IMO: not necessarily a bad thing, for example; i marked scylla as my target and im going for mids with my midlaner, by her knowing that she'll have to keep in mind that if she comes for mids im going for her forcing her to play defensively and sacrifice mids or gets focused and hopefully die.

I don't think being notified of the mark is a nerf, I feel it can change a persons play style. If your going for a gold fury and "Scylla" is marked (hoping she's mid) would have to change how she would engage in a team fight not knowing it's a bait or something. And if you die and someone is losing lane, you can then choose a certain lane to target and help them out.

you need to mark the enemy jungler or solo because Solo stuck under tower is much worse for the solo than it is for a mid who has range to work with. On the solo you can starve them out of a match under a tower much easier.

Nope.It's way better to keep mid laner under tower and control mid camps/fg minions than to keep solo under tower and let them control mid.If you have mid control and lets say your duo is doing fine you can force gold fury witch is better than keeping solo under tower.

Jacob Cox Basically fuck solo laners. Hi Rez needs to rework the map. Solo is the least fun role That side of the map is so dark too. So depressing just sitting under tower watching them farm in front of you

its really not solo is one of the most popular tbh in casuals at least 3 people try to pick it because it's such a calm lane and you can pick whatever you want and your encouraged to outplay that specific god like im erlang shen and he is tyr I could use my 2 to focus on clear or I could restrict his fearless while doing it or before then. Hence making rotating to other roles a little easier through the solo laner mentality but also possibly weaker as solo laners dont rotate as often as mid,supp and jungle.

Solo when stuck under tower and when Kali marking them will make things easier yes you may lose mid harps but you also can push into the other teams side of the Jungle. As a solo when I clear wave but when wave is clear I go to the jungle. Can't do that if Kali is in the jungle. While mid is an easy target it also is an easy kill with out the mark which almost makes it a waste. Now late game is different where killing one person in a team fight can swing everything. Then you mark middle.

I think it's fine because most people in conquest will realize that jungle Kali always marks Mid so having the mark show up isn't that big of a deal. If people know about the patch's buff then they pretty much know who's going to be marked either way, especially if they're competent players.

I agreeeeeeee, what you said about that Scylla playing so safe because of the notification does pretty much show how her new "buff" works against her...

also i found out yesterday if you die and then respawn while the enemy team is all dead you can't leave base because there is no one to select.

fought a kali in clash the other day, not only can you see her mark on yourself but it's visible on your allies as well. as a Guardian main i have never received so many thank you messages before this nerf.

The build i use on Kali on my last games is kind working, I rush Fatalis as a first item, Get the tier 2 Boots than i go for the rest of the build ( Quin's Sai, Stone Cutting Sword etc... ) I know its not the best build, But its working for me o/

haven't seen the video yet but comments keep saying how opponent team gains information by knowing kalis target.. doesn't she also get some information aswell now when her target dies? knowing who's the closest person to you might sometimes tell you possible positions of opponents ur team doesnt know the exact position. even if it might not be much people seem to ignore this

I still use your old As boots qins fatalis executioner deathbringer wind demon build... What exactly would you reccomend now for Kali? I enjoy playing her, so I'd like to know this kind of thing and not be an idiot. Also, I agree, the last part pisses me off.

is this notification proved? I mean, i haven't seen yet and like,when you are the mid laner and the enemy jungler is kali, you will always be easier target for her. Scylla might have just guested that she was the target because of that.

It's a buff. The fact that the target is aware isn't as big a deal as you make it out to be. The buff is massive and the nerf is pretty insignificant

I like it because it's lore accurate. Kali is the godesse of destruction and she seek revenge to whoever as the mark, so it make sense that the target now know that Kali want to kill them.

I actually think this is fair enough. It's almost like LoL's recent changes, making it more fair for the enemy to have time to react and have more on strategy.

I honestly think it's a fair trade, just changes up the game for Kali a bit, you can use the fact that they know now to your advantage, so not always gonna be bad, hence I think it's more a buff than anything

Most Importantly do my teammates know who is my mark target? This will add mind games having teams switch up their strategic approach, the game of Reaper and Death,Hunter vs the Hunted, Protect the Carry, etc. The biggest prob it will fix is Kill stealing when my Kali dive towers.

