The sad part about toon link is that his royal engineer outfit is literally IN THE GAME but you can’t use it or wear it as an alt skin.

Granted he IS the most recognizable character and he's Nintendo's mascot but even then that doesn't exuse Yoshi with his crafted world design, Meta Knight with his Dark MK and Galacta Knight Alts, Link with four alternative costumes that aren't from breath of the wild, little Mac's wireframe, hoodie wireframe, and his hoodie alt, and every non Pokèmon Trainer Pokèmon. Not to mention gender swaps, Classic Bayonetta and Inklings. I don't use Toon Link myself, but he deserves at least one unique alt that isn't a recolor.

lovethepandainyou tink is one of those characters that gets ignored for the content of who he is. Tink is a great character for his own reasons. He doesn't compete with the other two because he doesn't try to. He's just alternative rush down. Link is a technical setup zoner, and yink is a zoner with a ton of mix up.

That’s so true. I personally liked Tink the best to play. ESAM claimed that Tink is the best link but #ESAMOpinions. The main things that Tink has over the other Links are his bombs, mobility, and aerials. Bomb fair kills at 70% lmfao. Bomb to retreating fair on shield to catch the bomb bouncing off is also good shield pressure. It’s p safe and you get the bomb back into your hand to punish their next option.

Not gonna lie, didn’t expect this, but I absolutely love it. I have loved Toon since I first started playing Smash Bros back in Brawl. I know he’s not as good as other characters (hell, even the other Links!), but I still love him. This has given me that spark to play him more often again (I’ve been messing around with other characters as of late like Lucario). Thank you for this!!!

Seeing as they heavily nerfed bomb fakes outs going into Ultimate, I kinda had a crisis trying to playing neutral from there since bomb fakes outs _was_ my neutral in Smash 4. So you can only imagine the surprise I had when you did one at 9:08 with legitimate affect. I can't tell you how priceless this video is considering I dont make enough use of Toon Link's close range game and when I do, it's often wrong. All I can say is thank you so much for reminding me and encouraging me to keep playing this character. (Almost switched to normal Link out of lust for tech skill, close one)

"Try forcing as many jumps and air dodges as possible." Hah, I get it!

  • @SluggishSSB

His throws are way better on stages with platforms, because at low %s, you can force a tech situation on platforms, letting you try and punish an option with any of your aerials, or try to punish with boomerang. You can also neutral airdodge and within about 2 frames of the airdodge animation buffer a z drop, giving you a pseudo counter. This helps alleviate the struggle that is landing with Toon Link, causing your opponent to hit the bomb instead of you while you get to drift away, giving damage to them, as well as putting them in a state of disadvantage. Zair is also a move that Toon Link should consider a lot between matchups, with characters that have a good out of shield, faster aerials, and are hard to challenge with your normal sword, you can space out and hit them with the safe long disjoint that is his your zair.

Then I had a a match with newer local guy in the Losers bracket and that one was much closer. Came down to the wire, but he eventually pulled off a win and I was out. Still! I got some food and a fun day out of it! Might be something I look into doing again in the fully post-Covid times.
