Sako - gotta love them. Mine is a TRG M10 with 308 Win and 338 LM barrels. Best group for the 308, hand loaded with VV N150 powder, Lapua scenar 12g bullet, Federal 215 LR primer, fine tuned for both charge and cartridge length base-to-ogive, produced a 5 shot group 0.2 MOA @ 150m. Good enough for me.

I too have a green one. TRG22. From early 2000’s. Completely built around the 168gr BTHP. Even the Burris XTR scope. With Black Hills or a quality ammo it will make one ragged hole all day. 26” barrel with Gemtech titanium Sandstorm can threaded by them for the metric thread. Great setup.

Worth it, I have a TRG 21 from 1997 on it third barrel and the fourth will stay 308. For 6.5 I have the Tikka T3XA1, 20” barrel and getting a 26” Lothar Walther thicker barrel put on. TRG 42 in 300WM. Nice been retired in Germany! Quit doing all the International Sniper matches, now at 79 belly shooting (F Class), keep the powder dry!

Nice piece of kit. A gunmaker who puts the tool storage in a useful place on a military rifle, instead of making you struggle with butt storage or turn the rifle upside down to access a pistol grip cavity-which weakens the pistol grip! Has to be a first. That Bullet Seeker chronograph seems like a good idea. Thanks for showing us your toy🙂!

@@camonly849 You "kinda feel" like AI is overrated? You're wrong. I HATE the company Accuracy International. I also hate KAC for similar reasons that I won't bore you with. And while KAC is absolutely overrated, AIs are not. I wish they were because I don't like giving money to companies that I don't like, but even after my frustration with AI (that involved my AXSA, I bought an AXSR and an AX50 ELR). I have two TRGs (non A1s) and they are amazing guns, too, but nowhere near as rugged. The AI will still be functional 500 years from now (assuming the plastic skins can be replaced and in 500 years you should be able to "microwave" some), and the TRGs will not. The TAC A1 is potentially the best bang for your buck gun you can get, but it's nowhere near this TRG A1. The average shooter may. never appreciate the differences, but people who put thousands of rounds downrange each year will be willing to pay more for the A1. The reason I said the TRG is nicer is because it's lighter, has a better trigger (this is preference), and has a better aesthetic (note that AIs are NOT Keymod, though). They will both shoot 1/4 minute with handholds (actually, we shot a new TRG A1 in just over a tenth (5 shot group) with the new TRG factory ammo). So, in short, AI the company sucks, but they make an amazing firearm.

Ya the only reason he recommended tikka is because tikka makes lighter rifles more suited for walking longer distances etc. Once you out a can, bipod, scope etc it starts to get heavy. Either way it's not a wrong buy. You can hunt and do competition with it if you decide then.

I am looking to purchasing this rifle within the next two months but in .308 as 6.5 Creedmore is very expensive to shoot per round. But I am at a mild impasse. If the max range of this is 1100 yrds, and the Ruger Precision can get me out to the same distance at a lower cost, why not go with Ruger? Please, anyone with great and scientific answers, I'd love to hear from you in the comments as I am a novice in this regard, but want the best for life.

6.5 creedmoor will be ballistically accurate for at least 1600meters (1750yrs). Ruger won’t come close to the master precision and Quality Sako is offering. Ruger is like Ford, SAKO is Rolla Royce.

The ruuger is a great rifle, and you cannot go wrong with it. The TRG and Tikka Tac A1 will feel more quality in hand. The bolt in both is some of the smoothest you will ever find, even compared to AI etc. I have the Tikka UPR and with berger 140s factory load I held a .25 inch group first try. These guns are insanely accurate and insanely good. If you want a great rifle get a Tikka or Sako. My next will be a sako, since I do not have one. Good luck brother!

@@meuls82if you’re a novice I’d strongly recommend buying the ruger instead, get used to that and really figure out what you like, also if you’re going to shoot matches you’ll find that the sako really isn’t the best option it’s more geared towards a service aspect, which frank is much more in tune with. Save your money, learn on the ruger, then build a full custom rifle exactly like you want for the exact same money with more parts and preference options.

@SHLowlight I realize you hate the more accurate forms of shooting but your putting your head in the sand on technology advances isn't doing you or your forum any good. It's okay for your your inexperienced shooters to trash someone who competes and runs matches but it's not okay when they get called on there BS? Your double standard isn't promoting the shooting sports and its why all the best shooters refuse to post on your forum. The guy who went crying to you has only shot for 4 years now and owns one gun. I have given shooters a half dozen guns to promote shooting. Funny how you only see one side so I guess they are paid advertisers?

@SHLowlight since you own the forum look in my private messages and you will see me discussing structured barrels with Jon because I understand what he is after. I hold a BSME from Berkeley and a MSME from Ben-Gurion. If you check your statistics I was the 3rd most popular poster on your website. A structured barrel a tensioned barrel a tuner barrel all do the same thing they move the node which is 2.5 - 3 inches back from the muzzle closer to the crown. Picture a teeter totter and your moving the pivot point closer to one end. The seat end is still moving with the same amount of travel on one end but the other seat is moving far less thus producing less vertical. Whenever this is being explained Rio Precision Gunwerks chimes in with how he is a big manufacturer and Lynn knows nothing. The reality is his name is Dan Garcia and he does gun transfers in a storage shed after work from 5;30 pm to 8:00 by appointment only orders than 15 hours a week. The next nutjob calling me Linda in Tokay444 who has only owned 2 guns in his entire life one a 6.5 Creedmoor the other a 6BR. He is from Canada and shoots at the Galt facility mostly for plinking never in a match. Eric Cortina had Tim Sellars on his podcast and these same posters got you to delete the thread and Tim has been competing for 25 years and they combined have not one match under there belts. Your allowing of one sided banter is killing the board as everyone now calls it Typershide.
