This was maybe the best performance ever that an European had against Ma Long at a world championship. Tokic played at incredible level here. And anyways, Ma Long dictated.

I saw Bojan tokic for the first time in this match, and I was very suprised to see Ma long having such difficulty against the non Chinese player :) Tokic was the best dark horse in this tournament who made a fantastic battle with the dictator Ma long

Really Impressive to see Tokic being able to put up such a fight against Ma Long. Usually, non-chinese players tend to play some even sets with the chinese players in the beginning of the match (at most). Here, Tokic was super close in every single set, and was even able to take 2 of them! Great job!

I think Tokic's skills are no less than Ma Long. His backhand short-ball attacks are well disguised and deadly. Ma Long and a few other players also have that. It is his concentration. He seems to allow a few loose points here and there. Ma Long did that too but not as often.

I tell you what,the dissolution of the USSR-Yugoslavia certainly hurt the level of European sports in general.Imagine Kreanga-Samsonov-Primorac in strong National teams instead of being alienated freelancers playing for German TT clubs. They went through so much shit they couldn't focus on big tournaments.Even Persson suffered in the Bundesliga.He lost his soul.

@@dickn.ormous1064 I would say E. European sports, not much to W. Europe. Sports are games and they are an important part of us but the fragmentation of the USSR and Yugoslavia brought wars. Sports compared to wars are not as serious. As I am typing, we don't even know if people are getting killed in a continuing Central Asia battle/war which is a direct fallout from the dissolution of the USSR 30 years ago. This is a long story.

This match was an instanst classic! Tons of awesome rallys and crucial moments. But you know whats sad? After a match like this, theres just a short handshake, no emotions or something. Sometimes i wish theres a hug or a short talk like after an epic tennismatch. Just my two cents.

Yep.msf usually means men single finals but ma long didn’t even win against Wang hao in the semifinals.The msf should be Zhang jike vs Wang hao.ridiculous.

2011 sounds right. Zhang and Wang battled twice for the WTTC titles. If I remember correctly, Ma Long was ranked #1 back then but he lost twice to Wang.
