I just started it again for i think the 4th time

This show is SO brilliant because the songs that were given to Ivy and Karen were fit for their voices. You heard Ivy sing this song only a little..because Karen's light elegance on the song. It matches perfectly. Ivy gets "Let's Be Bad" because of her belt and power. Obviously just two examples, but they are both such talented women that they get to shine every episode, together or individually. Each song is delicatly selected for these two incredible vocalists. They are stars! :]

I LOVE THIS SONG EVEN THOUGH IT'S SAD BUT ITS EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL AND MOVING. IT GIVES ME THE OPPOSITE OF CINDERELLA'S "SO THIS IS LOVE".

:) Smash's lyrics are always so beautifully written... I have so much respect for the whole cast and crew. Can't wait for season 2 :D

Is it just me or i love this version better than megan hilty's? both versions are great, but i like karen/katherine's voice better

One of my favorite songs of the series. Katherine's version is so vunerable and raw, like Marilyn's inner thoughts, not her public persona. 💞

She sounds so beautiful here, but her vocal technique too contemporary for the Marilyn character. That's why I prefer Megan Hilty -- she does a better job of playing the character.

i don't know maybe it's just me but Ivy's voice sounds forced, wrathful and heavy for the song. the subtle, velvety voice of mcphee just suits the mood of this song

That sucks, I didn't want to wait that long. I guess I'll have to subscribe to hulu plus so I can watch the first season over again.

I don't know how people could prefer Ivy over Karen...Karen in my opinion was the best person for the part! This version of the song is just pure perfection!

I think Karen played one side of Marilyn vero well, but Ivy played her more well-roundedly. As far as mannerism goes, Megan did way more research on her, which shows a lot when it comes to how Ivy plays her and the realism of her work is obvious to anyone who's familiar with Marilyn's career, early life and person in general. Looks wise, Katharine (Karen) is way skinnier than Marilyn ever was, while Megan looks just right. Vocally and technically, she outshines Katharine, especially when it comes to ballads. Also, I think it didn't help how they obviously wrote Karen to be the hero: personally, as many other people, I tend to instinctively dislike characters that are written as the goody-two-shoes in an obvious attempt of the writers to make the audience root for them.

fits her voice waay better. we all know that karen deserves this role. more than megan.

The difference between Karen and Ivy singing this song is that I actually feel like Ivy knows what this song is about and can emote while she is singing. Karen sings it pretty enough but the song could be about anything and it would sound the same.

This song is so sad, i prefer katherine singing this to megan although megan can do 'never met a wolf' better then katherine, i still love this song, smash is so awesome! i cant wait for my dvds to come!

i literally re-enacting the scene where Karen sing along to this with her laptop on her lap. minus my own voice. just miming.

She has pure voice , but Ivy has more volume which personally I think the song needs a voice like Katherine's which is pure but needs the volume of Megan's after that the song would be amazon

I agree they are both amazing singers but when you think of the whole package, Megan/Ivy is Marilyn. She has the figure and she can do her voice better than Katherine/Karen. Even though I like Karens voice better.
