That has to be the tallest carriage return arm I’ve ever seen.
I love the Smith Corona typewriters. They are so good. Love typing on them. I have a 1953 Smith Corona Super, 1955 Smith Corona Sterling & last but as they say, not least, I have a 1965 Smith Corona Sterling. They are all beautiful and work beautifully too!
It’s been a while since I’ve visited this channel, so glad it’s still going, excellent videos, somehow whenever I click on a video I learn something new and see a cool new typewriter
That blue-aqua Corsair (in the same color) was the first typewriter I ever used. My mother owned it. I distinctly remember thumbing those big white buttons to lift the lid off. Great memory. Now I have lots of typewriters, but not that one. Yet.
Really loving these videos profiling a single brand with various models from different years. Looking forward to the next one.
Love your videos!!
Love the blue colors in these machines! And that STOP MOTION animation was EVERYTHING Sarah!!! So cool and cute at the same time, and really suited the vibe of the video! I still don't own a typewriter... I'm waiting until I finish a home reno project and a film project before I start looking in person, but my plan is to get myself a "congratulations" gift once those two projects are done... which will motivate me NOW to get them done lol 😊❤👍
I have my eye on a 1920s Corona with glass top keys
Great video!
I had a Corsair Deluxe when I was in college; typed a whole lot of papers on that thing. Sadly, I have no recollection of what I ever did with it. Presently, I have a Galaxie 12 which needs a bit of work on the ribbon spool mechanism. I really enjoy your videos--keep up the good work!
I just subscribed and I'm your 100th thumbs up. I started with a 1970 Smith Corona Electric 120 that, does not work, and I discovered that although it looks in mint condition, the motor is burned out, BUT I am determined, of best part when I contacted the seller who had said nothing about it broken desided to not only gove me my money back BUT said just keep it as it's been a trouble Typewriter for them...I tried to insert paper and it tore the livibg shhhh out of it lol I said You poor thing how long has the abuse lasted how long have you been alone? I fond a tiny micro screw was jambed in the platen so thats why it was eating paper, i then found a guy who fixes their motors so I got one of those coming, cleaned it up, I can feel it wants to love back it really does and I hear I am in for a lot of fun replacing the motor but since Im a master mechanic on cars this shouldn't be too bad. I'm also a writer and use to jse a Typewriter back in the mid 80s and mid 90s but went to computer I have latly been missing that connection to the work and the extra layer of proofreading and editing. So I said I want a serious fast machine and got this poor broken storm cloud lol it is in that Storm Grey color which I love. I am determined ne motor and belts...should be interesting, I won't lie, if i can bring it back I might cry because so many have basically given up and have been trying to throw it away. And since it has its original spools and Samsonite case I bet it had one owner was used for 3 or so years, put away and it sat maybe dragged out and used off and on but mostly sat as it is in no joke here really really good shape. Thanks for reading and if you'd like an update on the project I have decided to name it Friend or Ally in the language of the Lakota Tribe Native American Indians, as I have Lakota as well.. it's Lakota lol, , let me know if you'd like an update on how Lakota is doing let me know as of this writting 12-02-23. Thermal labels are a special kind of material that are used by thermal printers, They also make Thermal Paper for thermal printers including Thermal Typewriters. On a funny note my Smith Corona shipped in a box that had a Smith Corona Therma Label used lol❤
That 50's one best resemble a typewriter to me, I can imagine the days of mad men with it.

I really like 50s and 60s style machines- anything older I start to worry I’ll break it
Great video! I have several SC's and 2 LCSmiths with ball bearing type bars.I have a SC 88 that looks similar to Dane Maggie. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos,always fun!
I would LOVE to get my paws on an Alpine Blue Super Silent.
I just got a Smith corona galaxie II the other day and so far I like it just waiting on a fresh ink spool in the mail :)

I only hate some of them…..
I think its worth mentioning that Smith-Corona bought the Marchant Calculator company in 1958 and became SCM.

Thanks for sharing that. I rec'd my 1954 Silent-Super in the early 70s but saw the "SCM" logo on newer models; did that mean "Smith-Corona Machines"? Now to learn more...🙂
I've been fortunate enough to find 2 S.C. Sterling typewriters, one black, one maroon, but I hear there is a Navy Blue colour out there. My favorite (out of the dozen or so I have) is my S.C. electric in a script font, followed closely by an Oliver No. 5. visible.

I love the smith corona machines- I just wound up with a '49 sterling and I love it!
Did they have one called the crown jewel edition? I love all your typewriters.
Just bought my first Smith Corona, a Galaxy Deluxe…after watching Joe Van Cleave talk about one. It’s my first typewriter from eBay, which means it’s subject to packing and postal carriers. I’m excited but nervous!!!

@@JustMyTypewriter I’m sure I will :)
Are you referring to the Antique Depot in Duncansville? I go there all the time, and yes, my first typewriter is a Smith Corona Electra 110 I bought "as-is" for $30 and just needed the motor to be pushed along for about 5 seconds, and now it runs perfectly 🥰

@@edwardweiss7145 I've picked up a few from there- that Smith Corona Pacemaker, an Underwood Deluxe and a few toy typewriters too- there's one booth in the middle that always has a typewriter, and if it's under 25 I usually just buy it

Growing up, my father was a speech writer- and had a Smith Corona Electra 120 (I think).. He had two actually, one blue like yours, and one a wacky 1970's burnt orange color. They had a very specific whirring sound when you'd turn them on. Question for you: how does the Corsair Deluxe compare (typing feel wise) to a 5-series, say a Sterling or a Silent?
@JustMyTypewriter

The deluxe is very lightweight so it's not sturdy when typing. It tends to shift on the table. Now having repaired a different corsair deluxe (there's a video on my channel!), I wouldn't recommend them for anyone.

Good day. ¿It is true that portable typewriters are smoother to type than other models? Thanks.
@JustMyTypewriter

Portables seem to be smoother than ultra portables, but if you want a smooth typing experience, I would go with a desk standard
use to think typewriters r only for people who were old enough to use one in the 20th century, seems like not
