The paint names always amuse me. Maybe it's time for a 40k Warhammer/ baitmaking crossover. An Ultramarine-themed bait would look pretty sweet

When i saw you put in the hook hangers I couldn't get over it for a minute, I was like maybe he just knows something I don't. Bust out laughing when you noticed though haha

Actually if he put hook there he might actually catch a bass. Snag proof on the fish mouth.

@@geelangadipr223 ehh these things happen, I make lures too and I have thought about this concept for awhile, so I’m glad to see someone trying it out, not every idea is a winner. You’re right though since he has the hardware there if he liked the action he could just throw some trebles on there👍

2 marling bait videos in a week 😮🤤

Whhhhuuuuun day! That's the kind of clapping I like to hear bro
"I should test this before I paint it." Immediately paints it.
You were being obsequious. And the wood called you out. Brilliant. 😂
24:00 pulled on my heart strings when he mentioned chips strawberry lure.. we miss you chippy🍓
That was sickkk!!! I can't wait for round 2! Seriously, that's a killer design.
I think this is my favorite bait so far!
I’m a mechanic and because of you I learned to use super glue and baking soda to help glue stuff together in tight spots
This is an awesome design!
as always mate, nice video ... If I can suggest you something, with your skills and tools I would try a hybrid lure ... a wooden body (with weight and hook support) and a softbait tail where to hide the hook and make it weedless ... cheers man ...
I love watching your vids, you inspired me to make my own fishing lure. rip chip❤❤
I had a similar idea for a lipless crank! Glad to see I'm not the only person in pursuit of a snagless lipless crank haha. I haven't built anything lately though, but perhaps you could give my approach a try. Basically a line thru lipless. Tie up the line thru hook like a punch jig so it pops straight out on the hook set. Magnets holding it inside.
@mjbrophy01
27 күн бұрын
That's what I was thinking too. Hook needs to come out on hook set and somehow be attached to the line but somehow be able to be reset without human interaction in case of miss.
Love the color change with the snags
Quote of the month... "That's the kind of clapping I like to hear..." It's a good design overall, I have no doubt with a little refinement it will work great. I will say though, if you had the tail treble hook on as a back-up, you would have gotten several of those fish I think, but I understand the true test was the design of the hidden hook. Good Stuff. Tight Lines Nate!
I think that's one of my favorite paint jobs, and I love the hook system!
Hot take, take a blow torch to the bottom bend of the fish hook without taking the entire bait apart, and make a rig out of the vice to bend the tip of the hook out. I don’t think the fish will notice the little hook pointing out, but might if the tip is too big, so just bend it out by maybe 3/4ths of an inch
best paint job of the year
"I should test this before I paint"... "STARTING WITH; WHITE!" 😂😂 rolling
Dang, glad to see you won't give up on this one. I made a lure before just like this except it had a lever that stuck out the top which was attached to the hook that when a fish had the bait in its mouth and you pull, the lever pressed against the top of the fish's mouth levering out a hook from the bottom that was spring loaded into the bait. It was also a lipless crankbait just like a rat-L-trap. I fished with it once and at one point, 2 or 3 bass were going after it at the same time. But I could not hook them on it and gave up on the idea. I really believe if someone can perfect the weedless concept it can be a very effective idea since it can get down into all the brush. That was a really smart way to deploy the hook you tried there. Maybe could combine a mechanical partition with a soft plastic partition or something? Looking forward to seeing what you do next and good luck.
Very pleasing paint scheme. ❤
ive wanted all your baits but this one takes the cake for me
Awesome idea Nate
Were going to the Pike spot. Me, OH NO!
03:32 Corrosion of Conformity!!!! Hell yeah
Glad you're not giving up on this one Nate! It just has to work. The whole time I was watching this I was thinking a little feather teaser trailer on the back empty hook hanger was needed, but by the end of it I thought you might put a treble hook there, I know that it wouldn't be snag proof anymore but it would have been ofishle.....FishOn...jimi
That’s an excellent weedless crank design. Great build dude
Very nice craftsmanship! Keep up the great work!
I really love the idea of this bait. I bet it would be fantastic in a spook style bait. A slender body, and snagless. That would be a winner!
This is absolutely brilliant, I feel like companies will be making their own versions.😮❤. Just needs a little fine tunning.
Don’t let the PIKE bite. That hit the ol funny bone. You had some good ones in this vid. Thanks for the content Mr Marling
All ways amazed when you pull that mesh off after and not scratching the paint with it being so tight. over paint or clear coat something comes off. nice job.
Oh well, nice idea
I loved the concept and I sure thought it was easily be o-fish-all. Keeps with refining it. It was a beautiful paint scheme
This is one of the best lures I've ever seen on your channel. 10/10 mate!
Feather off the back. Underspin or tinsel off the belly if you want complete madness in a bait. The mechanically innovated features could be a series of baits that would go crazy for your channel, and potentially satisfy a underwhelmed consumer base. I want to make 20 of these for my friends. Idk if this exact design is on the market, but if not, don't be surprised if it's taken. Saw a similar Japanese concept recently, but was not perfectly convinced due to the force required for hook to deploy. Get the rights immediately if it's novel. Don't wait. Great work!
Man, great idea! Pretty bait too. That was amazing how it work so well wiggle wise & weight wise. Your entertaining and funny. Glad you got it back after being all jacked up in those limbs. Going to black & white is suspenseful. Fun video. Thank you!
Killer paint job, hell this whole build was 🔥🔥
Nice lure. Made it 4 years ago and works fine! If you need 1 i can send you! On to the next bait.
I literally fell asleep to this video a couple hours ago, I had to wake up and rewind 😂😂
This man just does NOT frickin miss omg
The most funny one day I’ve watched 😂
I just knew it was going to work. It was a great build on it anyway.
Your wood carved/panted baits are my favorites. I think they really display your craftsmanship. Can I make a bait request? do the fossil fish Coelacanth. “Make it official.”
A perfect break during finals week, thank you!!!

