I was there . About 10 rows back center . I was 18 getting slammed into everyone way to many people it was nuts !! Best show ever !! Some people were passing out it was so hot like 100 degrees in golden gate park

Same, only more towards the edge of the mosh pit, so probably about 100-200 feet from you, and I was 20. It was fucking nuts. What I’m sure a lot of people don’t know is that there were 2 huge stages. So when one set would end and another band would begin on the other stage, there was this huge push, like a gigantic wave of people. I’m a big dude, otherwise there are more than a few times I might have been crushed. It was fucking epic. I’m from Gilroy, and I got tickets from a friend of mine. It was one of the most iconic moments of my life, and I’ve been to quite a few concerts (a close second is the next year when I went to Bridge Benefit Concert at the shoreline

I will never forget this show!! So awesome! If the tape kept rolling we would’ve seen that silverfuck jam get heavy, one of the biggest pits I’ve ever been in.

I'll never forget this set. There was a crazy drugged out guy in the crowd that was going around and randomly punching people in the face during this set. Eventually the crowd had enough of the guy and he got pummeled by a mob of people. EMT's came and dragged the guy out. Good times! Was anyone else there that remembers that?

Hey everyone, thank you so much for uploading. Back then you could organise and play a show for a great cause like 'free Tibet'. Nowadays if you had a gig for Gaza (or even for Isreal for that matter) it would be shunned for fear of being labelled 🙄 - back then you could do the right thing and not be judged

Great show. Smashing Pumpkins were like no other band. Billy Corgan used to stand for important things too. I wish he still did.

19 years old. My girlfriend and I drove from Ohio to the Pacific. We scored tix for $20 each in the Haight.

Back then I would have picked D'Arcy. Nowadays, just gimme her damn bass. Both are beautiful here.

I just happened to be there and it just happened to be for The Pumpkins! It was scary because the Beastie Boys just started out of nowhere I mean the Pumpkins played their last note and it was like WHOA Beasties over at the next stage don't get trampled!

3 months later, moved hundreds of miles away to start my LIFE! You know, college, 1st boyfriend, SP's was my 1st concert ever that he took me to in January of 1997, I also learned bass as well, played in 5 very different bands, and met James, Billy, and Melissa. Ironically, my dream turned into a NEVER-ENDING HELL, I hope no one feels this bad for being a good person! Still, nothing lasts forever-not even DEATH! The closest contender is LOVE! 💘 But, it has to be authentic and mutual or that will die too. Most funny! I named our 1st daughter CHLOE! Now, Billy's partner is CHLOE and I'm not sure her ethnicity, but she looks part Asian? 2 kids, JUST LIKE US! 😲 GREATEST LESSON! I never knew what true happiness was until I got married....By then, it was TOO LATE! 💀

It was embarrassing. I felt so bad for the fans. It was like one song. It wasn’t a song. It was terrible. I’ve walked off stage before, but this was supposed to be for a good cause"

Bill & Bill`s Gentlemans Club She’s not. She was as upset as the rest of them with Jimmy. Idk why she went off the rails but I think Billy said she may have been triggered by Jimmy’s OD. I believe she got divorced around the same time as she started doing hard drugs and got kicked out of the band too so maybe that’s it.
