But this is Japan we talkin about. The mascots are more common here than any nations on earth. So probably it's light and breathable. Some sweat is still there, maybe. But maybe not that much.

@@DBT1007 its more that the expo itself was... quite warm when crowded. Doesn't matter how good the suit is, if you are moving this much (as the video shown) in that space with such a suit, its gonna be boiling inside

could also have Fans hidden under the mascot skirt for air circulation since it's flared, and small PC fans in that application are fairly quiet.

Didn't inow Japan Mascot suits now used EOD suit tech. Yes, EOD suits include as part of the gear that goes with the wearer inside a small size AC unit to keep the internal temp just BARELY within tolerable range, especially if one had to do sone EOD in the Middle East to disarm an IED where causing it to explode wasn't feasible (Infrastructure or Urban zone) or outright not remotely sane (Aka, the AlQaeda decided to use a USSR 500Kg bomb as the IED)

@@andrehashimoto8056internal active cooling is really rare, I have yet to come across any real uses of those. The most common ones are cooling plates such as QORE ICEPLATE Curve with chilled water allowing the person inside to retain their body temps in that boiling heat. Works fine for a couple hours but still gets really really toasty.

I hope they have some form of ventilation in there. That big head can fit a couple of small fans - the only issue would be making them super quiet. Otherwise, ice packs, maybe.

These ones are big enough to have fans inside, also ice packs. With those two things they are almost bearable. I’ve worn one outside for 8 hours in Texas heat, and it was literal torture. I lost pounds from sweat

I love the sound of each step, it's like they put small wooden plates under the soles to make this really distinct noise while she's walking.

Being in a mascot suit is actually really hard work - it's hot and stuffy in there and movement is difficult. It's a job that takes a lot of dedication, and they're doing a great job - it's hard to communicate so much character with such a limited range of motion!

the people in the costumes are doing a stellar job out there being their silly selves, but smol ame always kicks it out of the park whenever they show up, hope the people in the mascots get a raise it makes me hope that for 6th fes they end up bringing more mascots out into the real world, i imagine stuff like guyRyS and onigirya would be nice and easy to get set up, altho my personal hope would be seeing listener-kun going around, even tho the costume would be really top-heavy

I love that they had to assign her an escort wearing a neon clothing, "We know you can't see, so just follow me, I'll be the one with the peach neon jacket around my waste."

Having worn a mascot suit at a job I had, I can confirm for all who were saying that these things are no joke. I only had to fill in for the guy normally doing it, so it was three trips of 10 minutes with 15 minute breaks in between. At first I thought this was a great exaggeration; HR going crazy with employee protection or something like that, but soon after, having stopped to greet a group of kids who were conveniently positioned under a patch of sun, I realised it wasn't. The suit is heavy and violently hot, it doesn't align with your balance, the head despite having a huge mesh and gaps between it and the main body feels like a full on gasmask. I never moved faster than a relaxed stroll, except for a small stretch to the office, which I would usually jog just to get the head off ASAP. The total assignment took about an hour, however I was ready to turn in for the day immediately afterwards XD Anyhow, I imagine with this being Japan at least some of the issues have been alleviated to a degree, but even still, huge respect to the costume person. Still, I'd maybe consider doing this full time with jumping and running if my salary was about 4 times higher than it was during my first experience 😂