Please make another bait like this, smaller profile / refined hook. I feel this would be such a sick bait to prove out! Nice paint scheme, looks gorgeous!
The cup collection quip is so true!
Every video i hear you swy something that just makes my day go to drop a like and realize ive alreays done that... Bring the multi like ability into reality
Love watching your videos keep making them (From Indiana)
This is sooo sick!! Awesome stuff Nate!
Would love to see you make a Nessie style bait! Like a jointed soft plastic but with some cloth in the joint to help with the action and making it thinner! Killer idea!
I constanly forget to test mine before I paint. It usually doesn't work out near as well as that one did. Excellent addition to the course.
That's a cool lure
The cups in your shop made me go clean the ones out of my car
Genius Design
I guess you make a perfect bait when you know what the hell you're doing! This one's a beaut
Loving the lost dog nod ❤
Love the idea behind this bait! Definitely needs a revisit with a few little tweeks

Marlings looking buff these days
Love the lipless crankbaitssss ❤
I love the paint scheme. I think it was a great idea about the hook maybe a a size bigger on the hook might work.
Big thumbs for this! Invention and innovation is needed, especially as you have a lot of experience about lure making so I would suggest you to do it all the time, as you do.
this is the sickest lure ive seen straight up engineered this one
A good marling vidjah to turn my day around❤
That is a cool paint scheme Nate!
Very nice craftsmanship thank you for the video on to the next bait
Says It's snag-less, then snags it twice 😂 she's a beaut though Nate!
Dad and I watched this video on which he has a few insights. before fish, wash hands scent the lure itself artificially great work! outstanding talent! Fish On! Tight Lines! ...dad says, "You're welcome." -.- 😁
Amazing, I NEED one of these lures now! Truly a professional getting all the unorthodox mechanical stuff done in about an hour. 15:08 yes, we know what it was like. We've all been there.
Love this paint scheme
Great color result
That was a cool bait design!
I laughed too hard at the " ..don't let the PIKE bite"
Loving the consistent uploads!!
Miss not seeing Chip moochin' around in the background, hope he had the send off the handsome lad deserved!
Love your content Nate!!! Keep up the amazing work
I always enjoy your experimental baits. They are my favorite videos.
1:40 This sent me crying😂😂😂
That looks about right!
Has to be my favorite paint job... and good job Sarah on the chip carving. That looked awesome too
Since fish usually hit the head of bait, you need to make one with a front deploy hook!
man you're a genius, awesome video.
Are you trying to tell us your drill press died without actually telling us? the last couple months of hand held led holes is STRESSIN ME OUT hahahaha
My wife and I love the relaxing tone of your voice.
Cool concept. Looks like one that will work, but will require a lot of fine tunning to do so. Maybe the problem there is that the fish bite is more like a cone than a cylinder? Then the hook point only gets out when the 'lip" of the fish presses the bait, so only when it is pretty much out of its mouth. I think you could make a sketch of the profile of a bass mouth and think how it opens and closes to get the bait to work. There are some cool slow motions on youtube that could help with that. Good look!
I was just fishing with my buddy the other day using a lipless crank. I kept telling him how much I hated the lipless crank because of how the line gets stuck in the trebles and it’s always getting snagged. Of course you come out with this banger the next day, I’ve got to make one of these.😮
Glad to hear Days of the New is back on deck. Maybe you could reach out to them for a collab . I think you’re on that level now. Finally found a reason, you don’t need an excuse.
Such a cool bait. The clown kihli fish would also make a fun paints scheme. Also I've asked before but a bosmani rainbowfish or peacock gudgen would make killer paint jobs
