Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 45 Performance Center. Nice upgrades

Ойын-сауық

Took out my new to me M&P Shiled45 Performance Center handgun. I am pleased with this used gun and how it performed. I do need to take it back to the range to zero the sites before I would consider carrying it.
Has a great trigger

    i like my performance center shield .45, but boy that thing gets very dirty with those ports , compared to my sons non ported version

  • @TheBandit59

    I have never had a problem with mine ; it’s accurate and reliable . The only thing that is an issue is that the porting makes this thing really filthy to shoot , it puts black residue all over everything !especially when you compare it to a non ported one. I carry it most of the time in summer and spring; and if I’m dressing for colder weather, I’ll pack my Night Hawk , shadow hawk, great video; I just subscribed.

    Yes, during the weather months I carry this out my new Walther PPS due to its smaller size and during the winter I go with my large M&P 40 due to having more clothing to conceal it.

    do you think the increased noise from a ported barrel is a good tradeoff for the intended affect on recoil/muzzle flip?

  • @PatriotOutdoors2022

    @PatriotOutdoors2022

    2 жыл бұрын

    Didn't notice that much of a difference really. Of course that could be due to ear protection being worn while firing it. It did reduce the recoil and muzzle flip quite a bit though especially for a 3.3 inch barrel on a .45

    I guess I was a police officer in the 80 & 90’s; when I started we carried revolvers with 6 rounds; I always felt a 1911, was a few more shots and that sound thinking and shot placement was more important than round count? I’ve only been in 3 actual shootouts in 18 years of law enforcement ; but I have always believed that the first shot on target usually wins that gunfight ;I don’t care how many rounds you carry

    I agree with that. Shoot placement outweighs number of rounds to put on target. I enjoy your input, especially with the experience you have. Any other thoughts of wisdom would be greatly appreciated and takin.

    Why not just a single stack 6+1 compact 1911 over the shield 45? Curious.

    The 1911 style handguns are not double action. The first round is a hammer cock then squeeze vs just a trigger squeeze with the stricker fire handguns. Much faster reaction time with a striker with one less step to engage your target. You could always walk around with your 1911 cocked and ready to go but I'm not sure if that is the correct answer not to mention the safety aspect of a cocked and ready to go handgun. Hope this answered your question and if you have any others, please feel free to ask.

    Not needing 15 rounds? I think you forgot blm and the rioting they did attacking patrions. Yes, you avoid that situation, but there were several occasions where they just surrounded people before they could get away.
