as a pest expert,i'm extremely embarrassed for that pest control company any expert should know you can't foam holes to exclude rats from a house or building. they will chew through it. you can plug the holes with steel wool and then foam the holes they dont like chewing through steel wool because it hurts there teeth

Steel wool is good but it rusts away. I have seen lots of old exclusion repairs that have rotted away. Always use copper, check out copper stuff it that comes in rolls. Homeowners can use copper scouring pads used for pots and pans , I have used Chore Girl pads in a pinch. If you use foam to encapsulate the copper with it will last indefinitely

My mother grew up close to a large river, during prohibition and the city had put a bounty on rats. Her father was from Cornwall England, and she told us that he used to make extra money by clearing houses of rats. He also cleared many blind pigs (which was where they sold illegal booze). What he did was to catch a rat, put it in a cage, douse it with fuel, light it on fire, then douse the fire and let the screaming, smoking rat run through the house he was clearing. All the other rats would run out of the house, in all directions, and my uncles, standing outside, would kill as many of them as they could, with bats, and collect the bounty. He made pretty good money doing this, as he eventually left his regular job, bought two Belgian horses, and used them to help build bridges for the city. My mother said he treated the horses like royalty and all these years later I still remember their names, Rock and Nancy.

There are so few companies so detailed meticulous as you guys! You solve and look for HOW the mice/rats are entering a house. Almost all companies are lazy and don’t want to spend the time doing that! All they do is set up traps and leave. I rather pay more to know exactly where the mice or rat is coming from rather than just pay for traps knowing they can always come back anytime.

As a woman living in the city, there are field mice and city rats!!! The old home of my house was a cheap person and I had rats coming the dining room under the window area that had storage space but the drawers were stolen when the house was vacant!!! I went outside and looked under the place where the window sat and found he had the plastic campaign signs instead of wood there and I had scrap items there and that was the entry spot!!! Another problem we became aware of was the enclosed front porch!!! He had paneled the walls and there was a hole upward in one of the walls inside, that stood next to the outdoor steps!!! We was aware of the possibility of mice, not rats possibly coming in so we stuffed it with plastic store bags and all was fine until we started using the bags thus creating the opening for them to come on in!!! We had rats in the porch and coming into the the other rooms because we left the doors open to the hallway to the porch!!! They was targeting the dog food!!! The dog hated them and would go charging into the room when they entered!!! I bought the big rat traps at first and they would get off before I could get to it, they used to let out screams like a human!!! Many laugh at me when I tell them the stories, but it is true!!! They have screams that sound like a human!!! Once I brought one of my beloved stray cats in to get them at first once they realize he was on the scene they went to screaming to the high heaven, I tell you the truth!!! There was three of them one ran into the sun porch another one came forward from the cabinet and I saw BJ do a zorro move and I thoughts the rat had escaped, the last one ran out the door outside and then I saw BJ tossing something in the air and it was the rat he had killed when he made that zorro move!!! Amen!!! It was later told to me BJv used to be in the fields and was known as the rat killer!!! Amen!!! LOL!!! It was so fast Once I realized this we knew that wall area in the front foyer of the entrance into the house and the flooring underneath either didn't exist and or the rats had chewed a hole to make an entry and would climb up the wall and be in the foyer ready to do damage!!! So my daughter had noticed a small hole in the floor of a part of the small square floor immediately beyond the foyer leading upstairs to the upstairs apartment and she said you can see the ground underneath the house!!! So we were like it is quite possible that the foyer wall with the paneling might be sitting over the same since one would have to get under the outside crawl space under the front foyer area to verify!!! One needs to watch where they scurry off to and trace them back to the entry place from the inside outside, just follow the route inside then walk along outside, check basement and attic for there are also roof rats!!! I finally saw them on the roof of an abandoned house!!! One must plug holes with wire mesh, steel wool and are metal sheeting!!! I recently came across video which shows baking soda mixed with peanut butter and or a flour mixture equal parts will kill rats because it inhibits their ability to past gas!!! Amen!!! I am sure DCON added to the mixture will certify the death!!! Amen!!!! I plan to take the paneling off and nail wire mesh or sheeting to the frame and the floor depending on the need once I remove the paneling!!!

