Part 1: • Smokey Robinson: My Da...
--------
In this clip, Vlad started off asking Smokey Robinson if he stayed in contact with Michael Jackson before his death in 2009, and Smokey explained that Michael never kept anyone around who said “no.” Smokey added that Michael even distanced himself from family members who corrected him or told him “no.” Vlad then spoke about Michael’s live-in doctor giving him anything he wanted, and Vlad and Smokey spoke about their experience with Propofol, the drug Michael died from. Smokey then added that Michael and Elvis were a lot alike, and he explained that doctors want to be connected to powerful people. Smokey also spoke about Michael never being the same after his hair caught on fire during the Pepsi commercial fiasco. Smokey then revealed that his wife called him crying about Michael dying, which you can hear more about above.

What Smokey is saying is true. MJ definitely didn't like being told "NO". And I've heard this from MULTIPLE people who was around MJ. BUT, I want people to try and understand from Michaels POV. And smokey alluded to this, Since being a young child, Michael NEVER had full control of his life. Between Motown/Berry Gordy, Hollywood business, and his father Joseph-- Michael was ALWAYS told what to DO, what to SAY, what NOT to do and what NOT to say....since the age of 5. There were plenty of these people telling him No, dont to this and that. and some of that included normal kid stuff...that they said he couldnt be apart of because he was now a big commodity for alot of these money hungry Hollywood people. He never had any say in his own life. So when he was finally able to break free, he wanted full control of his life. He was tired of people telling him what to do and what he couldnt do. Now I'm not saying he didn't make some bad choices, but imagine being told what to do well into your adult life and not being able to make decisions for yourself?? Unfortunately he made Alot of bad decisions and distanced himself some of those people he NEEDED to hear 'NO' from...but can you blame him...? MJ being robbed of a normal childhood, in addition to the 'abuse' he suffered as a child really had its effect on him. Mike was too sensitive and not mentally ready for alot of that stuff he went throught at that early of an age. But he was tough....make no mistake about it. Any other person woulda 'self deleted' as they say.... Michael was definitely wired different.

You can't be a normal kid. This happened to Michael well into his early adult years...

Smokey is spot-on about the Pepsi accident changing the trajectory of Michael's life. Having to take the pain killers is what started the prescription pill issues. One thing I'd say, though, is that Michael was being taken advantage of by AEG. They knew he wasn't feeling well, and they didn't care.

The only problem is he owed so much money and it's like MJ said it was just business. We cant agree with MJ that it was just business then be upset when someone else treats it as such. I definitely hate that he had so many people around him who wanted something from him because that's what killed him. He could have spent all the money he wanted it was his, but all those people who sued him wrongly. Jordy and his family got 20 mil the Francia family victor Gutierrez owed him 2mil when he fled to keep from paying him.. all the lawyer fees he could have kept, all of the sleep he lost etc.. neverland 5 when he counter sued them. The people who claimed he stole their song. Like MJ said they knew in their heart that they didnt write those songs

@@heavenawilson7271 @Heavena Wilson i dont disagree it definitely made him look guilty he said in his 2005 trial it was his biggest regret He had the opportunity to make it go away if it's what he wanted to do when Evan Chandler first accused him of it. If MJ didnt give him money he would go to the authorities. He could have just paid the money but he knew he wasnt guilty of anything and he knew he would win in court. Also evan being recorded and saying he would get everything he wanted and didn't care how it all affected Jordy, him saying what kind of lawyer he chose and for what reason made them look incredible. Even tom meseareu said had they fought in 93 he would have won because they had no case. Why go through that much to make the civil trial fo before the criminal? Then they kept trying to get more money Did you know that the settlement was for negligence and paid by his insurance company? They would have lost billions of dollars and been drawn out 5 to 7 years. Mj tried to fight the case but his lawyers advised him not to. His problem was that because they let the civil trial go first the other side had access to all of his info and could change dates and do whatever just to dit their narrative. The case could have still landed him in prison. They sued him civilly and even after they got the money they could have proceeded with a criminal trial but they. Chose not to. The discription of his penis that the young man gave also did not match he one said he was circumcised but MJ was not he also described the marking wrong. Has since said MJ never touched him and legally will fight anyone who comes after him.

