This is a waaaay better explantion on how to measure distance than the Soldier Book...
this is actually very well put together and I am grateful that this is on you tube, cause land navigation is my least strong suit.
This visual guide helped me earn a "Superior" rating during my Individual Training at the BLC. For your outline, "COPY IT VERBATIM FROM THE SMCT" including the "FOREIGN DISCLOSURE" section

This contradicts 071-COM-1008. when measuring distance you place "The right tick mark on the closest printed number on the primary scale so that the left tick mark is in the extension scale"

I was reading that too. However, I think it makes more sense the way the video shows. There is also more explanation behind it. Versus the book.
