...the Waluigi arc could have still happened perfectly fine even if Meggy didn't exist, it's really Boopkins (and of course Waluigi himself) who initiated that, Meggy had basically nothing to do with the arc at the start and didn't appear until Mario and the T-pose virus, which was really the third episode because, even though it's not in the playlist, the real beginning of the story arc was Stupid Mario Tennis Aces. She had no influence in the Arc's beginning, she simply became a part of it after it had already started.

Evolution of Meggy: 2017 (first appearance): Was an inkling. Simply a side character that appeared occasionally/sometimes. 2018: Was an inkling still. Started to become more important in SMG4's videos. Also met Saiko and Tari. She gets into a rivalry with Desti. 2019: Became a human in the middle of the year (ending of anime arc). Also had PTSD from Desti's death. Became even more important. Still spoke inkling. 2020: Wins the splatfest. She now has a house and a job (police officer). At the ending of the youtube arc, she gets human voice clips. 2021: She stars in her own series on GLITCH.

I'll be honest -- Luke probably would have burned out and stopped making videos. He had already moved away from the youtuber Mario recolors and there wasn't much left he could do with the SM64+ cast. Luke said himself he was growing up and wanted to try different things. He NEEDED something that would keep him motivated. They lucked out with Meggy. Kevin said NOTHING about Meggy was planned -- she just _happened._ The best kind of character!

Exactly 6 years ago (as of my typing this), SMG4 Team decided to expand their horizons a bit by trying an episode with story structure and some actual animation… in so doing they created a very special girl who gave unexpected depth to our favorite dumbass plumber and then to the whole cast, including those who came after, while enduring a lot of grief. Happy 6th Anniversary and 21st birthday to woomy girl Meggy Spletzer! 🧡 I for one am glad she exists.

Five long years have passed, and our favorite former Splatoon rep of SMG4 is still standing. It's hard to believe that Meggy has come so far. Going from an inkling to a human, meggy's definitely evolved throughout the years as one of SMG4's most beloved characters, if not nearly the #1 best. Meggy has definitely gone through a lot of character development, from losing plenty of things spanning from hundreds of splatfests to a rival turned friend. Its insane how SMG4 wrote her like a fuckin book from front to back. Keep going, meggy! Here's to another five years!

SMG4 still was funny, honestly when they were experimenting with MORE story arcs, it went down hill from there really.

I literally just discovered this series yesterday and watched the anime arc and was curious as to how far back this goes and my... This series has some history. I love how fun and goofy the writing is for this series. Though it's packed with random moments and wacky content, there is still a story being told that can teach morals. Clever work ya'll. WIll be looking forward to following this series for now on.

i have been a fan of smg4 for like 3 years now and its just weird to think meggy used to be a small side character and people just thought: "oh another little character no one will even pay attention to who is an inkling this time, thats great" and now she stars on her own animated series and is like one of the main characters, and legit everyone knows who she is, inkling, human, or an animated freakshow, she used to be the stamp on the passport, now she's california.

I don't know if SMG4 would be where he was without this episode and introducing a new character. That's my way of saying I'm happy this happened

It' incredible to see just how much Meggy has changed since this video, and I don't say that lightly. Between all the changes she experienced, internally and externally, she is truly one of my favorite characters. Less than a day remains until "Meggy's Destiny" as of typing this comment, and I couldn't be more excited to see the climax of her character.

I can not believe, that now already 5 years passed from Meggy's first appearance. Just unbelievable how quick the time flies and how much Meggy changed and developed and had to witnessed through this years, didn't really expected that much, when this video was released and now she is my favourite character. This brings back so much nostalgia! Splatoon is such a fun game and was so happy SMG4 made a splatoon vid! Meggy is awesome! Even though I still miss her inkling form, she’s still one of my favorite SMG4 characters!