She said she would always be honest with MJ and remind him not to lose who he truly was. He stopped speaking to her because she became a No person just like Smokey hinted at. All respect to Smokey, but I couldn't speak so definitively about someone I hadn't spoken to in years. There are a lot of reasons why Michael wasn't in contact with people like his family. A lot of people were attempting to eat off Michael and he became very paranoid of people's intentions as time went on. His own family didn't always have his best interest at heart either. It's the sad truth. It was part of the price of his level of fame tbh. It's depressing to think about, but then we wouldn't have the musical landscape we have now without him and everything he did. Please believe if he listened to his dad and Berry and them, we wouldn't have Thriller, and that opened the door, especially for black artists of the 80s up to now. It quite frankly saved the record industry from going bust at that time.

Smokey is right about Michael Jackson only surrounding himself with yes people. It even caused the riff with his sister, Janet, and they had been close. She spoke about it in her documentary. It's sad, but Michael's end came to him because of himself. Smokey is also right about Elvis. That is the one thing that I wish they had expressed more in the movie. Elvis only wanted people around him who did exactly what he said, and that's why he died from that combination of drugs and bad dieting.

The invetigators were beside themselves the prosecutors didn't go for 2nd degree mudrer. If you listen to Judge Pastor's closing speech he literally said Murray's act was way beyond involuntary manslaughter, the judge basically apologized he can't sentence Murray for more than 4 years, because law doesn't let him to. The expert witnesses simply spit on Murray. Amazing testimones, btw. So let's not follow the media narrative in this. There is one person responsible for MJs death and that's Conrad Murray and him alone.

Born in '91 (my bday is Aug. 29th so I do share that with MJ) so obviously I wasn't around for the Pepsi fire and whatnot. However, from the countless documentaries, specials, biopics, interviews, etc. I wager one of MANY reasons that Michael 'divorced' himself from his family was due to the fire. Think about it, he wanted to go solo before age 18. His mother said in one interview that MJ may want to go solo because he doesn't need his brothers, but his brothers need him. I don't know the exact details of course, but based on The American Dream biopic, MJ didn't want to do the Pepsi run with The Jacksons post-Motown 25. Heck, the Victory Tour is what prevented him from doing a Thriller tour. Putting his family ahead of his own wants is what lead to his hair catching fire and well I sure as heck wouldn't want to be the family breadwinner if it almost killed me...I think that was when he first started getting drawn (I don't wanna say addicted) to the usage of pills to ease whatever pain or whatnot he was experiencing later in life.

His security or handlers called a former nurse about a week before he died to ask her what to do because he was hot on one side of his body and cold on the other and she told them to take him to the hospital because his central nervous system was shutting down. The more we listen the better we’ll understand how serious the fire accident was. Michael had 3rd degree burns, a plate, and when they released the autopsy information if I remember correctly it was said he was completely bald at the time of his death. And it also said he had scars on his legs consistent with those suffering from vitiligo. So imagine growing up in the spotlight where everyone payed so much attention to your looks.

That's not quite the case (him being fully bald). However the autopsy mentioned over 10 cuts (from surgeries) on the top of his head. While there were only 2-2 cuts by the side of his nostrils... (which means only 2 plastic surgeries on thr nose)

Not true at all, Michael's autopsy stated he had about 2 to 3 inches of short curly hair underneath his wig. He was not bald, which Latoya also confirmed as she had to go with authorities to watch them remove hair from Michael's deceased body. Michael also did not have any plate in his head, he had surgery to repair his burned scalp which his own hair eventually grew over it. Patches of his hair started to fall out from lupus which led to the wigs, but he was not bald.

Smokey is on point, MJ had a bunch of yes men around him. His music, appearance and life suffered because of that
