Try "scania rak 8" swedish for straight 8. The sound is equal or better.

Drove machine with this engine she did 30,000 hours with me with not a issue with the engine other than a turbo. She just kept pulling 24 hours a day for 4 years only shutting her off for oil changes. Around 25,000 hours she started to use a litre between services which was acceptable, her power was still there not quite as crisp but still lugged full payloads up the cliff face with a light stream of black smoke all day. She went on to do around another 5,000 hours for another contractor after we retired her

More of a d13 volvo motor man myself. Use to love Cummins but after driving a volvo with a d13 in it. I was like screw a Cummins.

Hi guys, if what I just saw is true this scania engine without starting aids fire up practicly that erfect at 5 degress lead me to believe that the scania diesel technology is far ahead from other diesel engines manufacturers and I was born and raised in the gasoline and diesel technology, at 68 years of age I have seen that, congratulations to scania engine company and each and everyone that one way or another made it possible to bring it to us, from Puerto RIco to you guys .......Jesus Torres, please keep up the good work.

If you take a modern Scania engine into to any modern city, what comes OUT the exhaust pipe is cleaner than the air going INTO the engine. So its basically like driving a giant air purifier with the sweetest sounding engines ever :)

Scania diesel technology up to 8000ccm from Mack trucks and Cummins..The originally Scania engines bulit maximum 8000ccm and 6-8 cyl inline.The V8 series from Mack trucks!!!!

but this swede has 20000 hrs on its back, have been beaten and banged by noumerous drivers who dont care much about the machine. Its 20 degrees below at night and had been sitting still for a long time. But i agree, it fires right up in the same manner if its -35 degrees if the batteries are good.

The exhaust runs through the sides of the body to heat it, to prevent the load sticking.

@@SootyMangabey. ... that engine is a 14 litre V8, it's either a 450,470,or a 500hp ... I should know,I used to repair these engines.. and you say 250hp...? Scania didn't do a 14 litre engine just to get 250hp from it...

Splitter S it’s exactly the same engine as 2 series engine so it might not be 500
