Snap Jigging Up Shallow For Fall Walleyes

Today I am out on a Hayward, Wisconsin area lake targeting fall walleyes in shallow water. In this video i showcase one of my favorite ways to cast to fish in this shallow water situation. Kalins Jerk Minnow JR. I talk about how to catch walleyes on this bait all season long and how these fish are setting up in and around shallow weed edges this time of year. Thanks for watching!

I’ve been fishing for 30 years and have just received my PhD in fishology in reading side imaging and jigging techniques in past 2 months of watching. You’re a baller!!

Tried this for the first time on a local river, the morning after watching your video. Walleye are not overly common where I am, but, they are around in small numbers. I am glad to say it paid off! Was hesitant to try this while wade fishing on a small/ medium sized river in fear of snagging but didn't even lose one jig or have any issues. Just wanted to say thanks!

Love the walleye vids bud great info. I shore fish dams for my walleye up in the muskokas. One of the best cheap methods for rocky areas I find is 1/8-1/4oz jig heads with holo eyes and Berkley 3-5 inch pearl jerk minnows or northland smelt minnows. I find its a cheap way to get huge walleyes in spring and fall, works great for other species too. Just jig it 5-10" at a time in current and drift it on the drop, and boom huge bites. if you want to go expensive the vmc glow head moon eye jigs work amazing! the last few nights I've been out and nailed multiple eaters and 2 lunkers! thanks again for the vids man much appreciated!

Tom , fishing the Detroit river you have current running 11 mph from Lake St.Claire into the river then into Lake Erie. Would it be better to use the hyper rattle jigging bait or to use plastics with a heavy jig head? By the way I watch your videos all the time and I find that the information you give us is instrumental. Thanks sir .

Very cool bite you had there! I really did well this summer on the Mississippi River on the kalins 4" jerk minnow! Would love to have you down here to fish sometime I think there is a large viewership here that would benefit from your awesome understanding of side imaging!! Keep it up love watching your vids!!

Thanks again, Tom, for a great little video. Your filming style and content are exceptional. Love the screen shots. Can you comment on color for use in fall? Particularly the plastics? I assume they are not critical, but if you have any favorite colors, can you show us a few examples ?

Love the informational videos. I just upgraded to a humminbird Helix with SI (largely because of this channel), I'm having trouble getting the transducer positioned to get the clear readings like you seem to be able to. If you ever get time to do a video on installation and Ins/Outs of clear Side imaging...put me down for 5+ views!

Tom can you explain that snap jigging style you do ,,you seem to get a whip noise to the rod or string, I don't no if that comes from the recording angle, but from my ear I don't think I'm getting that whip and I keep spinning real between four fingers , it looked like you keep your hand in front of reel, maybe that's got something to do with it, can you do a detailed video of this technique, because it looks Awsome, I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly?..thanks Tom

Hey would you ever consider doing a review on the piscifun carbon x 2000. Anyways I was gonna buy a carbon x from seeing it in your videos. I am stuck between the 2000 and 3000. I would be fishing it on 6’6” medium fast action Fenwick elite and not sure which one I should spend my money on. Thanks for any help if you see this Tom.
