Snapping Turtle on Lake Temagami with GoPro Underwater

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This is one reason you DON'T leave your fish on a stringer unattended. I've heard more stories about the one that "got away" by means of a snapping turtle munching it down than I care to count. Most of our turtle population is in Cross Lake, but there are a few around Lake Temagami too.

Snappers look like such clods on land, but this one almost appears graceful as it swims.

@ProFishermanJones If you are looking at getting a GoPro for underwater work, make sure you look at a flat lens housing for the underwater filming. I tried with the stock, and then got a flat lens from Eye of Mine and the difference is amazing and totally worth the extra expense. You will only have mediocre video from the stock housing.

Well, they're cool animals no matter how you look at it.

@outdoorsman132 I got my flat lens underwater housing from Eye Of Mine. Been a good lens. I think there is a glass version out there from someone else, but it was more expensive if I recall, and I found it after I got the Eye of Mine. This one is great, you just want to be careful to not scratch the lens. They do have a small built up section around the outside of the lens to protect it a bit, but still easy to let it get touched by something if you're not careful.