Duke Sloth, nice video, but i felt that you overlook something..... Kali solo- she'll be able to agress the fuck out of her laner, and it is kind of obvious that he'll be the target. Incase he dies, the mid laner or the jungler will be marked early and mid laner, which she'll gank in midlane If she dies, she can just re-mark the solo laner... What do you have to say

DukeSloth Athena jungle .erlang jungle both very strong right now. Thor jungle that builds control and can intiate. and missing a warrior or Guardian will be fine since Kali herself will be able to shred their front line and can go off in team fight. especially with a healer meta and if Aphrodite starts to see play Kali will go insane

Exactly! Especially with Athena jungle, you typically run into a similar problem: She's usually built with a lot of pen in order to keep up in clear, allowing for less tanky items. So in most cases, even if you run Athena jungle, you'll end up with a less tanky comp overall - same applies for Erlang. Most solos currently build almost full tank and junglers can't afford to do that as they'd often lack clear. It's not impossible, you can sacrifice frontline and put Kali into solo, but the only scenario where it's really effective AND consistent is in a coordinated team.

i think the changes will be worse on console because you cant type out if youve been marked, yeah theres the headset but i could count on 1 hand the amount of team mates that ive seen use a headset

I don't feel like the notification that they have been marked is that different. because any good Kali would pick the mid as their target every time. the mid should know that anyways. they shouldn't need a notification unless the Kali is dumb and doesn't choose them.

Doom0fGods good point, but most of the early game you will be around mid and have the best chance on the mid or jungle.

U can just dive the mid and ult if u get low it's still a buff

The change to who is marked after the mark is killed is a nerf in my opinion. The tank would always want to try to be your next target, which would mean that he would have to be the last one to damage you before you got a kill. Now he has to be the closest one to you, which was already his job anyway. Now it is more obvious to the enemy who your next target is because in a teamfight it isn't exactly easy to tell who dealt damage to you last but it is easy to see who is closest to you. If it did not notify who you select as a target then it would be a buff. Before, the enemy also knew who your next target would be because it is whoever got the kill. The only buff Kali got by this is being able to choose a target after death because in both the old and new system, the opponent knows, but now Kali can choose

If you get on the backline you should be able to take out the hunter or mage before the tank can get closer

dyndo101 most good supports do not make so much space between the frontline and the backline. Its usually no more than 60 units and thats if the hunter and mage are max ranging their autos/abilities. Fafnir, Terra, Bacchus, Geb, Athena, Khumba and Sobek are all mobile enough to help if the backline gets jumped. Khepri can rez and solar flare from that distance. Sylvanus can root, pull from that range and buy enough time to get in range for the heal. Ares would have to rely on chaining her before her leap. Ymir can go for a dank wall play or he would have to walk 30 units to get in cc range. Xing has probably some of the best kali counters even without his ultimate. And unless the kali is last picked, you wouldn't have carries that can't cc her in some way or have an escape. And if there is more than 60 units between the support and the carries, then someone on the team fucked up.

Jadizi Well most likely if its a duel with someone who has no escape. But in the context of a teamfight, there is usually enough cc on a team to deal with a kali

Duke would be nice if you could upload a vid about matchmaking in Smite, today I got matched with 4 silver ranks, although i'm plat. One of them started to fed the enemy team, this is seriously bullshit.

No it doesn't fucking matter. You pick the mid laner and they play passive under tower, lose gold, and you can rotate. If you're playing with a shit team then maybe it's a nerd but that is a HUGE amount of mid pressure you have in the map with is crazy. Not a nerf. A change but I don't think it hurts her that much. If the target plays passive because of this they are meaningless and can't help their team as much and in a team fight it doesn't matter they have to come to GF and FG.

It's obvious that most Kali's will mark mid.They will know it either way.I don't see what's the problem with Scylla sitting under tower.If you have agressive mid like Isis you can just control mid camps and FG minions for free and mid will fall behind.This was 100% a buff..

natedrak3 If he was careful, yes. The chance that the jung would gank u out of nowhere was always there, if u place wards and have enough spacing, kali can't risk to kill you.

Her targets now know who's marked, it's generally clear as to who's marked when a Kali targets them, but now you definitely know; it's a buff and a nerf

more a buff than a nerf so still oesn't matter, now in team fight knowing you'r target after killing someboy is the closest one and not the one at the other side of the map is more important, moreover, your target was alrea knowing that he was because of the mark similar to ao kuang and thanatos with a threshold (something like 1/4 hp). sorry there but i will only take notes of the first 2 changes : she chose her first target and the next one is the closer someone knowing he is targeted will stay back an sit there or go in and take a huge risk of getting killed. not to mention that she is ale to rotate betwin two targets only if she wants.
