This one was actually so cool. I originally thought this would be pretty simple to TAS because both of the saves in Deep Dark 1 pretty obviously required damage being taken. But then after messing around a bit with the shell I found that if you hold a shell, you can triple bounce off a second shell, and with a bit of spin-in-midair shenaniganry this would get you enough height to reach the mast without getting hit by the flame.
I was originally pretty worried about whether the strat would actually work out, mostly because there wasn't obviously a way to get on the shell without falling off before you could double bounce. After a lot of messing a lot with jank though, I found this spot where it works. Overall an A Press save which seemed very unlikely a few stars ago but looks really cool to see done.
Next is Deep Dark P which is gonna be... a task

Sorry if this is a dumb question but couldn't you stay on the fence and leave a magikoopa alive to bounce into the star? Or do the magikoopas die when the star spawns
