so once you get used to it on xbox one or consoles in general, its easy to get headshots at any range.

i unlocked this one at 40,000 sniper rifle points (the SRR-61 takes 42,000) and i didn't even know how to unlock it, just one day popin heads and tadaaaa FY-JS unlocked o.O i'm not saying that i'm the best sniper but i think that i unlocked it pretty fast considering that the half of my marksman ribons were made with the LS-CR4 (the very first sniper) :)

I play on ps3 but I always love sniping so I did the grind for this gun, took me forever to get those 50 marksman ribbons. I unlocked it and have not touched it at all, I just figured it was a reskin of the beginning sniper with a tiny stat difference.

That chat seems like my experience last time I played on my 360 (the xbox one didnt have shit like that at the time)

GriffinRSX I snipe well in BF and when I switched to MW2 I couldn't hit shit. My soldier has lung cancer and can apparently hold his breath for 2 seconds and can't hold a gun straight for a second. Also I keep leading my shots, forgetting that bullets insta-travel in CoD...

Brokkolesz I can't stand people like you, i don't like CoD that much myself, but Battlefield sniping is a joke. Real sniper rifle rounds fire at 2,500 - 3,000 feet per second. In Battlefield at 20 meters you have to compensate for bullet speed.

Another thing is look for camping snipers in operation firestorm, they will most likely be either on the tower or mountain.

I really like the M40A5, JNG-90, SV98, L96A1, and SRR-61. I just unlocked this today and it looked pretty good up until when you said it is not a 1 shot to the head at long range. That really sucks man...I'm going to give it a go anyway. I just enjoy sniping so much this game, I feel DICE improved it so much!

I never realized that you could do this. I would be having sniper battles with people across the map because I thought that is what you had to do. After quite a while I now have 47/50 marksman ribbons. I hope all the work is worth it.

I would downgrade the CPU and spend the money you save on the GPU. The 4700k is great but only if you can afford to match it with an equally top-of-the-line graphics card.

There is a golden rule in PC building: If you spend an amount on a CPU you should spend about 3 times that much on the GPU. Althoug i would go for 1/2 CPU/GPU if i see the amout of $ you are willing to spend

The 50 marksman ribbons seemed hard at first, until I remembered that playing rush makes it super easy to get long-ish range headshots since everyone is coming from the same general area.

I've been trying to unlock the FY-JS for 30 hours but still have no success.

it a piece of piss mate get what ever long range sniper you have ( with a 14X scope and a bidpod preferably) and get on the map langcan dam ( i cant spell it) sit in you spawn overlooking the bravo flag and dope your scope for 200m for the flag and 400m for the opposing teams spawn, if you have a good eye and a descent aim you'll get roughly 7-10 200m or more headshots per game MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS FOR THE CONQUEST GAME TYPE good luck if you have any question and have BF4 on the ps3 send a message to Hunter_Scars and ill help you out

Try 1198m. On Golmud enemy sniper was shooting from his own base and I was on the mountain. Distance does not even allow tagging anymore so had to shoot on the flashing from his scope. took 6 rounds till I had him. Btw I used the JNG-90

I don't think it's the most accurate sniper; the srr-61 has the same accuracy but full range and full damage. the only downside is only 7 bullets in a magazine, but the reload is pretty short

Technically this does get the most accurate title because it has a higher muzzle velocity. Mind you its only 10m/s faster so you probably won't notice it and combined with the pitiful min damage and it becomes clear that the SRR-61 is a better rifle overall.

Once I got to the marksman ribbons I went on conquest flood zone and stayed on water tower. Took me about 5-6 games to do the marksman ribbons.

when i tried it out it felt like i was shooting marsh mellows 3 hits in the chest area 1 more than the ssr-61, so be careful and fast when using this gun cause it gives others enough time to find you if you hit or miss.

To be honest, OHK weapons aren't a very good mechanic, so I'm not upset that this doesn't kill in one shot.

I was having a lot of struggle to snipe in this game, but yesterday I tried the m98b, so many streaks, so many headshots, so WOW!!!!!

I unlocked it on paracel storm rush. SRR 61 range finder and 20x scope so much fun.

People say scout elite is hard to use...ITS SO FECKEN EASY!