The mother rat than dug next to U/G wire to gain access to inside . Then chewed thru plastic water pipe causing flood. After this they dug thru drywall and had the run of the house. After placing Cheese on a MONSTER brand rat trap, 9 snaps later , there is no sign of them. I cemented around the wire and added wire mesh around the cable

We had rats move into a nearby creek. We used 15 gallons of homemade napalm, gas, k1, and laundry soap. The resulting explosion took my dad's facial hair off and knocked me on my ass....but...no more rats. It did set the surface of the fast moving creek on fire for quite some distance and that was a great cause of concern for the neighbors cows who fled in terror. Still one of the best family stories.

Interesting. Those rodent are still getting in the sub area through other places than that 3” pipe. Also. Smoking/fogging the plumbing vents, I don’t really understand what the idea behind that is for. Unless your assuming the rodents are going through the plumbing pipes and chewing a hole out of them. When securing a structure from rodent, why arnt you securing the exterior structure? Maybe you secured the 1-2 entry point in the sub area, but if your not keeping rodents from entering the sub area In general, then it’s only a matter of time before the find themself a new way in.

Just had a good flash back of my old job watching this and seeing the containment up. 😊 great containment. I did water, mold, asbestos and fire damage claims. Even the containment’s, cutting into drywall and clean ups. And I honestly don’t miss it 😂🤣😂🤣🤷🏿‍♂️ did that for 5yrs. Was so glad once we stopped doing septic tanks. 🤢🤣😂

just subbed after watching for a bit, why are these so entertaining? Just satisfying I suppose. Had a Rat issue when I moved into my apartment, they were coming under the security door and going under my oven and into a random cabinet I never wanted to use because it was full of random grocery bags and I never thought twice. Had to figure it out myself, and one night after stepping out of the bathroom and literally stepping on a rat as I exited I was MAD, and disgusted. I ran into the kitchen after it and saw it go under the oven. Figured where they were going after pulling out the oven, I then, in my boxers and slippers, took the end of a broom handle and started shoving it into the cabinet with grocery bags. Had one pop out, AAAHHH screamed like a little girl and it just ran out the security door bottom lol. Kept at it, eventually got down to one rat, had it trapped in the kitchen so I stomped on it in my slippers to catch it, and then just put all my weight on it...GROSS, but no more rats!

Wow! So impressed! I own a townhome and have had mice (not bad but to me just one is an issue) since I bought the place 10 years ago. I feel defeated bc in a townhome you're sharing walls with 2 other units that you have no control over. I think no matter what I do, I can't fully solve the problem since I can't control what my neighbors are doing. After a few years of trying to eliminate the mice with no success, I found out my neighbor has a hoarding issue, which just made me sick to my stomach bc I'm over here doing everything I can and she is living in complete filth (she doesn't clean up after her dog and the poop build-up in her backyard is unreal.) I would love to call you but live in New Mexico. Do you have any advice for me as far as how I can help myself? I feel like the mice are winning this battle and it's honestly contributing to my depression/anxiety. I know it sounds ridiculous but that's exactly how trapped this situation is making me feel. I would appreciate anything you can throw my way! Love your commitment 👏 ❤️.

Should let the homeowner know to remove those extension cords out from under the crawl space! Never use extension cords plugged in 24/7 and especially in a crawl space. Major fire hazard because it gets hot being on all the time and shorts/catches fire.

Extension cord company wouldn’t be sued because it states on the packaging to not leave plugged in, would be the fault of the person that left it connected. They can be plugged in for lengths of time and not be an issue, depends on what is plugged into it and how many things.
