Who would’ve thought the voice of spongebob would be in one of the greatest music videos of all time.
finding out that d’arcy had the tonight tonight sets shipped to her farm is the cutest thing I found out today
It connected with everyone because it is perfect. I swear to God you can't touch Smashing Pumpkins. Their songs, their videos, live performances. I will love them forever.

I think the actual reason is both it’s combination of accessibility (it was everywhere, not hard to get ahold of, on an average person’s TV, etc) and it’s *timelessness.* It never really ages because it was an anachronism when it was created-there’s very little of it that screams “this is the 90s!” It’s created in the style of an age so long gone that it is now (and was, at the time this video was created) immune to rapidly changing trends and tastes. Everyone can appreciate the whimsy and beauty of this video, whether you’re young or old, whether you keep up with trends or not. It doesn’t ever feel dated or out of style because, again, it was created anachronistically. That’s why it connected with everyone, I think. It’s just neat. It’s not capitalizing on a trend or the zeitgeist of the 90s-it’s just *neat.*

And the video (and the song, too, obviously) for 33. I'm not sure which I like better.

I was so insecure in the 90’s I rejected this band. I’m glad I grew up. This is perfect music.
easily one of the most creative music videos of all time

Correction, THE BEST.
Can't believe they actually used a hand cranked camera. No one would ever do that now, they would just use effects. Respect.

Today’s video makers wouldn’t survive without digital. Although I understand the economic factor, a lot of imagination’s being lost.

A music video near and dear to my heart! My grandfather was one of the band members that sent off Tom Kenny and Jill Talley's characters to the moon, and then one of the angels playing behind Corgan in the sky. It's an absolutely gorgeous music video and so humbled to see this, so many years later!

That's lovely! Your grandfather is a legend. What’s his name? Are they actual musicians? I thought they were actors until I saw the violin player putting rosin on his bow in this video

@@armandocamero Aw thank you! Yes they are actual musicians, and some were his friends/people he used to play gigs with. His name was Harold.
Tom Kenny and Jill Talley
Most beautiful music video of all time. Tom Kenny is amazing!
I’m not someone who easily says “this is one of the best songs ever” simply because the music catalog is so vast and incredible so many songs could be claimed to be “the best of…” But I feel confident to say that, in my personal opinion, I can put Tonight Tonight as one of the 30 greatest rock achievements of all time, not only because of its lyrics, it’s depth, sincerity, and melodic beauty, but also for its majestic arrangements, it’s visual concept and incredible music video. Few songs, like The Beatles “A Day In The Life”, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall” or Led Zeppelin’s “Achilles Last Stand” share that same epicness.

This album, this era, this song blew my mind! I was 11 years old in '95 and ever since then, I'm 38 yrs old now and I've listened to this group since. I appreciate this song so much more as an adult!! I need to see them in concert before I phase out of this world.
My mom didn't know who SP were and maybe heard me playing my Gish cassette in the car sometimes, but she absolutely loved this video and even recorded it on VHS to show me one day.
A time when music videos were not shit
This looks like so much fun to make! Just a bunch of artists doing what they love. We need to encourage and fund more creativity like this. Lord knows our culture needs it.

A work of art.
This was the last year that Tom Kenny was voicing Heffer in Rocko's Modern Life during its initial run. The show was canceled in late '96. :(
Classic video. Will live forever.
It don’t get more 90s than the teenage mutant ninja turtles stunt men appearing in this video 👌

Definitely one of the best music videos of all time. I also like Coldplay's Trouble music video. Also Bjork's music video with the Gorilla Dentist. So many amazing music videos over the years. Such amazing works of art.
I love it. One of my favorite videos of all time. This is real art and ties the song in so well. So many years later and it still holds up to bigger budget videos.

The song came out when I was 6-7 and became one of my first solid memories of music.
Most beautiful music video ever made. I hopen one day, they'll scan all the periculeus and it will be re-released in HD or 4K. I know that would be mind-blowing.

This remains my favorite video of all time, has to be the pinnacle of the art form. The song is such a special memory of my college years in the late 90s. Thank you so much, Smashing Pumpkins!
I can’t believe Tom Kenny is in this! So wild
This video inspired me so much as a kid.
A great example of when the recording and the video elevated both.
Este video junto a everlong de foo fighters son los mejores videoclips de los 90tas.
great freaking tune back when music was music
One of my favorite songs and music videos… ever!
It's the best music video of all time. Combination of video and song and it's honestly one of the great works of film art (I guess all music videos, if you think about it, are 'short films') ever made.
So special. Another masterpiece. Brilliant.
The best videoclips ever!!! 🙌🏼 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤠😻
I love Tom Kenny. He's sweet, he's loveble, and extremely talented and versatile.
This is an amazing video!!! what a work of art!!! I take a bow
Whaf a monumental effort. Surely one of the best music videos of all time.

One of the best music videos ever made
Muito bom assistir este making of. Moro no Rio de Janeiro BR e lembro que por volta de 1996 este incrível vídeo clip sempre passava na MTV Brasil.Ele marcou bastante a minha infancia.

i love it, but to say "it connected with everybody" is a bit silly. considering the total world population at that time, only 0.0001% would have even known that the band existed.
