Snack on Exercise - Boost Your Mind, Body and Mood | Lauren Parsons | TEDxOneonta

Exercise has incredible life-giving properties, fighting depression & disease, yet so many people miss out on these benefits. What if we could simply ‘snack on exercise’ in four, one-minute bursts each day?
This idea is all about shifting people’s paradigms around exercise to see it as a fundamental, integral and uplifting part of their day, to consider it a gift and a joy rather than another chore to add to their to-do lists. Lauren Parsons grew up in New Zealand as the non-sporty kid who lacked all confidence in herself physically. Then as an adult, went from being a workaholic gym manager with 'no time to train' to completely shifting her paradigms around exercise. She is passionate about helping others discover the easiest and most fun way to fit exercise into their own lives.
Lauren is an award-winning Wellbeing Specialist, with 18 years’ experience in health and wellbeing. Founder of Get Fit Feel Fabulous, the Snack on Exercise movement and author of Real Food Less Fuss, and 7 Health and Fitness Myths To Overcome. Lauren is a sought-after keynote speaker and thought leader who helps people and organizations boost their health, energy, and productivity. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This is awesome Lauren:-) Well done on such an inspiring talk. It's really so simple isn't it! I love the snack on exercise concept and it usually helps me feel better than having one dedicated exercise session anyway (which doesn't always fit in with my life as a mum anyway). I'm also a blogger so I tend to spend a fair bit of time sitting down now. I try to counter this somewhat by drinking heaps of water so that I need to have lots of regular breaks that make me get up and get my body moving at the same time:-). Loved the bit where you mentioned doing your little routine on your long haul flight. I can totally relate to that - I was on a long haul flight 2 days ago and tried to move a bit here and there...I felt more self conscious than usual being 31 weeks pregnant and drawing plenty of stares even without doing the exercises!

    9. Many athletes around the world include yoga into their workout to maintain flexibility. In order to maintain energy levels then you can take ashwagandha capsules from Planet ayurveda for best results.
